Answer – In humans,  health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease.

Human health depends on the following three dimensions:

  • Physical well-being: Good physical health can be achieved by doing regular exercise, developing proper food habits, and avoiding the consumption of harmful drugs such as alcohol and tobacco.
    • In addition, disease prevention, regular medical checkups, and injury prevention also help keep one’s physical health in check.
  • Mental well-being: This includes the ability to feel and express emotions, achieve fulfillment in life, and develop self-esteem and optimism.
    • A sound mental state is obtained by tuning into thoughts and feelings, managing stress, seeking support (therapy), and practicing spirituality.
  • Social well-being: Social well-being refers to successful interaction in the global community, developing intimacy with others, and creating a support network of friends and family.
    • Some of the factors that contribute to social well-being include honing communication skills, respecting oneself and others, contributing to the community, and building healthy relationships.
