Sojourner Truth was an outspoken woman who fought for women's rights, black's rights, and antislavery. She fully believed what she spoke when she said, "Truth is powerful and it prevails." Sojourner Truth stood up for something she believed in, and it is still affecting people's lives in many positive ways today.

Sojourner Truth went around and met a lot of people, which one reason made her speech aint I a woman famous.

Although there have been several influential people in the world, the person that stood out to me most is Susan B. Anthony. Born in 1820, she was raised in a politically active family and was inspired to fight for women's rights while taking part in the Temperance Movement. Her work helped shape the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote. Susan b. Anthony’s strong belief in women's rights and how she takes initiative into turning her beliefs into a reality is extremely courageous and should be recognised by more people.

Without a doubt there is one major performer that certainly stands out within our pop culture world. The name of this very famous American icon is, Dolly Parton. Dolly has surpassed any rags to riches story that ever lived. She has touched the lives of so many individuals over many decades through her many talents. Dolly started her career at a very young age and continued fulfilling her life endeavors through country music, pop music, and even acting. This American icon didn’t stop with just her talents, she also gave back to our society through charity, fundraising, and establishing her own theme park. Dolly Parton was brought up in a very poor family, however through much dedication she became the famous icon everyone idolized today.

“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.” This was said by Rosa Parks. She was an enormous inspiration to the African American Race. She was one among many who lived in a rough time for African Americans. She lived in a time when equality wasn’t really equal. When African Americans were scared/ weren’t allowed to state their opinions on different matters. However, Rosa Parks was an individual who stood up for herself. Rosa Parks helped the Civil Rights Movement and African Americans gain equality mainly through her courage and refusal to move.

The facts in her life was what made her speech so inspirable. Sojourner Truth was the name she was famous for because she spoke about only what she believed in. She wanted to get her points across very clearly and the only way to do that was to be completely honest.

Amelia Mary Earhart had the courage and independence to do anything she wanted to do. This includes crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a plane and sharing her visions for aviation and women. She inspired many, formed the first women aviator’s association, and she tried to fly around the world. That is why I think that Amelia Earhart has made a difference. And as I have said, Amelia Earhart has certainly affected many people.

Arguably one of the most powerful of Dylan’s social issue charged song is The Death of Emmet Till, a young black man who was unrightfully killed by the Ku Klux Klan. By 1963, Dylan and his on and off lover Joan Baez were both very well known in the civil rights movement. Baez and Dylan would sing together at rallies including the famous March on Washington. Dylan was on stage with Martin Luther King Jr. when his gave his infamous I Have a Dream speech. Though Dylan sang of American injustices, he was never incredibly interested in politics and he was ultimately frustrated by people defining him solely as a protest singer. Dylan’s frustrations with the unsought political branding are expressed in It Ain’t Me Babe, which “appears to be a song about rejected love, [it] was actually his rejection of the role his reputation and fans had thrown on him” (Carlson).
