Scenario You are trying to set up tracking for sales for a start up company. The company has been operating for about 6 months. • The sales force has been keeping track of their activities in an EXCEL spreadsheet that lists customer name, bid number, date requested, date bid sent to customer, the sales person, and the value of the bid. • The finance person has an EXCEL file where the PO numbers are assigned to completed contracts. This file has customer name, the bid number, the PO number, the date the PO was signed, the value of the PO, and the number of items ordered. • Order fulfillment keeps track of the activity by PO number in their own EXCEL spreadsheet. They are interested in the date they receive an order, the date the …show more content…
The Pareto Chart is also used to display information about attribute data. For numeric and date/time data, the following graphs are most useful: • Scatterplots show the relation between 2 variables. If you have information about attribute variables associated with the numeric data, it can be used as a grouping variable to use color to illustrate groups • Matrix plots provide multiple scatter plots for multiple variables. • o Matrix of plots shows every possible combination of variables up to 20 o Each Y versus each X provides an array of all possible XY combinations (-- removed HTML --) Graphing Data – The Graph Menu • Histograms are used to show the distribution of numeric data. The Graph menu choice allow for the overlay of a continuous probability distribution with the same parameters as the collected data • Dotplots show the distribution of numeric data as well. These make comparisons between groups easier • Stem-and-leaf plots show the distribution of the data like the histogram but also keep the information of the specific data values • Probability Plots can be used to find the percentiles of the data regardless of the distribution. They can also be used to compare distributions for locations of center and variation • Probability Distribution Plots can be used to create diagrams and find/show the area under the curve for 24 different distributions • Boxplots use the 5 number

I would use a bar graph because it would be easy to follow and understand the information presented.
You are all interested in something. Explore the literature (magazines, books, web sites, etc) for your interest area and find an example of the use of graphical statistics. I suggest a Google search using the Images option, and select some interesting and visual display of data. Identify the related materials that support the graphic and containing some form of statistical analysis and/or display. Review your materials using the framework offered below.
Assume that you are preparing a report on MM207 statistics students at Kaplan University to present to the Kaplan Board of Trustees. Prepare an appropriate graphical representation for each of the following variables.
The graph that is the most appropriate for this type of data is a histogram because it is used to compare things between contrasting groups.
8. Review the following frequency distribution. Create a histogram either by hand or by using some other
A histogram shows the distribution of data within the Income. In this Histogram graph of Income, it shows that the graph is not symmetrical. This histogram graph has a wider bell shape form. The graph shows that this graph is more like two graph because there is a clear difference between income generating
(a). Plot mean chart (x-chart) and range chart (R-chart) to analyze these data. Sample No. Observations Mean Range
The Green Computing research project is well underway and we have to select a research tool that will help with quality control. The choices are Cause and effect diagrams, control charts, Run charts, scatter diagrams, histograms, Pareto charts and flow charts. I am a huge fan of statistical analysis however; it is not one of the seven tools we have to work with. Therefore, I have chosen the Pareto Chart method to help with our quality control.
Construct back-to-back stem-and-leaf plots and histograms and describe data, using terms including ‘skewed’, ‘symmetric’ and ‘bi-modal’.
The summary includes variance, mean, median, mode and standard deviation. As shown in the histogram majority of people in the data pool have a height of 62-68 inches. This is a symmetrical distribution seeing how close the mean and median are to each other.
Create a POS that will track inventory, who made the sale and when to reorder
3.Without having personal insight into the author's rationale for choosing a grouped scatter plot to present this data, I have to assume that the authors wished to visually portray the distributions and a scatter plot was their choice. An alternative and equally valid choice would have been the box plot, but the granularity of the distribution would have been lost by using a box plot. In other words, the box plot would have
In marketing, several types of graphs are used to understand trends, growth of sales, and other data. The types of graphs that are used are bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs/pie chart, and frequency tables. A bar graph is a drawing made up of parallel bars whose lengths are proportional to the qualities being measured. A line graph uses a line that joins points representing changes in variable quantity, usually over a specific period of time. A circle graph or better known as a pie chart, is a geometric representation of the relative sizes of the parts of a whole. A frequency table lists numbers, fractions, or percentages observed for different intervals. Lychee Lou uses graphs in marketing because it is a simple and easy way to observe
