Causes of the World Wars World War I and World War II both had devastating effects worldwide, and were major turning points in History. Even today we still feel the impact of these terrible conflicts. These conflicts had many similarities in how they began, but they also had their differences. Europe was dominated by feelings of nationalism in the early 1900s. The German government felt that it was in charge of Europe, mainly because of the enormous growth it had gone through in recent decades. The Germans wanted to continue their growth, and establish colonies. Colonies would supply Germany with the resources needed to maintain their army and give Germany a higher status. However, Britain had control over the ocean and it was not about to let Germany expand and gain more power. Because of

As nations grew in power, they were offered territory as appeasement. Most notably Hitler was given Czechoslovakia. Fear of communism made people less critical of him and made some politicians more sympathetic to his demands. Many also thought that the treaty of Versailles had been too harsh on Germany and that it should regain some territory. The British Prime Minister Chamberlain was a strong supporter of this tactic, and he ended up handing Hitler territory and preventing nothing. He believed the only way to prevent a war was to appease Hitler, but he ended up realizing he was incredibly wrong. Nothing even resembling this appeared preceding WWI. The causes of both World Wars were similar in many ways but they also had several key differences. One notable difference was the presence of alliances in World War I, replaced with isolationism in World War II. But even if they had different causes, they both evolved into bloody, drawn out conflicts that took a massive amount of lives, and left their mark on Europe for
Nationalism went hand in hand with feelings of national discontent. Many Germans felt humiliated by their country's defeat in World War I and its harsh treatment under the Treaty of Versailles. During the 1930's, they enthusiastically supported a violently nationalistic organization called The Nazi Party. The Nazi Party declared that Germany had a right to become strong again. Nationalism also gained strength in Italy and Japan.
The causes of World War One and World War Two shared both differences and similarities, but I believe that overall there were more differences between the two. The social, political, and economic circumstances of the times varied, though at times correlated with each other, but there are extreme differences that help create a different atmosphere for each war.
World War I and World War II were both fueled by the same country; Germany. These wars eventually aided the American economy and altered American foreign policy. If America didn’t get involved in both, the outcomes might have been very different. As a result of these two wars, America became a superpower. …
I believe that World War II was a continuation of World War I because of some not resolved issues. Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by expanding the military and invading Poland. One of the events that led to the beginning of World War 1 was: Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism; which stands for MAIN. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia but they then joined up with Russia. After, Germany declared war on Russia which caused the war to expand. World War I ended in 1918 when Germany surrendered. It also had a great impact on European countries after it ended.
World war I and World War II was two world wars that completely devastated Europe. Many deaths and sacrifices were made throughout and these two events are no doubt one of the most important events in world history. Many books were written about these two wars, detailing the great horrors and brutal truths of life out on the battlefield.
World War I left a lasting impression on the world. New weapons such as tanks and poison gas turned the war into a “war of attrition.” Trench warfare was primarily used in this war and the conditions there were part of the reason why millions of people died. The war remained a stalemate between the opposing sides until the United States made the decision to join the war on the side of the Allies. This changed the course of the war and the Allies beat the Central Powers. Many factors in Europe contributed to the start of the war. Later, other reasons forced America to join the war which would leave drastic results.
Generally speaking, countries fight wars to gain independence for their own or power over others. No matter the reason, wars leave a great impact on civilians, militias, and countries as a whole. Sometimes it's a positive impact as the country successfully gets what they are fighting for. Sometimes it's a terribly negative impact and the country encounters great losses. World War I and World War II were those wars that had a terribly negative impact on not only a specific country, but the entire world. There are a lot of similarities and differences between World War I and World War II. Both wars were started off the need of power and
World War I was a long, hard war that resulted in a catastrophic death toll with no real change in the world as to what it was before the war, because of this many people refer to it as an “unnecessary war”. Without World War I most people, believe that the world would have been generally the same as to what it had always been and so the loss of millions of lives had essentially been for nothing. World War I or the Great War, as it used to be referred to as, seemed to have been caused because of imperialism, nationalism, and militarism. Some of the major countries were fighting to be the best, they wanted the most advanced and proficient army and they wanted to expand their country and take over more territories and because of this major tensions
World War I and World War II was the more deadest period in modern history. Nations have prided themselves on being world leaders were tearing themselves apart for what they believe to be for the greater glory of mankind. At the front of both World Wars was Germany, who believe controlling Europe means controlling the world. The Wars illustrates why a specific feature that was used to justify their reasoning for the wars. Both wars lead to the creation of new technological advances, Germany wanted a united Europe with a superior race on top, and both wars left millions of soldier and civilians dead.
A Comparison of World War I and World War II World War I and World War II, while started by much of the same
World War I resulted in a European economic depression and the rise of totalitarian and dictatorial leaders. These leaders, such as Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Joseph Stalin, pushed European countries into a second internal war. World War II resulted in the global development of atomic warfare and the collapse of Great Britain’s power.
Two decades after the first World War happen another world war occurred known as World War II. There were many causes that led up to this war. The Treaty of Versailles ended World War I, but Germany had to accept the responsibility of the war. Therefore, Germany economy went downhill and people were starving because of war debt. The Great Depression had a big effect on a lot of countries; therefore, countries started adopting fascism. Fascism was another problem that helped lead to World War II. Fascism started in the 1920’s in Europe and it meant that each country was run as a dictatorship. This way of government controlled the lives of individuals
The world has changed since that day, September 1, 1939, with the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany, the start of World War 2. There were many fluctuations in economic terms as well as the politics of some powerful countries in the world also started from there. This is a catastrophic world war between the Allied forces and the Axis under fascism. Although this war just lasted in 6 years, from 1939 until 1945, but almost every continents in the world are affected by this war, except Antarctica and South America, and the population of the world decreased significantly.
World War I and World War II were known as the two largest military conflicts in history. Many countries went to war and many lives were lost. Both wars consisted of many different alliances between different countries involved in whichever war.
World War II has been considered one of the worst things to ever occur in history. Violence, death and aggression took place in the 1930s and 1940s in certain European nations. German leader, Hitler played an important, yet a very big role during this time. With the rise and domination of fascism in Germany and Italy, the goal was to maintain peace, established by the Treaty of Versailles ended up in major disaster. World War II began with the poor economic conditions in Europe after World War I and the confrontation of clashing forms of governments and in the end it brought about positive and negative changes of the world. World War II began on September 1st, 1939 when Germany invaded Poland; this invasion led to the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, The Great Depression, and the Holocaust.
