The chair in Annette’s office is no longer available, there is a grey ergonomic chair in cubicle 104 that is available, you can try to see if that is better for you. If that chair doesn’t work, I can submit a request for an ergonomic evaluation for you. If you need an evaluation, please answer the questions below: • Has the employee filed a Workers’ Comp claim for an injury pertaining to his/her workstation? • Does the employee have a permanent or long-term disability? • Is the employee under a doctor’s care for an injury pertaining to the workstation and/or does the employee have a pre-existing medical condition that would impact his/her workstation configuration?
iv. Users of remote workstations must comply with HIPAA Security Policy # 10 - Workstation Use)
On the morning of August 16, 2017, Wilma Waedle came to my office to discuss a past workman’s comp claim. According to her personnel file, the workman’s comp claim that she was referring to was closed in 2015. That released her to full duty as a Qualified Medical Administration/Certified Nursing Assistant. Ms. Waedle stated that her arm from the previous claim was still causing her pain. She also stated that she had the doctor cleared her so she could continue to work but did not get to the real cause of her pain.
Provide a reason for why companies should invest in ergonomically correct furniture and computer hardware.
Once Dr. Swartz acknowledged the ROM method was improper in this case, I turned Dr. Swartz attention to the DRE method. After reviewing the table for the DRE Lumbar Category on page 384 of the AMA Guides, Dr. Swartz placed the applicant into a DRE Lumbar Category II and assigned an impairment of 5% WPI. Dr. Swartz supported her opinion based on the fact there is a subjective complaint of pain radiating into the applicant right leg as documented in his evaluation report of June 16, 2016. However, Dr. Swartz acknowledged there is no objective evidence to verify the radicular complaints, thus the placement into DRE Lumbar Category II is appropriate since there is no verifiable radicular complaint.

Adjustable workstations are increasingly becoming a main benefit for organizations using them. When using computers at the workplace, employees typically sit down for longer periods without adjustable designed workstations. Such situations can lead to regular back injuries, stress injuries and other forms of injuries. All these injuries result in lost work time and reduced productivity. Using adjustable workstations reduces employee fatigue, makes them comfortable and helps them avoid standing or sitting in awkward postures. Adjustable designed workstations lowers the rate of suffering from tunnel syndrome injuries, which improves both employer and employee morale. This is characterized by improved productivity, reduction in employee absenteeism and minimal workplace complaints (Washington (State), 2009).
Any injuries that result in the inability of an employee to work more than 7days.

Issues such as the one outlined in this scenario and other ergonomic concerns in the workplace are well suited for OSHA’s General Duty Clause. One of the reasons for this is because the General Duty Clause is a broad but yet effective regulation tool that allows it to adapt to the work environment. Simply put, the General Duty Clause ensures that employees are “free from recognizable hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious harm to employees” (OSHA, 2016). Ergonomic issues fall nicely here because of the broad umbrella OSHA has to mitigate and protect employees from hazards. With that said, it does fall on the employee to properly use their equipment, tools, and training to protect themselves from the effects of ergonomic
The ABC system will help management analyse the profitability of each customer and restore the profitability of the company. Allied needs to offer benefits such as modified compensation plan focused on growing customer revenue and profitability to help encourage sales behaviour. TFC is able to significantly improve profits by concentrating on individual account management which SBP is capable of by identifying service costs and calculate the contribution for each account and then rank the accounts according to profitable ones. TFC should charge its customers based on their service usage by using cost plus pricing. The customers would be charged based on the cost of product plus service charge based on SBP systems plus a mark-up so that it will be fair to customers that have the same sales but different level of service.
It is a common practice especially in industries that have a large number of employees whom they cannot monitor in person. The research will examine computer monitoring as one of the methods which the management uses to monitor employee activity at the workplace. The researcher will examine the advantages of computer monitoring at the workplace in detail in relation to the legal realm, public perception and criticism. Firms store most of their data in the computer database. In fact, many companies rely on computer networks to communicate with its employees, stakeholders and clients.
