If people are interested to join a dental assistant school to part of dentistry, and serve in the health care industry, then then may have to know a few things.They need to be ready to present themselves into a dental assistant school to build their future. The number of people enrolling insuch dental assistant programsand schools keeps increasing every year. This has resulted in the growth of the dental assistant population. This is the reason a lot of people are infinite joining dental assistant programs.

This class relate to my major in the way that as a Dental Assistant, I need to have the knowledge to used instruments to make my job easier and precise, just like in this class we used tools to make our sculptures faster and dynamic. When filling in a tooth I need to have the skills to reshape the teeth back to its natural shape, like in art I need to be able to use my skills to shape clay to a sculpture. In a dental office before starting a procedure, I need to be able to explain the patient what they will go through. In class, I need to present my sculpture and explain why I created it. This class and my major also require people skills and acceptance of different cultures and opinions.

There are two important things to do in a dental office in order to prevent cross infection. These two forms are sterilization and disinfection. According to the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration before either of these forms can be used you have to clean the instruments. This can be done either by hand or by using an ultrasonic cleaner.

Looking through different regions in California, one of them stands out on having a high pay rate is the Bay Area. And, going more in depth than that, the city that pays the most for Dental Assisting in the Bay Area is San Francisco. That being said the question is: “Why does San Francisco city pay more than other cities in the Bay Area?”

The typical working areas for dental assistants are very clean, organized, and well lit. They must wear gloves, masks, eyewear, and protective clothing so that they are not exposed to any kind of infectious diseases. Assistants must also follow safety guidelines while operating x-ray machines and equipment. Dental assistants are very important to the dental team because they work so closely with the dentist so that they can provide quick and accurate service to the patient. Assistants will typically work 30-40 hours a week, and most offices are not open to the public on Fridays. From what was evaluated not surprising to me, since practicing as dental hygienist I have seen, but do have some my concerns on when change will come in those programs that are affected and could have incorporated leadership course into their dental hygiene program.
