I’ve known my whole life that The University of Michigan is where I belong. When my mom brought me to my first day of kindergarten, my response was “this isn’t Michigan.” At the time, I didn’t truly understand what being a wolverine meant. Just last year at San Diego State University, I found myself thinking once again, “this isn’t Michigan.” Then I realized that my past experiences lacked the spirited student body, heritage and long standing traditions that Michigan has fulfilled. Although the amount of reasons behind my drive to become a wolverine have certainly increased, there is no doubt In my mind that I knew exactly what I wanted from a very young age. I am applying to the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. I plan to major …show more content…
As I am now a sophomore in standing, I hope to build my understanding of economics through internships and career oriented opportunities. With Michigan’s resources such as Handshake, LSA Opportunity Hub and the backing of a strong alumni network, I look forward to immersing myself in the field of economics and creating and maintaining meaningful business relations. In addition, a goal I hope to pursue at Michigan is to study abroad in hopes of experiencing new cultures different from my own and furthering my knowledge of economics from different perspectives. I plan to become a global citizen through my collegiate years and beyond and I believe that through the elite economics department and many strong study abroad programs, I will thrive as an academically successful individual at Michigan. I believe there is no better fit for me than Michigan, as the university attracts some of the brightest, experienced, and talented educators in the world. My aspirations to earn a well-rounded and prestigious education with opportunities to challenge myself through extra curricular involvement, internship opportunities and studying abroad can be met in an excellent fashion at The University of Michigan. If granted admission, I want to make my mark and benefit from my successes and obstacles. As soon as I step on campus, I intend to immediately get
During the following summer, in 2015, I participated in the Bucksmore’s OASP Program at Oxford in order to confirm my initial thought. There, I took Economics and International Business Management as majors. The courses and the teachers were fascinating. I was delighted to discover new concepts and ideas and to participate actively in the debates within our group. At the end of the program I received straight A’s and appreciative comments from all my
Coming from a small town on the east coast, I would have never expected to fall in love with such a large and diverse college like the University of Michigan. The upbeat atmosphere of Ann Arbor alone was enticing enough before I even saw the actual campus. Upon visiting, I quickly realized the University of Michigan was a place I would not mind spending my next couple of years. From the countless students all around to the wide variety of shops in town, Ann Arbor seemed like a lively and exciting place to spend my college experience. While walking through the campus, I was continuously amazed by the large intricate buildings surrounding me. Some of my favorites included the Law Library, the College of LSA and the Michigan Union. While I do not plan on attending it, the Ross School of Business was also an incredible

From numerous computer labs to professional leaders in research, there are opportunities that will allow me to achieve my academic goals at UM that would be otherwise unavailable.
I believe UW-Green Bay is the university for me, and that I am a perfect candidate to help enrich this prestigious university both academically and socially. Many personal traits, experiences, and goals I have directly correlate with UW-Green Bay’s mission statement and goals for their students. Also, located just off the Lake Michigan shoreline, UW-Green bay offers a beautiful campus for its students, which intrigues me as an individual as a place I can see myself living and enjoying as I work toward my undergraduate degree. In addition, UW- Green Bay has all beautiful state-of-the art facilities and learning centers that I visited that I truly can see myself living in, learning in, and creating new friends and memories in. I believe this
At the University of Florida (UF) I am studying Political Science and Finance because I have an immense passion for understanding politics, law, and the money system. My passion for public policy and economics has motivated me to pursue a rigorous course of study, one that will enable me to obtain a dual major in these academic disciplines, both of which are central to modern adult life. The financial and political worlds are intimately intertwined, intersecting along many nodes throughout one’s lifetime that not only affect me currently as a student, but also influence my decisions concerning postgraduate academic pursuits and professional options as I enter the workforce. A disciplined approach I have to my studies will lead me to have
Michigan’s great name and ranking would be enough for nearly every applicant to want to Michigan Law. However, when I started looking closer at law schools and what they stand for and areas of expertise I found that Michigan aligns with my belief and interest more than any other law school I have seen. Not only is the reputation of the school so good that it is recognized everywhere but the tradition and location of the school is just as impressive. While I would also enjoy escaping the hot Texas climate but the values and of the school are something that I love even more about the school. The belief in interdisciplinary learning and actions is something that I think is important for being able to work on some of the most difficult issues
I have always known that I wanted to attend a top-tier university. The other details came later; the small size, the proximity to an urban hub, and my major itself. For a while, I was convinced that it would not happen; that I just wouldn’t get in. Now, I realize that I have an opportunity to do so. This is an opportunity I do not intend to waste.
When people hear the word “college”, many panic inside at the thought. But, when I hear the word “college” I think about Illinois State University. In early July, I attended an Open House at ISU for my very first official college visit. As I stepped onto campus, I couldn’t but help to feel like it was my future home. Many aspects of the tour made me draw nearer to choosing this college after finishing my High School career. Illinois State University seems to fit my personality very well, has an amazing program for what I want to study, and is an outstanding campus for my academic strengths and weaknesses.
Coming from a small high school and later a small college, I know now more than ever that James Madison University is the school for me. When I received a letter in the mail offering me not only an acceptance letter, but also an abundant scholarship from Elizabethtown College, a small private school, I felt I would be foolish not to accept this generous award. While I have had great experiences and have learned an abundance of knowledge in and outside the classroom during my first semester of college, I now know that to reach my full potential, it’s time to move on to a larger, more diverse campus like JMU. For me, Elizabethtown College was comfortable and reminded me of my hometown. Now I know that to be more successful, I need to step
The information in this book will challenge college students to think more seriously about the really important implications of economics—knowledge that will
My interest in business and economics began one winter break during junior year of high school. As I flipped through titles on Netflix, it was not a comedy nor an action-packed movie I landed upon, but rather the documentary Inequality for All. When it came time to choose classes for senior year, I jumped at the chance to take advanced placement micro and macroeconomics. Within the first week of attending class, my decision to study business economics was solidified.
Ann Arbor has been ranked by Forbes as one of the best cities in the country to work, allowing for endless internships and postgraduate opportunities. As an innovator, I can envision Ross and I being serving in a mutually beneficial relationship. In short, Ross will be a good fit for me and I will be a good fit for Ross. Should I be granted admission, I intend on taking the knowledge I learn in the classroom out to the real world. Overall, as a focused and driven student, the Stephen M. Ross School of Business is the ideal place to help me pursue my goals and increase my knowledge in my academic
First and foremost, let me mention that I am looking to apply to the Tepper School of Business and the Dietrich College of Social Science and Humanities.
I want to study economics and build a solid knowledge in the field to be able to see the causes of things more clearly, understand and find out the ways to make good economic decisions, and build a career through which I can make good contribution to the field by using the acquired academic skills correctly.
