Part Three: How to Win People to Your Way of Thinking Part three of How to Win Friends and Influence People is focused on presenting principles of persuasion. This section of the book presents twelve principles that Carnegie recommends adopting if you would like to win people to your way of thinking. These are not necessarily difficult principles to carry out in theory, but they are often overlooked in daily life. The best way to win someone over is to convince them you are their sincere friend. For example, Rockefeller was trying to handle a strike from miners demanding increased pay from the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company. Rockefeller spent weeks meeting and getting to know the strikers and their families, then made a speech emphasizing how grateful he was to be there and have the privilege to address them.
