In the beginning of the book I met the main characters Willowdean and Bo but i'm going to have to tell you their story so you can understand what all happened. So their story first just started with Will working in a fast food restaurant called Harpys’. Harpys’ is where Will met Bo and that’s where it all started. Willowdean met Bo at work and they started talking but she didn't think Bo liked her because he was so skinny and muscular a jock I should add and she was just a big girl that didn’t feel confident in herself. Willowdean liked Bo a lot and for him he liked her a lot to. So when they started talking it was during shifts, on breaks, and when they got off work walking to their cars. One day when they were walking to their cars he asked
Barb blames Janice for Anne's death to hurt her and make her feel guilty, not knowing that Janice already feels guilty but does not express it. However, Barb does not think about the challenges Janice might have endured but is angry because she is not the ‘ideal Janice’ that she had been expecting. Barb is too busy and eager wanting to express her anger towards Janice that she cannot relate to Janice’s problems and the struggles that she goes through. Barb’s lack of sympathy towards the unexpected changes in Janice’s life only results in a bigger gap in their relationship. Once Barb and Janice start talking, Barb is again angered by Janice’s quietness and her unwillingness to strengthen their relationship. However, she does not make an effort herself to understand why. Barb says to Janice: “You told us the facts. I don’t know one damn thing about you, the person” (36). Barb is annoyed and frustrated by Janice keeping to herself, she cannot understand her. Barb wants a strong relationship with her as sisters. For Janice, the sister relationship is too difficult and would rather prefer being friends. However, Barb does not acknowledge or accept Janice’s different views but expects Janice to want the same. Barb misunderstands the quietness of Janice and takes it personally, thinking that she wants to keep a distance from her and does not want to open up. Barb does not think of the opposite. What if Janice can’t
The book I am reading is That Was Then, This Is Now by S.E. Hinton. This book is in the first person point of view. In the beginning of the book it starts off by telling you about the two main characters of the story which are Mark and Bryon. The story is told by Bryon. Bryon and Mark consider each other to be brothers because Mark doesn’t really have a family. They live at home with Bryon’s mom. The two boys go to their friend Charlie’s bar all the time and the book introduces Charlie. Mark and Bryon are both under age and they are not supposed to be in the bar but Charlie lets them come in and buy some cokes. They owe Charlie money so they went to M&M. M&M is a friend of theirs.
The book That was Then, This Is Now is about to really good friends Bryon and Mark starting to go their separate ways. Bryon was a 16 year old hustler who lived in a hood. His mother was poor and she had adopted his best friend Mark. Mark was an illegitimate who was adopted by new parents that got in a drunken fight and killed each other. Mark was a thief, and he always got away with everything that he possibly could do. Teen kids in there element who thought they could rule the world, everything was theirs and that nothing could possibly go wrong. They did everything bad together smoke, drink, jump kids for their money, steal, skip school, take drugs and get into gang brawls.
I am reading one of Matt De La Peña top novels, I will save you. In chapter one, it takes place at the beach. It never said in the story where the beach was at. The main character is Kidd. He have no mom or dad, and he is leaving at a group home. He also carries around a philosophy of life book and write lessons he learned in it. Next is the second main character, Olivia. Kidd is in love with her and she is his best friend. But, Oliva might love Devon. Now that brings me to the last main character, Devon. He is Kidd best friend and worst enemy. He is Kidd worst enemy because he is always flirting with Olivia.
The book sets in with Willow Chance being orphaned. The author writes the whole scene in harsh words yet she makes it easy to imagine. This is one of the most action-packed scenes. It makes readers more connected and eager to know about Willow Chance. Willow
In the book Gabe is the older brother of Patrick who was dating molly in high school, until Gabe and Molly “hooked up.” Gabe in the book claims he had liked Molly since before Patrick did. When Molly returned to her hometown; she wanted to avoid Patrick as much as she could and Julia his sister. At first all she wanted to do was sit at home and watch documentaries on Netflix. During the day Molly sees Gabe at a café in town, he saw her and said hello. Gabe when he was younger didn’t want to hurt his brother by stealing his girlfriend, but he hurt his brother anyways. Gabe didn’t want to lose Molly as much as Patrick didn’t want to lose her. During her times in her hometown her and Gabe started dating; which was a huge surprise to Patrick. Toward the end of the book Molly went to go apologize to Gabe for cheating on him with Patrick. Molly asked Gabe if the only reason he dated her was to get back at his brother, Gabe claimed it was only at first. In the end Gabe lost Molly because he used her and she lost him because she cheated on him with his brother. Another question I have is for the author Katie Cotugno, why did she end the book with almost
5) What just happened? I think Mr. Bumble and Mrs. Corney got engaged, but it feels really forced and what... It feels like reading a bad fanfiction. The characters get together, and it is magical! Why? Cause they should be together, and I want it. That’s why. I’m confused. Have they met before? Even if they had met before, it seemed they had never showed any romantic

In the novel That Was Then,This is Now, we encounter two main characters. Bryon Douglas and Mark Jennings are two teenage boys from the same hometown with totally unique views on how to live life. Bryon Douglas is a 16-year-old boy, tall and strong with dark hair and dark eyes to match. He has a baby face that makes him look like a “St. Bernard puppy” that catches all the girls. Mark Jennings is 15 years old and lives with Bryon. He is short and compact with golden-brown hair and eyes. He has a sympathetic smile that gives him the look of a “friendly lion”. Although Mark and Bryon are best friends, you would never guess they were so close due to their opposite personalities.

So with this project I’m just coming out with what I’m thinking while I’m reading the book instead of giving you paragraphs. So I’ll just give you a quick run down of the book, It is basically about how the main character Belly (I know it’s a weird name) goes to her beach house and they only go there every summer. Her moms best friend goes with them, (and here’s a twist) Belly’s mom’s friend has two boys, Conrad and Jeremiah. The twist is that Belly has a crush on both boys or at least Belly’s brother thinks she does. But secretly I think she does too and i also think that everyone else in the book thinks that too. But here’s the thing Belly has had a past with Conrad, they’ve had a relationship too, but it ended quick. I think that it is crazy that she is now liking two guys and they’re both related to
The main character, Charlie must navigate through it even while feeling motionless and scared. He tells his story to the reader from his perspective. The reader sees life from exactly the way he sees the events and understands those events through a teenage boy’s eyes. The crisis is introduced when the town outcast Jasper Jones asked Charlie, a bookish young nobody of a boy for help. The reader sees Charlie’s internal conflicts of wanting to go with Jasper, feeling terrified, excited yet so wanting to be accepted by him Charlie does in fact sneak out in the middle of the night with his new friend. Jasper takes Charlie to the scene of the crime where Jasper’s girlfriend is hanging from a tree. The manner that Silvey describes Charlie’s reaction to the hanged girls is true to human nature, “I’m screaming, but they are muffled screams. I can’t breathe in. I feel like I’m underwater. Deaf and drowning.” This description foreshadows the solution to hide the body and Jasper and Charlie throw Laura Wishart into the lake. Unknown to either is Laura Wishart’s sister, Eliza. She witnessed the suicide of her sister and wrote the word “sorry” on the stump of the tree before she leaves. Charlie and Jasper find this word, assume that the killer wrote it there, and immediately jump to the
The book that I read for my forth novel study is dirty little secrets. The book is about Lucy. Lucy and her best friend Kaylie are at the movie theatre figuring which movie to watch and when they decided to watch chick flick and there outside of the theatre they both josh and Steve. Lucy had a crush on josh and Kaylie had crush on Josh’s best friend Steve. After watching the movie with josh Lucy thought that this is probably the best memory she had in her boring life. When Lucy got out of the theatre josh stopped her and asked her if she can come to watch his band perform at a party. Lucy said that she will try. Lucy heads home and thinks how she will even go to the party without an excuse so she came up with an excuse. Her excuse to her mom was that she is going to sleepover
