The school he attended was built 200 years before he was born. At this school Shakespeare learned the basics of English, through learning his ABC’s to being able study Latin and reading authors. Due to Shakespeare’s skill in writing he must have absorbed much information and knowledge of the English language. Unfortunately at the age of 13 Shakespeare was pulled out of school due to the fact that his father could no longer pay for his schooling due to finical reasons.
There isn’t any recorded documentation on Shakespeare’s interests or hobbies but William did make a few appearances in the acting career. Scholars found Shakespeare’s name on multiple cast lists such as Chamberlains Men Acting Company. Scholars believe that Shakespeare played the role of Edward 1 in a play by George Peele. The name William Shakespeare was also found on the cast list from a play by Ben Jonson. There are some rumors or theories that Shakespeare may performed in one of his own plays, but there’s really no solid evidence on this
When he was four or five years, he was enrolled at the King’s New School located in Stratford. The school was located at a short distance from their house on Henley Street. In addition, King’s New School stood as a grammar school that operated for the benefits of civil servant sons like the Shakespeare’s father. Shakespeare learned his basic readings and writing skills from a hornbook (a reading book for children),

From his tragic story of Hamlet to the romantic comedy The Tempest, William Shakespeare has been capturing his audience since he started writing in the late 1500's. When Shakespeare first started writing in 1590, he began writing plays, both tragedies and comedies, then he wrote poetry called sonnets. It is said that he last thing he wrote was finished in 1613, because as people suggest, that was when he lost his sight. He died three years later in 1616. He is known around the globe for his writing style and unique plots. His plays are studied in high schools and colleges around the world. Shakespeare has made history with his literature. During the Renaissance, Shakespeare wrote in three different genres, comedy, tragedy, and poetry.
William Shakespeare's life was barely recorded. There are no medical records of his birth date, but he was baptized on April 26, 1564 at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon. From this information scholars believe he was born around April 23,1564, the same day he died 52 years later. Shakespeare was the third of eight children to John Shakespear and Mary Arden. William was not born into a rich family, he went to King's New School, in Stratford, which was the local grammar school. He was unable to attend a university due to the fact of his fathers debt.(Ackroyd, 2005 ch. 1)
The grammar school was like other schools, it “consisted of an intense emphasis on the Latin classics” (folger.edu) and it is believed that Shakespeare also took acting classes at the grammar school. When William left the grammar school it was believed he was about fifteen years old. Only a few years after leaving grammar school, William married Anne Hathaway who was twenty six and William was now eighteen, she was already expecting her first child upon marrying William but that “was a fairly common situation at the time” (folger.edu). Prior to marrying William, Anne grew up outside of Stratford in Shottery; however, after marrying William she moved to Stratford where she would spend the rest of her
Growing up Shakespeare experienced the loss of his three siblings forcing him into living a darker childhood than most could imagine. As a child Shakespeare attended King’s New School where he was taught Latin, grammar skills, and also how to construct many plays (“Shakespeare’s Life”). Grammar school was one of the most influential parts of Shakespeare’s childhood because it shaped his writing styles and shaped who he would be as a writer. Another component of who Shakespeare eventually evolved into as an author was the literary and historic period he was living in referred to as the Renaissance. Shakespeare found himself intrigued by authors such as Ovid, Virgil, and Cicero due to the complexity of their work. During this time period Shakespeare came into contact with a lot of literature and occurrences, such as marriage to Anne Hathaway, that sparked who he would become as an adult (“William Shakespeare:
William Shakespeare was born on April 23, !564 in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England and died April 23, 1616 in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England. He was poor when he was a kid and had to work at a young age. When he finally went to school his favorite subject was drama. At the age of 18 William married Anne Hathaway. They were happy I love and had 3 children, Hamnet, Judith, and Susanna.
William Shakespeare is a well-known writer across the world who is credited with many plays in the categories of comedy, history, tragedy, romance, and poetry (“Elizabethan Literature”). More of his plays have been performed than any other playwright (“William Shakespeare” History). Romeo and Juliet, Henry VI, Titus Andronicus, and others are being performed all over the world in almost every language due to his world wide influence (Chrisp 62). Today, Shakespeare’s plays are studied constantly and are reinterpreted in diverse cultures (“William Shakespeare” History). Shakespeare presents real human beings with a range of emotion and conflict throughout his plays (“William Shakespeare” History). During Shakespeare’s career, he introduced one
Shakespeare faced some difficulties in his early life. His two older sisters died young, and he barely survived a plague that killed 1 out of 5 Stratford residents. Shakespeare received some education, but likely only up to a grammar-school level. He never left England or attended a university.
William Shakespeare is widely known as the greatest dramatist and writer of all times. Ben Johnson rightly said, “He was not of an age, but for all time!’ . Though so many years have gone by, but still Shakespeare has his place intact as a great poet. In his birth place, he was nicknamed as “swan of Avon”. Biographers do not have exact information on him but they say that he wrote approximately thirty seven plays. These include comedy plays like,” All’s well that ends well’, ‘As you like it’, tragedy plays for example, ‘Othello’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and history plays just to name a few. His plays and poems have taken the world by storm. He has been a very successful writer during his time but very often, this question arises that what makes him so great and what did he used to write that others could not reach up to his level?
The first question about Shakespeare’s work is, Was Shakespeare educated enough to write the plays himself based on his education skill? As published by “Shakespeare’s Education and Childhood”, “Shakespeare began school around the age of six…and finished school around the age thirteen” (para 1-5). Attending school from six to thirteen is not enough time to educate someone good enough to write a play, and especially not enough time to write a world famous play. Picture a six your old starting school in first grade and then finishing school around the age of thirteen in seventh grade, and then they grow up to write a play that is widely known by almost anybody. When writing a play you have to have some type of literary education to write something so phenomenal. According to, “Shakespeare’s Education and Childhood”, “he had to leave school because of his father’s social and economic state” (para 1). Shakespeare had to

No records of his exact day of birth were show, but most believe it was April 23, 1564, but the only record of anything like so are Church records of the day of his baptism April 26, 1564. As a kid growing up, Shakespeare's father, John worked on the farm, he dealt with wood trading, tanning Leatherworking, and quite a few other jobs. This unfortunately led to soon falling into debt around the late 1580's. His mother, by the name Mary, whom was the daughter of Aristocrat landowner, however was at the time studying Catholic Culture had fallen deeply for his father. Shakespeare was the third born child of eight, three of which had died before (3 History//web). Growing up, Shakespeare had no real records of his education. But many believe he was most obviously attending a grammar school. Probably based on his very intellectual writing capabilities. At the age 18

William Shakespeare is highly regarded for his literary works and one of the greatest studied authors in literature. However, there is hardly any record of Shakespeare’s childhood, other than he was born around the time of his baptism that took place on April 26th, 1564, and attended Stratford grammar school, where he studied classical writings and Latin. Though we know very little about his education or what prompted his writings, we do know that around the year 1594 Shakespeare was a member of the Lord Chamberlain’s company of players, (called the King’s Men after the coronation of James I), as a successful playwright. Throughout Shakespeare’s career, he wrote several plays in the genre of history, comedy, tragedy and romance, and
