The civil war was fought between the northern and the southern states from 1861-1865, when the south left the union in 1860 to be able to protect the establishment of slavery. Hence, the United States was divided in two countries with the establishment in the North and the Confederate United States of America in the South. However, the difference between the two countries and the government didn’t allow the slavery in the territories or were not part of the same states. Indeed, the north had more advancement in technology, industry and agriculture, and weaponry. In contrast, the southern states resources were agriculture slaves who were forced to work as farm laborers. According to General Robert Lee, the Confederate lost the American civil war not because they didn’t fight well enough. In fact, the reason why they lost the war was because they didn’t have good machine guns and weapons. What’s more, the union took advantage of the Confederacy by helping the north and lacking the resource of the south and unable them to win war. Moreover, when Abraham Lincoln won the election on November 6, 1860, he was the first president that pledged to keep out slavery from America. The southern states felt they were bullied by the north when he was elected because Abraham Lincoln refused to recognize the Southern States as an independent
