If i had to choose whether we get extended time between classes it would be a no. Because the school days would be longer and it would be more of a mess than it already is, the hallways would be more crowded, and it would make it harder for us to get into our lockers. The school day would be longer because you are wasting the extra time at your lockers instead of in class. You would just be wasting time all you go to your locker is to get your stuff for the next class you go to. And it shouldn't take 10 minutes for you to get your stuff out and go to class. It actually takes me three minutes to get my stuff and go to class. It shouldn’t take you five minutes to get your stuff and go to class except for if you are coming to a different building.
Did you know that the average high school student in today’s society has the same levels of anxiety as a psychiatric patient in the 1950s? According to psychologist Robert Leahy, school these days can get a little tough– especially when most students’ first response to a heavy backpack full of homework is to worry over whether or not it can be done. In the past decade, Leahy and other psychologists have noticed a steady nationwide increase in the amount of stress caused by schoolwork among high school students (Slate Magazine). What does this mean for tomorrow’s leaders and future generations of dignitaries? Scientists have concluded that sleep deprivation, long-term health problems, and declining overall academic achievement are
I also think that for the teachers it would be very hard dealing with kids all day and teaching them they already struggle dealing with kids for the amount of hours we have right now imagine how it would be with more time. It wouldn’t be the end of the world but it would get bad in school unless schools they make school
Students wouldn't be late for class if they had the time to get ready, sleep longer, and eat breakfast. When some students aren't ready, their parent or guardian leaves them behind causing them to either not go to school or be late. There would not be as much skipping school from tiredness and laziness from having to wake up so early, and there would be less zeros in the grade book for late papers. Classes could even do group activities for students being there. Teachers frequently complain about absences, so why not help out with the
It would give the a little space to breathe a minute, and sit with friends. It would take away some of their stress, to sit and talk with some of their friends. Instead of the alternative of sitting there worried over how much time you have, and trying to choke down your food to finish it. Sometimes not even getting to say a word to anyone. Kids already stress enough over their work, and out of school activities, or things happening a home. So why do they need anymore stress? Stress causes kids to do bad academically, because it wears them down, making it hard for them to do their best. Kids might even get a little time to do some of their work at lunch, if given even a little bit of extra time. If you have forgotten an assignment, and you don't have study hall or panther time you're out of luck. Unless you do it at lunch, but with how much time were given now, that would mean giving up eating.
Some students would probably just skip it. And it wouldn't be fair to the teachers to waste their time when no one will use that time wisely. And it wouldn't be fair to the students who actually need this extra time.
Just an extra ten minutes of recess would do a lot for us. There are several reasons our school should have a longer recess. I have three reasons why I think we should have a longer recess. One of my reasons is that we will be less fidgety and more on task. Another one of my reasons is we need lots of exercise and fresh air.
Have you ever had a child stay up all night just trying to finish assignments? Should students lunch and recess be longer? I think so. The kids would have more time to take a break from class and calm down so their not so stressed during class. They wouldn’t have to take in so much information at one time and would be able to remember more of what the teacher is trying to teach them.
As a Salem Freshman, I was required to take a “Signature” Salem class; a class that was “signature” to Salem and Salem alone. These classes were chosen based on a survey given to students before they get their schedules and all of them are rather “worldly”. At the time, I was unaware that the this “Sign” Classes were fully graded and fleshed out classes. I simply chose a class that sounded incredibly interesting without thinking about how well I would actually perform in that field. I chose a class that offered to challenge the way I think about others and how they think; a class that could help me understand people more by showing me how they come to believe things. Despite my initial confusion and eventual grade, I admit that I don’t regret taking the class because what I learned in that classroom was something I don’t believe I would have ever experienced otherwise.
Do you think that kids should have a longer passing period? Do you think that kids need a longer time to get things done? I Believe that kids should have a longer passing period in-between classes.
If an hour and half of school were added every day, students would miss after school activities. Students will miss the fun extracurricular activities. and students won’t get the exercise they need.
Reasons why I think this should be something St. Labre should take into consideration. Study hall is important to me because it is time I get a lot of my work done and ready to turn in the following day, and extending it would just help me get a lot of my work done. Study hall helps me remember to get my work done after school, mainly because my last class is study hall. Therefore, more class time means more time to work on things in class if we have extra time. Longer lunch break seems a bit unnecessary to me because we already have enough time to eat and relax until our next class. But I guess that is something that is nice to do, but just not necessary.
Students should not have more time in the halls because 5 mins. is enough. Think about it you can get your stuff in less than 2 mins. and go to class. These steps do not even take as long as 5 mins. so if schools gave you any longer than you would be standing there in the halls for far too long. Teacher do not like it when you are standing in the halls talking so you maybe in your class rooms in the first 5 mins. and doing you work so if you think it about you are not getting more time in the halls you are getting more time but you most often will be in your class in the first 5 mins or less. So you would have to go longer throughout the day and get in you classes in the same amount of time.
Some people think that we should have an 8 hour school day. Having a longer school could help
One is that students would come back rowdy and get all riled up because they have had an hour to be crazy. But if kids get to talk and maybe run around outside than they can get some energy out and not be wild or rowdy. Another argument someone might make is that kids won’t use the extra time to study. Well from my experience if you have already been studying and students still think that they are going to fail, they will take every extra minuet to study. Whether it’s in a quick break in class or it is reading your notes as you walk down the hall students will do whatever they can to make sure that they are going to
There are several reasons why kids need to go to school but to me, the top three reasons are getting an education helps you go farther in life, it’s required by the state that you go till you reach a certain age, and it will help you learn social skills and help you be comfortable to talking to people. Although students may not like going to school, it benefits them in the long run. It is important for students to go to school to get an education. Even though some students may not like to go to school it is required that they go. Even though students may not realize it but they also learn social skills by making friends and talking in front of people.
