One of the conflicts is my own topic, Hong Kong resisting Chinese oppression, is currently causing governmental instability. Hong Kong is protected by the “one country, two systems” rule and everyone has their own liberty, however, Hong Kong people started realize it is not the democracy that they want by experiencing the way Hong Kong elect a president. Hong Kong citizens don’t have right to vote for president, only certain people in the Election Council can vote. On the other side, animal poaching is not totally terminated even though it is an illegal hunting or capturing animals. Although laws are made for prohibiting animal poaching, a lot of countries didn’t see them as a thing. Not only the target animals get affect by animal poaching, but also the surrounding living things, the whole chain will get affected. This also causes environmental damages.
I think the presentation of desertification and water shortage from Joanna and Melissa is the most completely and simply because the way that Joanna and Melissa choice to present makes their topic clearer. They use a lot of easy words and examples from our daily life, this doesn’t only make the audiences feel relatable, but also catches the audience's’ attention and feelings. For me, I think they are correct when they said clean water is getting less and less because people don’t know how to use water wisely. It makes me think about what I have done to this Earth and bring up my awareness to the problem of water shortage and desertification.
