1William Shakespeare’s longest play that he has ever written is the play Hamlet, it is a depressing but uplifting play that goes into uttermost detail and emotional refinement. This play describes a middle aged man whose father had recently died of an unfathomable cause, shortly after his death the ghost of his father visits him and speaks a message that changed the way Hamlet felt about his uncle. Hamlet learned that his uncle lured his mother into being with him in a lustful way, then after she knew that Claudius killed her beloved husband by putting poison in his ear she made it as if she mourned him for one month and remarried the brother of her recently deceased husband. Hamlet was told to achieve revenge for his dead father, as a …show more content…
First, Hamlet says “that the everlasting had not fixed/ His canon gainst self-slaughter” this proves that Hamlets main character trait would be brooding because this shows that Hamlet was so depressed that he wanted to kill himself but it went against his belief and he was motivated by someone very special to him. Also, this is why Ophelia motivates Hamlet because Hamlet loves and lives for Ophelia. Then, this is shown when Hamlet exclaims “I loved Ophelia. Forty thousand brothers could not with all their quantity of love make up my sum. What wilt thou do for her?,” this shows how much hamlet truly loves Ophelia and this is who motivates Hamlet. One the other hand, like Hamlet Romeo did “Ah, Juliet, if the measure of thy joy be heaped like mine, and that thy skill be more to blazon it, then sweeten with thy breath this neighbor air, and let rich music's tongue unfold the imagined happiness that both receive in either by this dear encounter.” this proves that Romeo and hamlet both a have a brooding as one of their main character traits. Also, Hamlet has a different character trait than Romeo because Hamlet did many things like this for example, “” this showcases one of Hamlet's main character traits, intelligence. In addition, this goad that Hamlet has had came from the motivation of avenging his father. On the other hand, Romeo differs
The northern regions tended to have more religious beliefs. The southern regions tended believe in a church and state separation. According to "The Articles of Agreement, Springfield, Massachusetts in 1636" (Doc D), whoever entered Massachusetts had to comply with the certain articles and orders that shaped a community around God and the share of the land. The “Articles of Agreement, Springfield, Massachusetts, 1636’’ is valid document because it was basic laws. As a result of “The Articles of Agreement Springfield, Massachusetts, 1636’’, the northern region became more religiously involved with society, causing the one region to split into two. Hamlet is considered to be Shakespeare's most famous play. The play is about Prince Hamlet and his struggles with the new marriage of his mother, Gertrude, and his uncle and now stepfather, King Claudius about only two months after his father’s death. Hamlet has an encounter with his father, Old King Hamlet, in ghost form. His father accuses Claudius of killing him and tells Hamlet to avenge his death. Hamlet is infuriated by this news and then begins his thoughts on what to do to get revenge. Hamlet and Claudius are contrasting characters. They do share similarities, however, their profound differences are what divides them.Hamlet was portrayed as troubled, inactive, and impulsive at times. Hamlet is troubled by many things, but the main source of his problems come from the the death of his father. “Oh, that this too, too sullied flesh would melt, thaw, and resolve itself into a dew, or that the everlasting had not fixed his canon 'gainst self-slaughter” (Act 1, Scene 2). In this scene, Hamlet is contemplating suicide, which is caused by the death of his father and the new marriage of Gertrude and King Claudius. This scene shows the extent of how troubled Hamlet is. Even though Hamlet’s father asked him to avenge his death, Hamlet is very slow to act on this throughout the play. “Now might I do it pat. Now he is a-praying. And now I’ll do ’t. And so he goes to heaven. And so am I revenged.—That would be scanned. A villain kills my father, and, for that, I, his sole son, do this same villain send to heaven” (Act 3, Scene 3). This scene shows King Claudius praying, while Hamlet is behind him drawing his sword but decides not to kill
The tragedy of Hamlet by William Shakespeare brilliantly recounts the tale of feigned and true madness as it delves into themes of betrayal, incest, revenge, moral corruption, and death. After assassinating King Hamlet, Claudius succeeds the throne and becomes joined in holy matrimony to King Hamlet’s widow and Prince Hamlet’s mother, Queen

Hamlet is Shakespeare’s most famous work of tragedy. Throughout the play the title character, Hamlet, tends to seek revenge for his father’s death. Shakespeare achieved his work in Hamlet through his brilliant depiction of the hero’s struggle with two opposing forces that hunt Hamlet throughout the play: moral integrity and the need to avenge his father’s murder. When Hamlet sets his mind to revenge his fathers’ death, he is faced with many challenges that delay him from committing murder to his uncle Claudius, who killed Hamlets’ father, the former king. During this delay, he harms others with his actions by acting irrationally, threatening Gertrude, his mother, and by killing Polonius which led into the madness and death of Ophelia.
“O, that this too too sullied flesh would melt, Thaw and resolve itself into a dew, Or that the Everlasting had not fixed His canon 'gainst self-slaughter! O God, God, How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable Seem to me all the uses of this world!” (Act 1 Scene 1, Hamlet) Hamlet’s idea of role-playing was truly important to Hamlet in the play, because it was his way of conducing revenge, for his father’s death. Hamlet acted deranging and irrational throughout the whole play, to cover up his capacity of killing Claudius, who was the killer of his father, King Hamlet. Hamlet’s actions of insaneness, led him to committing many mishaps in the play that completely disarranged his objective of obtaining revenge against Claudius. However, due to Hamlet’s exploitation in role-playing in the play, it precipitated him into temporizing and delaying his ability to obtain his revenge, which effected many characters along the way. Characters like Polonius, Ophelia, Laertes, Gertrude, and Claudius suffered dramatically throughout the whole play, because of Hamlet.

The most character development can be seen from the first soliloquy, to the second, the third, the sixth, and the seventh and final soliloquy. Hamlet’s inner conflict with his thoughts and his actions are well analyzed in his soliloquys, as well as his struggles with life and death, and his very own existence. He begins the play wondering what purpose he has in life now that his father is dead and his mother has remarried to his uncle. After finding out foul play was involved in his father’s death, he is motivated by revenge. The class I will be working with in the fall is 4th/5th grade self-contained, interdisciplinary team combo class in an elementary school in a low income residential area were 82% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Although the school is located in a residential area if one was to drive less than a mile one would have reached a really busy intersection filled with shopping centers and bus stops. The closest library and boys and girls club is actually farther than the shopping center which can be a bad thing but even then these places designed to help enrich students are no more than two miles away. The schools demographics consists of 1.2% American Indian/Alaska Native, 0.09% White, 70.5% Black, and 27.3% Hispanic. 15.25% of the students who were once placed in an English learner class have reclassified while 15.22% still remain in English learner classes. According to the previous teacher who taught the class I will be teaching in the fall, last year she had three English Learners, and six other students who had just been reclassified. There was one serious behavior problem which involved one of the three students identified with a learning disability whom went to Resource. She had another student who seemed to have a learning disability, but the parents refused to have the child tested. At the beginning of the school year one child was considered to be gifted, and by the end of the school year the number had gone up to three. Since it was a combo class and many

Hamlet’s emotions are comparable to a stereotypical modern day teenager. He can be very lively and content at times, but also gloomy and ominous. After hearing that his mother is marrying his uncle only weeks after his father unexpectedly dies, Hamlet becomes overwhelmed and considers suicide: “O, that this too, too sullied flesh would melt,” (Shakespeare 1.2.133). He is restless with the idea that his uncle is now sleeping with his mother. He loves his mother and does not have intentions of hurting her saying, “I will speak daggers to her, but use none.” (3.2.429), yet he assaults her when given a chance in her chamber. Similarly, Hamlet loves Ophelia so that “Forty thousand brothers Could not with all their quantity of love make up my sum.” (5.1.285-287), but he physically and verbally abuses her on many accounts. Hamlet cannot come to a compromise with his emotions towards Gertrude and Ophelia, thus expressing feelings that are bipolar. In the end, Hamlet spends time coping with his feelings of love and enmity, when he should be worrying about Claudius.

The tragedy of Hamlet by William Shakespeare is about Hamlet going insane and reveals his madness through his actions and dialogue. Hamlet remains one of the most discussed literary characters of all time. This is most likely due to the complex nature of Hamlet as a character. In one scene, Hamlet appears happy, and then he is angry in another and melancholy in the next. Hamlet’s madness is a result of his father’s death which was supposedly by the hands of his uncle, Claudius. He has also discovered that this same uncle is marrying his mom. It is expected that Hamlet would be suffering from some emotional issues as result of these catastrophes. Shakespeare uses vivid language, metaphors, and imagery to highlight how Hamlet’s madness
