Some people believe that it is our right to own a gun because of the Second Amendment, while other people believe that owning a gun is harmful to the society. There should be no new gun control laws. The Second Amendment states, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms.” The controversy with guns in this country is that all they are is dangerous, but there is so much more to them. For example there is bullseye shooting, which is only shooting at targets, and no one gets hurt. There is so many good reasons on why you should be able to have a gun so the US shouldn’t make new laws. For example, more gun control is not necessary because according to the Washington Post, gun violence doesn’t happen very often anymore. According to a Pew Research
The 2nd Amendment clearly states that everyone has the right to own guns and that right should not be infringed upon. Some people believe that we should take the 2nd Amendment out of the Constitution because of the recent shootings within schools across the country. We believe that it is important for people to be able to own guns and protect themselves from criminals. Even if guns were banned from being used by civilians, criminals would still be able to get them and use them in a harmful way. We believe that while guns have been used in harmful ways towards other human beings, they are necessary for the protection of citizens. A way to regulate guns would be to decide what guns specifically could be used (such as smaller handguns), who could
The Second Amendment to the Constitution upholds the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Throughout American history there have been many regulations placed on gun ownership, but they prove to be ineffective as almost anyone can obtain a gun through both legal and illegal methods. Many gun control legislations meant to regulate gun ownership have been stalled in Congress. Recent events in the past decade, such as the Las Vegas shooting in October 2017 and the Sandy Hook shooting in December 2012, seem to provide more than enough reason for stricter gun control laws in the United States, but there is not much progress being made to establish stricter laws as both sides of the debate cannot come to a fair compromise. If the United States were to adopt stricter gun control laws, there would be fewer mass shootings, a lower murder rate, and less violent crime. The United States should pursue new gun laws to create a safer environment for everyone.
Imagine at this moment seeing a loved one walking out those doors, perhaps the last time, and later in the day finding out he/she has been in a brutal shooting accompanied with other civilians. People having to think if there’s a way to stop the violence that is happening in the society and there is a way, but it is not enforced. Gun control is needed in this society, because civilians are living in fear wondering if it will be the last time being in this world and having the presence of gun control can reduce crime such as gun trafficking, mass shootings, and homicides.
When I think of a gun that looks amazing usually has a nice blue finish to the metal. That is not the only type of finish there is, but what is the reason behind finishing. When I thought about it before the only thought that came to mind is, to help protect the gun along with the price of the gun would go up. Everyone is looking to make a dollar somehow. If not only with a time but also with skills. I think that’s about all we all could give.
Control is bad. The more control there is the less freedom we have. There are a lot of people that may say that gun control works, the simple fact is that those people do not know the difference between an assault weapon and an assault rifle. A assault weapon is a term used to describe a weapon that shoots one bullet per pull of the trigger, a assault rifle is a rapid fire, automatic weapon designed for the military use and sometimes confused for an assault weapon. Why would we listen to someone who does not have any knowledge about anything on the topic that they are trying to argue.
The United States Gun laws need to be actively strengthened to protect and prevent harm against citizens by creating more thorough background checks, mental health checks, and more licenses specifically for different types of assault weapons. Several mass shootings have been caused by legally purchased guns caused by background checks without intensive research. With stricter gun laws harm and massive tragedies would be prevented or have more protection and safety. New laws and mandates would change the environment of gun safety and protection.
The topic I chose to talk about is a controversial topic in today’s society and that is gun control. The reason why I find this topic so important is because it is a topic that everyone is talking about from the news to social media even famous celebrities have taken sides on this. People always ask will gun control work and the answer is no. The three main topics everyone brings up in debates are; Guns are the main cause of death in America, Guns are easy to obtain anywhere in America, and Guns do not kill people, people kill people. When it comes to death by guns in America it does not even make the top ten reasons of death in America. The major cause of death ,stated by Medical News Today, is heart disease. Well one might say, “well that
What is gun control? Gun control are policies that restrict, posses, or modify the use of firearms. I am against the possession of firearms because firearms have caused many injuries or deaths here in California although we have many rules towards the use of firearms. The use of weapons is not really a necessity for us as citizens the only ones who should be able to possess weapons should be the authority meaning the police, the army, the navy, and etc. Firearms shouldn't have to be fired unless you have to in order to defend you or your family from a serial killer or a maniac.
Another one of my values is safety. Police, fire, and other emergency services should be readably available at all times. Any members acting out towards citizens should be punished through termination, fines, and possible jail time based on offense. With all the police brutality scandals in the news, I find this to be extremely important. All emergency personal should be required to have a chest and dash camera on at all times. Film should be reviewed on a weekly basis in a meeting with the emergency responder. Throughout our country many officers are being called in to question. Often these accounts revolve around a white police officer assaulting and even killing African Americans. More recently, it has even included white supremacists
Gun regulation has been a controversial topic since they were first established as a weapon. People for and against gun regulation provide strong arguments for their side. Gun regulation has fluctuated over time due to changes in office. Being a democracy prevents us from having consistency. As a nation we continue to change regulations on guns because of the different views our democracy allows us to have. The main aspects pose the most problems in gun control are violence, illegal sale of guns, and mental health checks.
People who argue that we should have more gun control focus on things that are not the true issue. I believe that our Society needs to protect its selves due to recent shortage in public safety. If there is any type of emergency, officers response time can mean life and death. Our current gun laws are unclear and can be misinterpreted. A part of our society should not bear arms because of their past offenses, but I believe that we should not make the foundation of our arguments, the irresponsible people who have gained unauthorized access to firearms. The Second Amendment of our US Constitution protects our right to gun ownership. In the US Constitution the Second Amendment says, "A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of
Gun control is a big thing in the world today. Many Americans want it but also many don’t. There are both good reasoning’s and there are bad reasoning’s. Gun control is for our own safety but can also take our safe feelings away by knowing we won’t have a gun in hand to protect us in a real time of need. The second Amendment is commonly used when trying to set up the restrictions and rules of these gun control laws. There are a lot of regulations being set up and still are being made to “keep us safe.” Strict gun laws can be good for American citizens but they also can be life threatening in times. There is a never ending debate on gun control and Americans will always fight for their rights. The government should not be allowed to regulate the purchase on the owning of guns.
My personal views on this particular issue are that if more gun control laws come into effect the violent crime rate involving firearms would not decrease. I highly believe that the second amendment states that citizens are allowed to own a firearm. This of course has to be done with precautions such as background checks and mental health checks. The basis of the second amendment is not for hunting like many believe, but for protection against tyrannical government and enemies foreign and domestic. This was given as a constitutional right, that is stated within the Constitution of the United States. To take that right away from law abiding citizens, can be proven to be very dangerous for not only the citizens, but also the country. Another issue is if
gun control is one of the most controversial topics of today. both sides, for or against it, have their reasons as to why they believe in what they do. gun control is such a major topic that many families disagree, resulting in major conflict. either way, gun control is an important and necessary step we must take in order to improve the society we live in today because the united states has the highest mass shooting rates, there would be less gun-related deaths, and guns are dangerous especially if every person owns multiple weapons.
There should be more laws enforced when it comes to gun control. There are good reasons to limit gun control, and to have them. The right to bear arms is guaranteed in our Constitution, therefore cannot be completely removed from people. Although, there should be stricter policies when anyone is purchasing a gun. Such as background checks, waiting periods to receive firearms, strong handgun regulations and a required safe firearm storage under the federal law. The Second Amendment protects an individual's right to own guns. Guns are intended for self-defense for threats from any sort of criminal. In America 22% of people are owners of one or more guns. The gun control law states that the Second Amendment is intended for militias. That there has always been gun restrictions, including gun owners and support new gun restrictions. Some people will oppose to the idea for more laws to enforce gun control. One idea is that making it more difficult to legally purchase a weapon will make a person unarmed and vulnerable. Another con idea is that no matter what laws are created evil people will do evil things. The right to carry laws have been on the rise since the 1990s, violent crimes have decreased. The number for gun owners has risen by about 100 million. There needs to be more laws enforced when it comes to gun control. Some may say that the public awareness for gun control grew after John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
