Over the years, I have had numerous experiences that have taught me important life skills like perseverance, leadership, personal organization, team building, empathy, and service to others. If I were to be accepted as a member of the Honors College I would share my experiences to influence my peers and add to diverse skills within the campus. Being a part of Honors College will provide me opportunities for intellectual challenge, leadership, and connect with the community of scholars and dedicated advisors and faculty members.
I have a strong desire conduct research during my college years. During the summer of 2014, I assisted former UIC physician Dr. Akhil Maheshwari in neonatology research, on cell-signaling of proteins in neonatal mice to fight a gastrointestinal illness. Scouting has made me a well-rounded person and given me the strength and courage to pursue activities beyond academics by stepping out of my comfort zone to engage in pursuits that I would not have taken otherwise. During my scouting journey, I was exposed to community service, leadership, and team building. In my sophomore year I attended National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) to build and expand on my team building, organizational, planning, and communication skills. NYLT provided me the opportunity and environment to develop leadership and scouting skills that have been paramount in teaching the younger scouts in my troop. Through presentations and positive experiences in goal setting, I learned how to create SMART Goals, planning and problem-solving. I learned effective communication, conflict resolution skills, which I often used to help my crew and I can share these skills with my peers in the honors college

Sitting in Calculus 1152, to my left is an education major, to my right a business major, and behind me is a computer science major. Everyday, I split my time between high school and attending classes at Ohio State. It is through this I realize the diversity and opportunities at OSU. Students from across the state and around the globe with a variety of academic interests live, learn, and work together to become better citizens through education. This diversity, in combination with the breadth of coursework offered at Ohio State, will prepare me well to be a contributing citizen of society.
As a student of The Pennsylvania State University, I have spent time observing my peers on a day to day basis. As a curious individual, I like to see how people act and what they do in and out of the classroom. I have paid close attention to the students within Schreyer’s, and I have even already taken some honors credits where I had the opportunity to work with honors students. Based on my observations, I have found the Schreyer Honors College to stand for three main things: academic achievement, leadership among peers, and community outreach. As a hardworking student, I strive to incorporate these qualities in my life. As a result, I am interested in joining Schreyer Honors College so that I may be able to have more academic, leadership,
Five to ten years from now, I will be obtaining my graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences after having built a strong foundation in chemistry, human physiology, and drug discovery. As a graduate student who aspires to synthesize and test new drugs and therapies, I will be working in a research laboratory or participating in an internship to prepare myself for a future in a collegial environment with other medical professionals. By this time, I would have already spent a semester abroad as a foreign exchange student in France to enhance my French minor studies. As an independent student who will have the opportunity to explore Europe, I will be able to expose myself to a variety of cultures and perspectives so that I could develop an understanding of global issues within the medical field and apply different frames of references to my research.
I plan to contribute and positively impact the experiences of the students, the staff, and the program as a whole by applying myself in a variety of roles to exemplify a model student throughout my participation in the Honors Program.
There are many aspects of the Honors College that made me interested in joining this program: the academics, the community, the extracurricular and leadership opportunities. With the help of the Honors College, I can accomplish many intellectual, personal, and professional goals.
Broad perspective is critical. Without it, opportunities and possibilities are greatly limited. The Honors College is not simply a place to gain perspective, but also a place to provide perspective to others. Interdisciplinary academics, leadership development, undergraduate research, and community & global experiences are the tenets of the Honors College. My experiences are closely aligned to these views; therefore, I feel I can contribute my own

Before I started my first semester of college I made sure that my academic and career goals were set to avoid indecisiveness. Pushing yourself to the limit is my life's model. The Honors Program is way for me to go one step further in my educational career and strive to become the best that I can be. The enriching education that the Honors Program can provide me the push I need to become better. To be perfectly honest, I’m not the most communicative person out there. I’m not a person that talks about what I think and fear if I’m wrong. However, the Honors Program ,with its discussion based seminars, can help me where I lack. I believe that the Honors Program is going to be similar to AP Language class in my junior year. AP Language help develop my humanity with in me. In was my Junior year, I had this burning hatred for the all humanity classes. Though many students
I feel that I am deserving of the scholarship monies because I work extremely hard in school and I always try to do my very best. My whole life school and my grades have been extremely important to me and I have always put them first. I feel that my good grades show that I care about my academics, I'm responsible, a hard worker, and that I want to be successful in whatever I do. If I revieve the scholarship monies I would use it wisely to purchase items such as books and also use it to help pay for my classes. They say that hard work pays off and I just hope that all the hard work that I have put into my academics will pay off in the end and I will recieve the scholarship monies that I feel I am deserving of. If so, I would be greatly appreciative.
I believe I am deserving of this scholarship award because as well as committing myself to academic success, I continue to be an active member of the polish community through volunteer organizations. As an instructor in the polish scouting organization I volunteer my time leading camps on a provincial and national level, and attending ceremonial heritage events. I have also become a member of the McMaster Polish Society. Since entering the program of mechanical engineering, I have developed a keen interest in two branches of this field, avionics and injury biomechanics. There are so many elements that make the honors program so amazing and successful. From the opportunity it gives us to challenge ourselves, to the fact that it makes us stand out when we apply to universities, it is always there to help us positively. However, there is one main element of the honors program that I will always consider the most important and life changing; this
