Why I Chose Art College Research Paper

The definition of art is notoriously difficult and is a field of philosophical inquiry as such. The meaning of the word "art" are multiple, sediment and cross each other in the language. Missing uses of the word are present in expressions and help to make the subject more that difficult. However, according to my studies, art is an expression, a symbolic way to communicate. Its key is to make something subject or scientific, for instance: an object that went through certain modification would be consider an art. We have a different type of arts but I will only be focusing on this tree types: prehistoric art, art of the ancient near east and art of ancient Egypt.

Over the years, I have flirted with visual art. It started with pencil drawing, continued as an affair with marker illustration, then a dalliance with lettering, and I now have a relationship with photography. However, my favorite art will never be displayed in museums or galleries. It is not static and immutable. Rather, my chosen medium is fluid, living, volatile. No matter how well rehearsed, it will never be the same again. That’s the beauty of performance art.

In my honest opinion, I honestly think that college is important for people and there are various reasons regarding college is worth attending. Three of these reasons are that college graduates earn more rather than high school graduates, how college graduates have lower poverty rates than high school graduates, and that the children of college graduates are healthier and better prepared for school.

To get into Ryman Arts, I had to submit several still life drawings and an essay. They accepted me based on my ability early senior year. My acceptance into the program only cemented my career choice in the arts. I did not even hesitate now, this was the path I wanted to follow. Just being accepted into the program validated my efforts so far, that my art work was good enough to be recognized. The classes themselves have helped me improve my artistic ability drastically, as being surrounded by art professors and talented peers have certainly given me a few new views and perspectives towards my art work. My family has been very supportive in my choice of career. For a long time I aspired to become a teacher of the arts. I had always felt it was my duty to share my passion with others. I wanted not only to teach individuals about the color pallets VanGough idealized, but also to show in times of need how art can be your best friend. The first class I took part in was weaving and fibers, and similar to that of playing an instrument, art influenced my life. Weaving and fibers opened up a whole new world I had never experienced; my grandfather built me my own loom, and my whole family became interested in my art projects. After taking my first art class I chose to participate in many more: arts & crafts (twice), ceramics, and stained glass. Art opened up many opportunities for me both socially and intellectually. For me, the reason that why I go to the college is everyone in my senior high school does it.Most of students in Taiwan who have graduated from high school, they go to college rather than find a job. Art. To me is something undefinable, what I want my art to show you is a piece of myself and a piece of yourself. Something we can all relate to; a memory, a song, a poem, art should make you feel something. Art is a gift, a tool we can use to hide beauty in ordinary places and things. As a photography major, it was never clear to me on why I had to take a drawing class. I dreaded each class because of the known fact that I didn’t possess the skills to be a good drawer. When speaking to friends and family, I would always complain to them saying, “I’m going to fail this class. I have no idea why I have to take these drawing classes.” As the quarter went on and the more I learned about the different drawing techniques such as the use of lighting to create interesting shadows or the use of color to create a sense mood and emotion, I began to realize the parallels that drawing and photography have.
