I am going to tell you my Political Ideology in this essay today. I would like to consider myself a Conservative, but the number one thing for me would be what that person said and what they planned on doing. If anything, I don't really care if they are Liberal or Conservative, what really matters is what they are planning on doing, but I guess I'm going to have to decide what I am. A Liberal... Conservative... or Libertarian. The number one reason why I am a Conservative is pro-business. I want businesses to grow more and not go to different countries, because then what would those people do if they lost their job to a different country? They would need to go find a different job. The job quality of the products would, also be iffy. The Asian countries have their way of making products cheaper in less time, but I would rather have something that costs a little …show more content…
If there is any reason why you wouldn't be able to would because you are disabled and are wheelchair bound or can't move. If you aren't working just because then you shouldn't be able to, that’s called being lazy, and there is no room in this world for lazy people! If you are going to be taking tax payers money, then it should be a good reason why. One last point is if you do lose your job, fine, look around for a job, take your time on it, don’t take eight months though, because that would mean you aren't trying hard enough. The third reason why is gun rights, I love to hunt and if someone that doesn't, that’s fine and dandy, but don't try to make guns illegal just because you don't like them! Like some people say "it's not the gun, it’s the person that committed that crime". At the same time, we should have gun control and make sure the atrocious people can't obtain those guns. The only problem is those people that absolutely want to access a gun will get a gun one way or another, and you can't stop
Before the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, liberalism and conservatism were two big ideologies in European society; many citizens were fighting towards liberalism while some were still standing behind conservatism. Meanwhile, many individuals, along with several organizations, were moving closer towards socialist ideals. Socialism’s role in society during the nineteenth and twentieth century changed how various thinkers approached the issues of labor, production, and property.
Upon taking my political party quizzes, it was evident that I was a liberal Democrat. This didn’t come to me as a surprise as my political leanings and viewpoints on social issues have already been quite liberal. I believe that healthcare is a human right and everyone should be protected, no matter their income level or employment status. After all, what good is a community if an individual is all on their own?
Many people have a strong belief in what side they take a part of, but some others may not be as informed, thus putting them in the middle of the two sides. A few of the topics that liberals and conservatives usually have different views on include abortion, affirmative action, death penalty, the economy, education, stem cell research, climate change, gun control, homeland security, healthcare, immigration, religion & government, same sex marriage, social security, taxes, and welfare. Although many college students do not have a full knowledge on many of these topics, they do have enough to form an opinion on them. Their opinions on these tops are usually what persuade them to fall under either the liberal or conservative category.
A controversial subject in America today is gun control; should there be or should there not be. I do not know the answer to this question, but I do have an opinion as most citizen of our country. All trough our history guns have been used for the good of the people, and on the other hand, they have been used for the not so good of the people; however, as with most things there is a good use and a bad use. I believe the good uses out weigh the bad uses in this case. In this essay I am going to discuss three reasons I am against gun control: one being it is our constitutional right to bear arms, two every citizen should have the right to protect themselves, their family, and their property, and three for conservation purposes hunting
While many people believe there should be more gun control and the possibility of banning guns all together, I believe the gun control laws should not be changed. Although there are many reasons that may persuade people to choose to ban guns, I believe that there are several other reasons that lead to all the tragedies with guns in America. Banning guns is not an answer the gun problem in America, there are a few other things that could be done to stop gun violence. In this essay I will tell about why I believe gun control laws should not be changed.
The hardline conservatives are one of the most influential groups in Iranian politics. They have successfully used their institutional control of the Iranian government to continually influence the country’s domestic policies, even when the president is not a member of their coalition. Their platform can be summarized in six key points. First, they are completely devoted to the rule of the supreme leader, who holds absolute power over the country, as an extension of the Prophet and the Shi’i imams. Second, they see their opposition parties, primarily the Pragmatists and Reformists, as acting against Islam for wanting to reform the system that was put in place by the supreme leaders Khomeini and Khamanei. Also, the principles for which the opposition stands for such as human rights, democracy, and trade with other countries are
People’s views on a wide range of issues are influenced or determined by the kind of foundational belief systems they hold. Therefore, the difference in the nature of opinions among individuals or groups of people alludes to the existence of distinct belief systems. In the course of history, the distinction between Liberalism and Conservatism has become more vivid particularly in the political arena where various players have expressed opposing points of view regarding the nation’s future. It is indeed undisputable that the foundational beliefs of Liberalism are diametrically opposed to those of Conservatism. This essay will give a definition of each term and describe how the two oppose each other.
A population’s views on political issues may change as different circumstances occur each day. The environment around us has a powerful influence on the decisions that we produce and the views that we as American citizens choose to hold. After a semester in political science class my views and my political ideology have altered. Today I will explain how political science class has influenced my political ideology.
Beginning with Nixon and continuing with Reagan after the radical changes of American culture in the sixties and seventies, Americans would begin to shift towards more conservative ideas unsure of the rapid radical change. In the 1994 mid term elections, the American people would elect a congress of mostly conservatives for the first time in nearly 50 years. At the core of this success would be the Contract with America. A set of promises and goals devised by conservative congressional representative Newt Gingrich. In 2000 the Republicans (modern conservative party) would retain the Congress and capture the White House. Conservatism has been a leading political ideology since the inception of the United States to
First of all hunting is one of the few remaining ways to control population. If hunting was outlawed in the whole United States that population of deer would rise so much that there would be a huge battle for land to live and build on.
The ideology that best describes me is moderately conservatism. Conservatism is defined according to our textbook By The People: Debating American Government; conservatism is the ideology that defines as “Americans who believe in reduced government spending, personal responsibility, traditional moral values, and a strong national defense” (Morone, Kersh, 2016, p.37). That is to say, the conservatism I will be describing typically leans to a limited government in our democracy, tends to support individualism for every citizen, intervening in certain warfare with military force when an aggressive group is threatening America and keeping religious culture; mostly Christianity within our Constitution.
The ideals and the composition of liberals and conservatives are radically different at times, and yet these same beliefs work together to make up the basic framework of American political thought. They both have the same goals for prosperity and yet they have polar opposite ways of achieving them. Ideologically, they are at odds with the size of government and the role that it plays. Some want big government that provides for people, while others elect for a small government that does not interfere with the lives of people. As is expected liberals tend to vote for certain issues that conservatives will disagree with and vice versa. Of course the issues are not random, each side will vote for and against particular kinds of issues.
2).With 12.5 million hunters in the United States, it seems as though most families have a reason to support hunting rights in country. Safety is a top propriety; new younger hunters are now required to pass a gun hunting safety class. The safety class deals with such issues as proper handling of a firearm, and safety issues and how one must never point a gun at anything that the hunter does not want to kill.“The hunter education course instills in students the knowledge and skill to be a responsible and safe hunter. The basic course consists of 10 lessons during a minimum of 10 hours. Students learn how hunting accidents are caused and how they can be prevented. Hunter responsibility and safety are stressed throughout the classes, which consist of lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, practical exercises, and individual study and activity assignments” (Wisconsin department of natural resources, 2009, p.1). Hunting is also important to the economy of the country in 2006, [125 million hunters entered the woods spending $22.9 billion that would have not went into the economy without hunting. Total cost of hunting equipment for hunting was $10.7 Billion](“2006 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation,” 2006). Which would not have went to local business without hunting. Hunting is not just a pastime in the United States; it is big business
Everyone should have the right to hunt. Eva Shockey says it best, “As hunters, we need to stand strong, unite as one and NEVER apologize for being who we are! We should focus our energy on being the best hunters we can be by challenging ourselves to be ethical, respectful and responsible so as to humbly uphold our proud heritage. Now, let’s get out there and enjoy the great outdoors!” Hunting has been a tradition passed on for generations. Our ancestors hunted out of the need for food. In today’s society it is easier to go to the store and buy meat that has already been killed and packaged. However, it is our duty to hunt to help conserve our wildlife. By hunting within the rules and regulations of the conservation department we help prevent
When it comes to politics I feel very strong in this area of study. I feel that things should be done a certain way and if it isn’t then it isn’t the right way. I will come off the bat to say I am a democrat with a few republican views. I am also going to say that I am liberal also. I feel that change can help the nation and the world out. In my essay I am going to talk about my personal politics and persuade you to think the way I do.
