Garcin is put in a situation where he is begging, banging on the door to leave when the door does open he doesn’t leave. He really wanted to leave but, when faced with the option to leave he stays and starts laughing right after. Inez and Estelle are torturing Garcin which in ironic because, when Inez and Estelle come in they ask Garcin if he is there torturer. They are all in there because of their actions on earth which can’t be un done. Garcin is so obsessed with proving Inez that he is not a coward that he blocks out the trail to freedom. Garcin doesn’t want to leave because his ego won’t let him leave. He cared way too much about what others thought of him and his agony was trying to persuade people what he wanted to be seen as. About five years after the incident doctors discovered the clot and prescribed him medicine which helped him. In need of attention after he had recovered, Gacy would fake heart conditions to be noticed. When Gacy was seven years old he was molested by a family friend who would take Gacy on rides with him in his truck. Gacy never spoke up about the incident because he believed that it would only lead to him being beaten. It is very easy to see why there would be a lack of social bonds with Gacy. Out of the four different bonds: attachment, commitment, involvement, and belief, he did not have any of these. He couldn’t become attached to his abusive father. He lacked commitment and involvement because he spent a lot of his time in the hospital as a child so he could not make any ties to anything outside of his hospital room. He also had no bond to the belief that crime applied to him. This became evident when he stole from a store when he was six, was caught with his friend fondling another girl at school, and being molested by an adult and seeing that there is no punishment for it probably did not help
By protecting the honor of his kingdom and mostly keeping to the rules of his arrangement with the host, he receives only a nick on the back of his neck instead of decapitation. That small wound represents what he learns and his temporary moment of weakness. Little does Gawain know, these events and their messages will stick with him and represent a crucial future developments in his character.
A lack of motivation results from unresolved trauma that prohibits the completion of tasks. Irritability also impacts relationships, causing short-tempered adults (Albuquerque). Gacy suffered from emotional numbness, allowing him to develop relationships with young men and then kill them without remorse. He also acquired triggers that reminded him of his father’s beatings, which would become a reason that he tortured his victims, wanting them to feel helpless. Damage from his childhood abuse impacted his adulthood and his ability to interact with others.

Gerta is trying to tunnel beneath the Berlin wall to reach the other half of her family before she and her brother are found and killed for their “treason.” Now, most middle grade/ young adult books are optimistic almost at a sickening level – but this book does not read the same way. There are a lot of obstacles thrown Gerta’s way, and none of them are easy to overcome. It really helps in both building suspense and keeping the story moving forward where it otherwise could have become stagnant. Another thing that really helps to build suspense is the distrust between all of the neighbors and friends. Practically no one can be trusted in East Berlin, not with the Stasi providing such rewards as freedom for giving up information. So, as expected, Gerta must hide her illegal activities at all costs. So while it can be slightly hard to think that Gerta might actually be killed in the novel because of the intended audience, there is still a sense of danger and pervasive
One key event involves her father. Gabi is one out of three kids in her family's household. Her father's drug problem plays a big part in the way her mother acts. It is as if Gar’s presence energized Edgar to keep moving forward and to not let him drown in the pain he was in without his father’s companionship. Gar’s new appearance, his words, and the memories, are what motivated Edgar to fight for his father’s
Since he is not from old money he is trying to prove himself and find a place where he fits in. Despite the fact that during the last years of his life Gatsby is constantly around people, there are not nearly as many people surrounding him at his funeral when he no longer has the ability to purchase their love.
Gatsby is completely unable to realize that his dream cannot become a reality and in so doing is blind to his own selfishness. He sees his relentless task as noble, honorable, and purposeful--that he will, instead of causing others much pain, benefit their situations. The audience can, however, see the futility of his task and can merely watch as he degenerates and becomes worse and worse as the story continues, ultimately leading to his own death. A pure dream that began with nervousness and desire, ends with placidness and habit. A twisted, warped dream that was once pure and honorable. Fix
I shall be able, to then go into the police academy, and use the skills I learned to make this country safe
Gawain is willing to put his welfare on the line to save his king and friend. He says that he would be a coward and without honor if he lets King Arthur die knowing that all he must do to save him is to marry a woman, although she is quite disgusting.
Mexico, a country full of culture and beauty. However, many have been questioning what kind of government does Mexico really have. There has been debate over the years if Mexico can be considered as a Liberal Democracy. One can believe that Mexico can be considered liberal democracy because their people are not forbidden or restrained from doing many things. Their government treats them like the government treats people from the United States, they are free to do what they want as long they follow the law their government has for them.
Garcin admittedly is in Hell because he was unkind and unfaithful to his wife. He however, does not wish he had acted differently, for he says, “I tell you I regret nothing (p. 24).'; In this
The first temptation of Gawain is perhaps the most difficult for him to defend. This temptation corresponds with the hunt scene involving a stag. In terms of the hunt, the stag is hunted due to it being a staple food, but it can also be mounted as a trophy. In the same sense, the Queen views him as the “stag” she is trying to hunt. Her sexual desire for him is the sole purpose of her “pursuit”. She then tries to guilt him by saying, “A good man like Gawain… could have never lingered so long with a lady without craving a kiss” (p.164; line 1297). She is, in a sense, "hunting" Gawain in that she is pursuing him for the sole purpose of making him her “trophy” but is not flirting with him as much as she does in the next two temptations. If he falls prey to this temptation, then he has failed his knightly honor. In his reaction to the Queen, Gawain acts much like a stag. He first tries to unsuccessfully ignore her. Then, he stealthily avoids her advances, not directly confronting her, but subtly downplaying her advances, until he could attempt to escape.
