Why Do So Many People Legally Change Their Identity?

Identity is a group of characteristics, data or information that belongs exactly to one person or a group of people and that make it possible to establish differences between them. The consciousness that people have about themselves is part of their identity as well as what makes them unique. According to psychologists, identity is a consistent definition of one’s self as a unique individual, in terms of role, attitudes, beliefs and aspirations. Identity tries to define who people are, what they are, where they go or what they want to be or to do. Identity could depend on self-knowledge, self-esteem, or the ability of individuals to achieve their goals. Through self-analysis people can define who they are and who the people around them

What is identity? The definition as a person’s own sense of whom they are, which their past defines them. Identity is very important in our society, no matter your social status. I can attach identity to belonging to something or a place. As a human race, we feel the need to belong to a group or place. Because belonging to a group or place, give us the sense of identity.

What is an identity? Identity is “tied closely to identification; it refers to who you are and the specific characteristics that make you different from other individuals” (Alberts, et. al 55). For example, I am a college student is my identity. Why is having an identity important? Identities are important because they’re our self image. Our identities are created and shaped by the interactions we encounter. Our identities are important when we communicate internationally. People must understand their identity to thrive in society. Identity is the glue that sticks individual and societal forces together to form a communication experiences (Alberts, et. al 54). It is hard to communicate with individuals whose identities are completely different from your own.

What identity means to me is how a person or thing describes itself or is described. A person’s identity is based on their personality and who they are as a person. If a person is kind to other people and helps others this shows the person is caring so one of the person’s identity is that he/she is caring. People might identify themselves by saying that their compassionate, courageous, easygoing, determined, sensitive or even that their independent . Three words that identify me are that I am venturesome, ambitious, and athletic.

Identity. What is identity? One will say that it is the distinct personality of an individual. Others will say that identity is the behavior of a person in response to their surrounding environment. At certain points of time, some people search for their identity in order to understand their existence in life. In regards, identity is shaped into an individual through the social trials of life that involve family and peers, the religious beliefs by the practice of certain faiths, and cultural awareness through family history and traditions. These are what shape the identity of an individual.

As we grow up we must discover who we want to be and how we want to live, but the only way to do that is to discover our identity. Identity is the qualities, beliefs, personality, and expressions that make a person. The process of identity can be creative or destructive. Throughout literature, authors warn us that society has a damaging impact on our identities.

Since identity is so often built from fads, it is a reflection of culture. People want to be like what they see on television and hear on the radio. So people mold themselves to be like the idols they are so infatuated with. It?s always about what?s popular, and by looking at a large group you can tell what that is at any given time, because people like to connect their identities with one another. It creates a sense of belonging and acceptance that humans need in order to feel like they fit into society. People have to be able to bond with one another. Having a vastly different identity makes you an outcast, and no one wants to know how it feels to be the loner. So people alter themselves to ensure that they will

Identity is the all encompassing view of who you are as an individual and contain many different parts such as your goals, values and beliefs as well as your standards for behavior and decision-making (Schwartz, Luyckx, & Vignoles, 2011).

People do many things to fit in with the cool friend group and in society. Why do people treat each other the way people do, why do people most of the time have more than one identity, and why do people want to change their identities.

There is approximately 7.5 billion humans on this Earth, and you are the only one with your identity. You are the only one who smiles the way you do, thinks the way you do, and lives life the way you do. But what exactly is identity? Identity is basically who you are as a person. There are many ways to forge an identity, you were born with an identity and as you live life, you learn more about yourself.

Identity is defined as the fact of being who or what a person or thing is. A person should be able to define their own identity, but it sometimes seems as if others define it for us. But when it comes down to it, we are merely who we want to be, even if it is influenced by others.

There are over a billion people that live on this planet. Every person has a label that describes how they live, act, and dress. That label is called an identity. An identity is something that is giving from a parent, teacher, friend, or yourself. Fingering out your identity can take years, but once found people become better citizens. People that I hang around describe me as an energetic, down to earth person. Unlike my parents and friends, I define myself by my quietness around people.

Identity is what I believe the thing that makes up all human beings. Everybody has an identity, some just aren't as brisk to comprehend what it is or what it means. Identity is generally what someone's traits make up and in my case, I believe I am benevolent, venturesome, and optimistic. Some of the qualities I consider myself to have are not what I would have considered myself to be last year. I believe life lessons that someone undergoes can change their identity and the way they come off drastically.

Identity is like a flower. The flower has a strong stem to help it stand up. The flower has many petals that make the flower what it is. The flower relies on the environment to help it flourish. Many people try to figure out who they are, when really, identity forms when it’s least expected.
