Why Do So Many People Legally Change Their Identity?

Many people from all around the world question their identity, but many of them don’t even know what identity is in the first place. Identity states who someone is as a person in society. It shows who they are and what they are like. Identity is the thing that states who people are in life, for example, how they only have one identity, why they can’t change it, and how some identities influence others’ identities.
In the first place, people only have one identity to define who they are. No one has more than one identity in life, for example, people can have multiple personalities, but identity and personality are two extremely different ideas. In the book The Outsiders, Ponyboy Curtis doesn’t understand who he is, but he is the different around everyone so they know him as the loveable kid brother of Darry and Sodapop, or one of the shaggy, lowlife Greasers. People will try to change who they are but it’s close to being impossible. They can change their name, the way they act, the way they dress, but none of that is your full identity. An article titled, “Why Do So Many People Legally change their name?”, written by the corporation Vice, states that about 85,000 people change their name thinking it changes who they are, but they haven’t done anything to actually change themselves. This proves that large amounts of people want to do something to change them. Many people know, the ones who change themselves might do it because they are insecure about something about them which may make someone around them have that same insecurity, but that isn’t necessarily
