I believe that humans should have no involvement with wildlife. People affect the wildlife in bad ways. Humans need to keep a closer eye on the animals if they decide to put them in a zoo. We need to make sure that the animals that are there aren’t getting bored or going crazy. People have died because of this. Humans also shouldn’t hunt animals for things that they have, such as an elephant's tusks. Here are some reasons why we should have no involvement with wildlife.
We need to keep a closer eye on zoo animals. We take animals out of their natural habitat and put them in smaller enclosements. Because they are used to being in big, open fields, they may get a little bored or resort back to their natural instincts. Animals such as tigers
One of the most fun, visually amazing functions to visit are zoo's. Growing up as a kid going to the zoo was so much fun and basically guaranteed a great day out. People have been complaining and questioning the role of zoo's for a long time now. Some claim that it actually kills the animals off faster. Others claim that zoo's actually help protect and preserve the lives of these animals. Only one can make a reasonable argument by studying sources, and finding out statistics. Based off of the articles, "The Stripes Will Survive", "The Zoos Go Wild", and "Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment", we can truly get in-depth analysis about the role zoo's play.
Zoos take giant roles to protect animals. In the magazines I read, "The Stripes Will Survive", and "The Zoos Go Wild," and the video that I watched called "Behind the Scenes with the National Zoo's Lion Cubs.", there are ways that they help the animals.
Zoos may seem fun to visit and exciting to see the animals; but what you don’t see is the suffering and depression that lies in these helpless creatures. There are many arguments whether or not zoos are good or bad, and if they should be removed or kept. Several think that zoos should be abolished or at least very much improved, due to animal cruelty. While, others want zoos to stay because it is beneficial for the animals and people. I strongly believe that zoos aren’t good for both the public and animals for numerous reasons.
There have been a lot of problems with animals in zoos. It has gotten to the point where zoos are hated and looked upon as a places of animal torture. Are zoos really that bad? Turns out, they are. They do not have enough space, they do not allow the animals to communicate with each other, and they sell the animals to cruel circuses.
First of all, what are zoos? Many people said that zoos are a great place of entertainment because they can take their families to see lots of exotic animals that you only get to see in books or on TV. Other said that zoos could be described as some collections of animals found in nature. Of course, all these opinions are true because for me going to the zoo has been always a great place to learn and also have fun in company of my family. In addition, I’ve found that all animals in the zoo have different personality. For instance, the last time I went, and I spent a lot of time watching the gorillas. I could noticed how all four gorillas that I watched are totally different. For example, Zuri the silverback gorilla show had been the leader of the group because he was the largest gorilla and have strong arms that make him to walk upright. However, there have been both good and bad point or opinions about zoos. In brief, for me zoos have more advantages than disadvantages because the purposes behind keeping animals in detention are associated with positive educational needs, research, recreation and conservation. But the question whether animals should be kept captivated or not will be always in a debate.
In the article The Future of Zoos, Justin Worland discusses the future of zoos so animals will be more comfortable in their environment. The Zoo360 is trying to change animals captivity by adding walkways/bridges for tigers. Animals are smarter and fell more than we knew and may suffer and may suffer when removed from their habitat in the wild. Coe developed a strategy to give animals natural vegetation, room to walk/roam, and big amounts of light. Hancocks has improved zoos a lot so that the animals are more comfortable in their environment.
Zoos have been entertaining people with exotic animal collections as far back as 1500 B.C. The purpose of zoos is to educate people on endangered animals and different animal species. Sadly, zoos aren’t always educating people. A lot of people use them for entertainment purposes. Zoos need to be sure that they are helping these animals. Along with educating people on these wild and endangered species.
Humans have the responsibility of looking after our animals, and in an ever changing world, zoos play a key role in educating people and raising awareness for
Did you know that many zoos hold conservation projects around the world in order to reintroduce endangered species into the wild? If not, this is just one of the many reasons that zoos are very necessary. Zoos can be very beneficial for the public’s education, and to the environment. These zoos are able to preserve the life of many animals, that would otherwise have gone extinct due to humans destroying their habitats. Some people may argue against zoos by saying that they treat the animals inhumanely, or that the animals can become depressed. While these opposing arguments have some validity, zoos are needed in order to keep alive the ecosystem, to educate the public and provide research for scientists and developers.
Zoos are an unnatural environment for animals. Despite the benefits that may appear to come from zoos, wild animals should not be held in captivity. “A zoo can teach you a lot about how animals behave in captivity but will teach you very little about the behavior of animals in the wild” (2017). Although thought to be educational, zoos are not the best way to learn about animals. Zoos are said to help endangered species by using captive breeding and release, but research shows that captive breeding isn’t always effective. Zoos do not provide natural habitats and put unnecessary stress on animals.
Some people agree that animals should be kept in the zoo. They said it would be safer for the animals and they won’t be extinct. The amount of possibilities of them dying, shot by hunters or any other reason, still higher than the chances of their survival. Food and shelter are provided, medicine, and their breeding is being controlled. And many of the wild animals in zoos are ones that are on the endangered list as their amounts are rapidly diminishing. Letting them loose and returning them to the wild is not necessarily a safe option. (Mylot, 2007) In fact, zoo can be one of the educational studies for children and people who are interested with animals. Zoo is the only place that we can have an opportunity to see animal’s life really close and sometimes we can touch them. Zoos also provide lots of information about certain animals, children can have chance to get out of the classroom and learn so they can see natural beauty from different species of animals. Even children can see them from discovery channel but that’s really different if you see animal in real world, for an example, if you see crocodile, snake or shark in the movie, maybe you won’t afraid than you see the real one. According to Tudge, (1992, p.56) Zoos are the place where people can study animals and their habitat, even scientist don’t need to go
In conclusion, zoos are harmful in many ways. They cause mental illnesses, physical pain, and no protection. Thus, zoos should be banned and shut down. No one wants to be stripped from their home or taken away from their family, so why do this to innocent animals for our own selfish reasons? After all, we are all creatures on this world, the difference being how many legs we walk on. We all have feelings; we all have needs, but most importantly, we all have a heart.
Zoo animals are also kept in small spaces. Animals such as elephants and tigers roam large areas which should never be held captive. The animals become agitated or depressed when they’re confined. Furthermore, statistics from 1990 show many attacks and deaths caused by zoo animals.
Should humans be involved with animals? No because people get hurt at zoos. When people get hurt at zoos they start to hate the animals. Tigers have gotten out of containment and ate people's arms and legs off.
Although there is disagreement regarding the proper human relationship toward the rest of the natural world, most conservationists can agree that biological diversity is valuable and that the extinction of species should be avoided where possible. In most developing countries survival is dependent on the extraction of natural resources. Therefore it isn’t surprising that this raging debate is based on the value certain species have for people. Animal conservation is a program most zoos take part in to conserve and save the native animals in their area. They are doing their part to boost the animal population that is still living free in the wild.
