Why Cellphones have a more Negative Impact on Society than Positive There has been a lot of controversy over use cell phones along with the positive and negative impacts that it has reflected on society. Today, cell phones are used for numerous amounts of things that could play a role into a person’s everyday life. Cell phones could also be overpowering when not being used for certain things. Therefore, it is truly up to the individual on how they interact with their cell phone or smart phone. Cell phones sometimes come in handy even in unexpected situations. The lock screen on majority of smartphones has an emergency call option located on the screen for a quicker way instead of unlocking to dialing “911”. For example, if a person is in an emergency situation or if there is an emergency that has occurred around them, they could easily pull their phone out and press the emergency button within seconds. This method is a lot more effective to use without having to go through a hassle of putting in the lock code to unlock the phone. When a person is not in need of emergency assistance the emergency call option is normally useless. It could also be pressed by accidently if a person is not paying attention to what they’re doing. Each and every day a cell phone user is putting their lives in risk while most of them don’t even realize it. Cell phones are not only affecting people’s health but its putting their life in danger also. People tend to zone out everything around them

Although cell phones offer convenience, they arguably come with negative affects. Cell Phones have become one of the fastest emerging technologies (Campbell, 2006). But let me tell you something, as many of us use our phones daily, do we ever stop and think it might affect our body? No because we are so into social media and playing games that we don’t have time to think that it’s going to affect us. People say that phones are safe and other say they aren’t. I say that they can be safe at some time it can also depend what you do, and how long you use it for. Therefore, many of us get distracted easily and it’s pretty hard to get back on track. In 1973, the first portable cell phone was discovered, due to the cause that cell phones may not be safe at some time cell phones are also very important because in case of an emergency you will have a device with you.
Ever since cellular phones first came to be in the 1980’s, people have been using them to carry out conversations, ask questions, or meet new people. Once cell phones reached a height of internet capabilities, smartphones were created. Cell phones from then on ended up changing society entirely. This research study could explain the effects of cell phones from their creation to today’s society and how they would influence the future generations. In the world today, cell phones are being used more than ever before. Everywhere you go, cell phones are present, and its users range from almost all ages. There is no avoiding the fact that cell phones are a prominent way of communication. They have become so influential in peoples’ everyday lives that many can not imagine life without a cell phone. Cell phones are not necessarily a bad tool, when used in moderation. Cell phones are changing the way people communicate and the way they live their everyday lives.
I believe we all notice that as the technology developed, the cell phone starts playing an important role in our life and it takes a large part of our time. About twenty years ago, Steve Jobs didn’t sell cell phone, Apple only represented the new fashion computer and of course, no one was using the cell phone as a social method. However, only twenty years later, cell phone technology exploded, Jobs becomes a legend, Apple become the most famous company because of its i-Phone. Cell phone now replace letter, television, book, computer, even our friends. No doubt that cell phone is a convenience in our life, but when people start getting addicted to the cell phone that’s bad news to everyone. Today, I want to advocate that people should reduce the overuse of cell phone because the cell phone can damage our health and isolate people.
Cell phones are so much more than just an electronic. They are huge parts of our personal welfare. Cell phones are used to call for help, make appointments, contact loved ones, set reminders, and so much more. If you get lost somewhere, you have navigation right there in
Technology has advanced over the years, causing our lifestyle to change drastically and head down a new path. With these advances in technology, the cell phone appeared and has evolved throughout time. The cell phone has become a necessity to many. All ages use this mobile device for either personal or business use. Higgins states that the amount of cell phones active has increased from “one billion in 2000 to 6 billion.” Although cell phones play an important role in the lives of many, the negative possibilities could cause destruction to our society.
While many people say that cell phones are useful, their flaws outweigh their benefits. For example, people may think that using their cell phone while driving a car or train is normal, but what they do not know that it causes deaths, “25 people died and 130 were injured in a train crash near Los Angles. The cause, apparently, was a cell phone” (Saletan). Cell phones cause deaths in trains, just like how it causes deaths in cars. This shows why cell phones are not good as some people may think they are. Nowadays people say that cell phones are a way to communicate, but in reality they are decreasing the interaction between people by using text messages instead of face-to-face conversations. Today, face-to-face conversations are needed instead of text messages, so the interaction between people increases. Cell phones should not be overused and
Falling phone and plan prices have made cell phones available to the masses and the development of so-called smartphones has given users even more power in the palms of their hands. While it is fairly easy to see the advantages of cell phones and smartphones, these devices are not without their disadvantages too.
At work or at school cell phones are a constant presence in people's everyday lives. From the urge to check the phone when it vibrates to the struggle of wanting to look online cell phones are a constant distraction. Fifty years ago people never had access to looking on someone's facebook or reading that ever so important text message. People had to write letters or had to go up and talk to people. Not to mention, teachers or bosses never had to yell at students or employees for continually being on their cell phone. For example, teachers are now forced to make students put their cell phones in a different area of the classroom because they fear students will always be on them.
In today’s world, there are many distractions that remain prevalent in simple everyday occurrences. Amongst these is the use of cell phone whether you are simply walking down the hallway absorbed in a conversation or you are behind the wheel driving down the highway. Cell phones, no matter the context, are a major distraction. They have managed to pull us away from spending time with our families and are appearing in places they are not prevalent such as family dinners and behind the wheel of a car.
