- William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft, gave birth to Mary Shelly. They significant amount of attention for their radical writing and the fight for equality in men and women. The two were also known for their amazing literary works like, An Enquiry Concerning Political Justice and Vindication of the Rights of Woman. Shelly’s husband was Percy Bysshe Shelley. Afterwards she got pregnant with his child at a delicate age. He was already married, but still had an affair with Mary Shelly. This made Percy’s first wife commit suicide. Percy was also known for publishing the literary works, Zastrozzi and St. Irvyne.

Frankenstein was Mary W. Shelly’s first book. She originally made the story to tell to her friends during a story telling competition and her friends thought that it was so good they urged her to write the story down and publish it. After some convincing, she finally did. Frankenstein tells the story of Doctor Frankenstein, who pieces together body parts from a cemetery and creates a monster. Mary known that her spent the rest of her life writing to support her family; she also wrote essays, short stories, and travelogues. The most famous of her novels is Frankenstein. Some argue that Mary Shelley did nothing shy from pouring her soul and heart into the novel Frankenstein. Mary states that the novel was built off the happier times in her life, yet signs of negative feelings, anger and jealousy can be found throughout the novel. In the 18th century novel Frankenstein you can see many incidents where Mary Shelley’s life was reflected into the writing. The novel itself was set in multiple locations such as Geneva and England. I thought that the film, Tomboy was okay. Personally, while watching the film, it didn't seem to show much of the character Lure, who was fighting for her gender identity. While watching the film there often would be times where a scene was being dragged on way too much, making the film very boring. The film had so many scenes of Lure and her family just sitting around never really communicating with the issue at hand. The message of the film was clearly being missed throughout the film, where Lure had the opportunity to be able to vocalize this issue.
