Elie heavily struggles to survive in the camp, yet he never abandons his father. Cholomo, his father, deteriorates with time, however, Elie never leaves Cholomo because he is Elie’s only reason to live. The only thing that matters to Elie is protecting and keeping his father. After three days upon arriving at Gleiwitz, Elie and Cholomo go through a selection, a process in which the weak are sent to die and the strong to live. The doctor sends Cholomo to the left side with the weak prisoners, however, Elie follows his father and creates a disturbance. This confusion allows Elie and Chlomo to flit to right

Night is about a kid named Elie Wiesel a Jewish boy that is sent to a concentration camp with his father with very little rations of food and treated like animals the have to survive the horrible beatings the Hungarian army give them for misbehaving.
Night begins with the narrator, Elie, talking about Moishe the Beadle, who is described as the “jack-of-all-trades” in a shtibl (Weisel, 21). He then continues by talking about his family. He goes back to talk about his deep conversations with Moishe and their evenings spent together. One day, the foreign Jews of Sighet, where he lives, were expelled. This included Moishe. They were taken away in cattle cars by the Hungarian police. Months past and one day, Elie saw Moishe sitting on a bench near the synagogue. He tells Elie about what happened to him; how he and the other Jews were transported and forced to dig their own graves in the forest. Luckily, Moishe had managed to escape. He had come back to warn the Jews in Sighet of what to come.
Is changing your personality a good or bad thing? Many people gained new traits and evolved due to concentration camps. They did this to survive. One of the people that had to change their personality to survive was Elie Wiesel. In “Night” by Elie wiesel, the main character, Elie, changed as a person due to his experiences at Auschwitz.
Furthermore, the title of a book can reference what happens during the book. Elie Wiesel chose the title Night to show how this was a dark time in his life. On page 37, Elie says, “The student of Talmud. . . had been consumed by flames. All that was left was a shape that resembled me.” (Wiesel) The title Night is referring to the dark time in Elie’s life. If this book was titled Day or Dawn, some of the things that occur in this book wouldn’t be seen be seen by the reader as violent. This quote is when Elie is in Auschwitz during the first night. When he arrived, a part of himself was gone. This was when he started losing his faith. The title of a book can change how things are viewed by the reader. An author may choose the book because of something the characters do or something that happens to the characters. In Elie’s case, it was because of what happened to him in the concentration camps.

An important nonfiction book that I think everyone should read is Night by Elie Wiesel. This book was published in 1960 by Hill and Wang. It has 116 pages and it is told by a man who survived the Holocaust. This was a very important moment in history that everyone needs knowledge on.

Other animals don’t think about wiping out entire races or species just for kicks, most species don’t have the urge to attempt genocide or even turning on their own kin, but humans do.
