These are three subjects about the colonist and why they had a tough before the revolution. This is a essay about the colonist wanting to be patriots and not loyalist because of the events that happen. The three subject that this essay political freedom, economic well being, and being protective.
One of the subjects that I'm going to start on Political freedom. The first political freedom subject that i'm going to talk about is the townshend act and that this was an act in parliament 1767 great britain. The townshend act was named after Charles townshend. Also the townshend act was important because it gave the colonist six new laws that they had to follow. The next subject that is apart of political freedom is the intolerable act. The intolerable act was after the the boston tea party and because the boston tea party was so outrageous to the british government that the intolerable act passed new laws that was harsh for the colonist. Lastly the last subject for political freedom is taxation without representation. This was a major subject in the American Revolution because was a slogan about the colonist because some colonist thought that they were not directly represented in the distant of the british parliament.
This next argument is on the colonist Economic well being. The first subject on economic well being is the Quartering act the Quartering act was good for economic well being because this gave the british troops shelter, supplies, and food which saved money. The next subject in the Tea act. The tea act was when they lowered the price on tea by letting east india company ship directly to the colonist pior.
As we know, during the years 1775 to 1783, a war between the Thirteen Colonies and Great Britain was underway. This was known as the Revolutionary war. The basis of this war dealt with rights. The Colonists felt as if their rights were being infringed upon by the Kingdom of Great Britain. The Brits on the other hand believed the contrary, they felt as if the Colonists were actually in debt to them following the French and Indian War. The French and Indian war took place from the years 1754 to 1763, a trivial battle in which the Colonists prevailed with the help of British intervention. The main argument that would result in the revolution, was the question of British intent. Many would argue that Britain had no intention of helping the Colonists, and their intervention was indirect. British would argue that regardless of the intention, the outcome would not be possible without their actions, and for this, the Colonists must repay their debts. After a flurry of
It affected them geographically, by sparking an interest into getting rich, and it also threw light on the idea of trade routes/ trading, which gave people the reality of “ striking rich”. The colonists were also affected economically. Once the colonists were introduced to mercantilism. Soon, Merchants believed that the world's wealth was finite and that one nation could only grow rich at the expense of another. The merchants practiced this by extracting and importing wealth from foreign lands while exporting little wealth from home. Much of the growth of the American colonies came from religious groups. There were many problems between catholics and protestants, such as when Lord Baltimore ( business owner) adopted a policy of religious
The reasons behind the sudden transition of England and it’s American colonies from allies to enemies is still debated today. When the colonies were first created they had a somewhat dependent relationship with the British. Trade was regulated through the British homeland while the British provided structure for the developing colonies. As salutary neglect came into play, the colonies became more independent in their ways by developing their own governments and laws. After the French and Indian War, the British economy dropped due to war expenses. The passing of the Stamp Act and all the taxes to follow were an attempt to create revenue for the British. This created tension between the colonists and the British government. The British government caused rebellion by trying to tax the colonists in ways that had not previously been done and by trying to control the colonies more closely than it previously had. The colonies were justified in waging war and breaking away from the British due to the unfair tyrant, burdensome taxes, and the aggressive behavior of the British.

Question 2. That the colonists wanted more independence to be equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities and they were willing to fight for it. The colonists had enough and were taking matters into their own hands. The Colonists were willing to make forceful or violent efforts to get the equality and independence they wanted. Another common theme during all the protests were destruction of English property.
For a better part of the eighteenth century, the American colonists expressed vexation and disapproval of the "coercive " acts, which the British Government perpetrated on the colony through series of legislative acts by the British Parliament. Prior to the acts that the colonists in America termed as atrocious and oppressive, they were willing to cooperate and reaffirm loyalty to the King of England. Some of the legislations and declarations that colonists participated in was the sustenance of British soldiers in the colony, payment of import tariffs and other forms of taxes to support the British central government. These are but a few, the reasons as to why colonists objected to the mode of British rule in America. Another concern was the "Rights violations" by the English government regarding economic progress and representation. Because of these grievances, British colonists in America stepped up agitation through violation of the "tyrannical" Acts and petitions through the Continental Congress. The essay explores the grievances that Colonists in America held against the British government, in riposte to "My Dear America Cousin" letter.
1.) The idea and establishment of freedom arrived from the social and political experience in American history. Historical movements such as the civil war and cold war, provoke freedom and self-determination in the mind set of beings. Political freedom in the nineteenth century triggered many to obtain their goal to vote, to gain their own rights. According to Foner, “the evolution of civil liberties, or rights that individuals can assert against authority” is what ignited the idea and practice of political freedom. Overall there are many vague and complex definitions of freedom, however the use of it has been dependent on conflicts in American history and revolution.
Before the American Revolution, there are several British Colonies in the Americas. Not all of them participated in the revolution. There were 13 clones which ended up rebelling. These were Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Mary land,North Carolina, South Carolina, New Hampshire, New York, and Rhode Island. The colonists wanted to be free from the England. They started to fight the soldiers of the English army in 1775. The Americans started a war with England. We call it the Revolutionary War. The American Revolution was on April 19, 1775 and is called the “shot heard around the world” It was named that because the hand draw action of the battles of Lexington and concord an the siege of Boston
The British have been the source of American trade since the founding of the colonies. Colonist had a slight fear always on their mind of the British revoking that help. When colonist thought of breaking away, they also considered the dire situation they could put themselves in. While in America, there wasn't any form of government to help with trade, so the fully relied on the mother land. With Britain's knowledge of this, the colonist thoughts shifted and they viewed their mother land
An individual's thoughts and feelings are two major elements which influence that individual's approach towards living his or her life or overcoming the obstacles he or she faces. In addition, both the thoughts and feelings of an individual are dependent variables on his or her surroundings and circumstances. When analyzing the American Revolutionary War with the mindset of an American Colonist, one becomes more understanding of how the patriotic forces felt and acted due to their surroundings and circumstances. When I analyzed the war with a mindset of an American Colonist, I developed a more pessimistic view of the American forces winning the war because they were inferior to the British Army in ammunition, health, military experience, and
Political freedom is when a nation's citizens can freely participate in political dilemmas. Economic freedom is when people are able to trade and buy with any person of their choosing. The limits England set on political freedom in the colonies was that each colony had its government, but the British King controlled all of these governments. By 1770, colonists were angry because they did not have a form of self-government, and the king was still the most powerful. With this, the colonists could not make their laws, govern themselves, and pay very high taxes to the king.
As free Americans living on American soil, we are thankful for the changes throughout the history, which resulted in the country we have today. It is said that one instance of change was the American Revolution. This change, though, did not come to most groups of people right away .The American Revolution was in fact not revolutionary for most minority groups such as the Indians and African Americans, a start for women who would wait long years for their results, and either a downgrade or upgrade for the economic status of legislative representatives.
The freedoms and opportunities enjoyed by the colonists after the American Revolution were not simply established as much as they were fought tooth and nail for. The colonists between the 15th and 18th century faced much turmoil in which they had to overcome in order to become the success they sought after. Many of these freedoms and opportunities came at a cost to other people and cultures as the colonists paved their way to a new society. To gain full benefits of their freedoms, the colonists would also have to explore new ideals to shape the way they run their lives in order to be true successes. These successions can be tied back to the first Native American treaties.
The American Colonies for the past 20 years have become accustomed to living a thousand miles from their sovereign, the King of England and Parliament. This separation from “monarchial” control and power has created a tough and independent society, which although they believe themselves to be subjects of the crown, has molded an experience and lifestyle unlike any found within the “Crown’s” realm. Subsequently, these differences in lifestyles bond both Mother Country and colony on a path that veers from the typical empirical rule that has ruled the known world for the last century.
Another theme of the text is "fear". Fear of loss of liberty in their homeland drove many colonists to begin thinking in Revolutionary terms, as previously mentioned. There was also fear on the English-side of an American rebellion. Fear is what drove England to force a standing British Army on the Americans. These fears would not subside and would eventually lead to war as neither side would back down.
