Death is inevitable; however, many die earlier than they should whether by accident or on purpose. Many deaths in Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” came to be earlier than expected. Macbeth’s downfall was impending, but due to Lady Macbeth’s encouragement and reassurance for Macbeth, the witches’ ominous and malevolent prophecies, and Macbeth’s detrimental ambition, it had been a much more tragic and quicker death. His association with Lady Macbeth, the witches, and his own ambition explicably led to his downfall.

Macbeth’s first meet with the witches is worse than his second. Macbeth was doomed ever since he met the witches; they knew how Macbeth’s fate would play out. If Macbeth had never faced the witches, he could have lived a non-tragic life, for it was the new of he becoming king that led to his actions; had he not been informed of the news, he may have kept to himself and not pulled any rash acts. Macbeth was so fearful of losing his position due to Banquo’s prophecy, his ambition led him to plan the murder of Banquo and his son. He feared Banquo knew too much, “Our fears in Banquo stick deep and in his royalty of nature reigns that which would be fear’d” (3.1.50-52). In the beginning he relied on the witches’ prophesy, but Macbeth soon realized that things aren’t what they seem. He gained a new perspective, and truly focused on his desires to become king.
