It was a warm summer evening, Crate was laying down while John was working on his work project. Crate felt different, she felt ill. Her stomach hurt...a lot. “What’s wrong honey?” “I think, I think..” “You think what?” “I think my water just broke!”. He immediately shoved her into the car and drove her to the hospital. When they got there it was almost too late. She was in labor for hours. John had gotten so worried that he broke into her room and held her hand. “Why are you here?” Crate asked, “Did you hear what the doctor said?”. “No,” John said as he went towards her bed “What did he say?” Crate thought about if she should tell him the truth or not, it was too risky but, she had made her decision. “The baby~~~She’s not going to make it..”.
Trent James was sitting on his bed reading a book. “Trent! Go buy a loaf of bread and a jug of milk.” “Here’s $.50 to get you and your sister some candy.” Trent went to his cooking mother and got the money, then left for the grocery store. Trent was walking down to the local supermarket, which was one block from his house when he heard a squealing animal. It was near, yet distant. He looked over to the playground and started walking to it. He heard the crying sound again. He looked under the slide and saw a puppy crying. He scooped it up and looked for a collar. He didn’t see one. Trent then carried the dog home. “Mom. I found a dog”, Trent said. “A dog?”,Trent’s Mom said. “Yes, a dog.”,Trent said again.
She was devastated. Her Mama was sick, and she was going to die if they didn’t get a doctor. Elaine was so busy crying that she did not notice when Michael Butler walked in. He walked over towards her, and asked her what was wrong. Elaine didn’t really mean to tell Michael, but all the words just poured out; Losing the field, her Mama getting sick and that they couldn’t afford a doctor to help her Mama. Michael felt so bad for Elaine, and he wanted to help her. But how? Even his family was running low on money. Then an idea struck him. His Papa could take care of Elaine’s Mama! Michael wasn’t sure if his Papa would do it, but he could at least try. After school that day Michael went home to talk to his Papa. He explained the situation to him, and at first Papa did not want to go. “They obviously can’t pay me to take care of Elaine’s mother, what would I get out of it?” said Michael’s Papa. Eventually, Michael persuaded his Papa to do it, “Can’t you imagine how sad it would be if Elaine’s Mama died?” he
On the way home I thought about asking Soda about my essay. I knew Soda would tell me that “it was perfect and that I was so smart”, Darry would say “it needs more information”. When I walked into the house Soda had a weed and a letter in his hand, I thought to myself “It’s very strange for Soda to smoke.” He only smokes when he needs to calm his nerves. When i looked at his face closer he looked happy but mad. I asked “What’s wrong.” He didn’t reply, so I sat down next to him and the letter was from Sandy! The letter said “ Hello Soda i’ve missed you.” “There is something very important that i should have told you a long time ago.” “ I lied when I found out that I was pregnant I was so happy but, I thought that it would hold you back from being you.” That’s when I decided to move to Florida. “ I made you believe that the baby was someone else’s when it’s actually yours.” Right now your baby girl is five months old.” “ Soda i’m really sorry for any pain I caused but, if you want to see her I will give you the money for you and your brothers to come see her.” “ From Sandy.” Soda quickly crumbled up the paper and ran out the door. Shortly after that Darry was home from school.
A day after eight year old Ashton’s birthday, he finds his father and complains that something just isn’t right. “I don’t feel natural” Ashton told his father. “Why? What do you mean?” “I wish I was born a girl.” as she turns away running into his room, bawling his eyes out. Thomas chases him to his room saying “Hold on little buddy what’s the matter”. Once again the boy still crying intensely says “I’m not a boy! I want to be a girl!” and then buries himself in his pillow. Thomas calls for Julia, and she rushes in “What’s the matter?”. Once again the boy responds with “I want to be a girl! I’m in the wrong body, I hate this body!”. The father worried but for some reason angry rushes out into the hallway. He blames his wife saying “It’s all your fault.” She responds “How is this my fault you’re crazy” He then stresses to his wife “This is because you’ve gotten him all these girly toys growing up”. “You’ve always treated him like he was some princess”. She starts to cry. He continues, “the kid thinks he’s in some other body because of you, you ruined my little man”. She yells “Shut up! Shut up! I have had enough of this! Maybe it’s just a phase.” “You better hope it is” Thomas says. “What?” she confusedly asks “I better hope”. The husband storms out the house, probably going to a bar to drink his problems away. The wife runs to her boy’s room to try to calm him down. She tells him “Don’t worry about your father, if you really believe this, we’ll help you make your change. Only if you feel the same way you feel now when you are twelve.” The boy remembers her words, every day until the day of his twelfth
Is there any coffee left?” Ernest asked, holding up his cup. “Sure,” Don said and filled it. “I don’t know if you knew it, but once Butch healed, he was the sweetest dog, I have ever seen. He lived in our home for years until we gave him to my nephew for his son.” Ernest smiled and said, “I never knew that. It was funny at the time you scared the hell out of me when you told me you gave no one discounts. If anybody asked for one that you charged them double.” “I remember the expression on your face was priceless.” “It surprised me when you told me, your name was Don and to never call you doctor again.” Ernest said, "It sure didn’t take you long to decide you wanted the sick animals, and I could have the healthy ones until we found homes for them. Was that your original plan?” “Oh, no, when I saw you with the injured dog, I knew at once, we could work together, and the stories around town about you were bullshit,” he said, as the phone rang. “Dr. Kelley, my I help you,” answering the phone, he said. “What’s wrong with Fluffy today?” “Sure, I’ll come by after work. It will not be necessary to bring Fluffy to the
You’re pregnant.” he said and this time Dr. Neethling thought that Molly was going to faint. “Molly? Are you okay?” he asked before getting up and making his way to where she was sitting. “What?” she asked and he could see her pleading with her eyes. “It can’t be…we…I am on the pill. How?” she asked with confusion in her voice. “Molly…the pill is only 99% effective. Have you taken any other medication recently?” he asked again while he was trying to understand why she fell into the 1% bracket. “I…don’t…yes, I was taking antibiotics for a sinus infection a month or so ago?” she said softly. “Well, there you have it then…antibiotics work against the pill.” he said making his way back to his desk. Molly looked at him in disbelief, and she could feel a restricting lump in her throat. “What am I going to tell my parents?” she said without realizing that she had said it aloud. Molly knew that her father would never forgive her for disappointing him in this way. Molly knew that all he had asked of her was to finish school and then she could go back to Ryan. She felt her body start to shake when she thought about what James would say, and it scared her to think of how he might
Billy runs to his Treehouse and closes the door and runs over to the dog and sits. “Look doggie I’m not going to hurt you I’m going to fix your paw…. well try to.” As he reaches for her paw the dog starts to growl, “hold on I’m not going to hurt you I promise,” Billy said. Billy takes a ice cube out of the bag and rubs the cube around the infected and hurt paw, then he takes out the bandage and wraps it around the swollen, infected, and hurt paw. “See I told you it wouldn’t hurt,” Billy said as he smiled at the dog. The dog looks up at Billy and gazes into his eyes and smiles back and winks. “Aww your a good dog aren’t you girl?” Billy said. Billy gets up and walks to the door and thinks “I will find a way for her to stay,”. He walks back into
Screaming in pain, Rebecca was about to give birth to her first baby. She was forced to have a homebirth as there were no hospitals around for miles. Her shrieks of pain had woken everyone in the neighbourhood, many came up to the house to get a glimpse of the situation. One of Rebecca’s friends, Rick, had rushed into the house in a matter of minutes after he heard the screaming. Rick stayed with Rebecca for several hours that followed to comfort her as best he could. His best attempts to calm her down, it seemed, were not good enough.
But he didn’t get an answer. He continued to answer the door. It was Bobby and Kristen, Sarah biological parents. John offers a seat then, he and Margret sit. While sitting in an awkward silence it was broken by Sarah. She asked “Why did you give me away!?” bobby answered and said “Well sweetheart we weren’t stable as stable for a child and we didn’t know what to do with a child at our age.” Well Sarah felt that she couldn’t take that for an answer. From the looks of their appearance it didn’t look like they were unstable. They had nice shoes, clothes, and a nice car. In the back of her mind she was thinking that they just didn’t want her. Or why did they never came back for her? It made her upset but she was at the age where she understood what Bobby was saying as he continued to speak. Sarah looked at John, interrupting Bobby and say “Is this the reason why you and mom never told me why I was adopted or even let me meet my biological parents? Did you know that it was going to make me upset?” John responded and said “Yes.” As everyone sat in the living room and continued to talk Sarah just listened. She turned to John and said, “I just want to appreciate everything you and mom did for me.
Sorry Toni, I am just a little stressed out right now. I told him that I understood. So is Angela in labor. I asked him. Yes. He told me. For the last three hours, we have been here at the hospital. The doctor said it is normal. But Toni she is in so much pain. And I can't do anything to help her. I smiled. Mike, do you need me to come down there? He rushed and said. Please fly down. I will pay for your airline ticket. I just need you to get here. The whole family is here. But they are just getting in the way. Laughing at what he was saying, I told him I would be there as soon as I could. Hanging up the phone I called Shannon right away. He was at work, so I knew he most likely won't answer the phone. And I was right, he didn’t. It went to voice mail. I left him a message telling him what was going on. When I hung up, I called Benjamin's phone. He answered on the second ring. I asked him if he knew where Shannon was. He told me that they were outside filming. I told him about Angela and that I was going to be leaving. He asked me if everything was okay with her. I told him. From what I could get out of Mike the doctor said everything is okay. The baby just doesn’t want to come out
It was a Sunday morning in Chicago. Everything was perfectly swell. Mrs.Wheling was changing her lovely new born triplets upstairs . She had went downstairs to fix up the baby's bottles, when Mrs.Wheling got a phone call that choked her up. When she got the news that Mr.Wheling had sadly committed suicide for his babies to live, at that instant she dropped the bottles in shock and said,.
The little light next to the train she had to take flickered. She shuffled a little bit forward, not really knowing what to say. In the end she looked up, her smile had faded because she had to say goodbye. Not knowing whether she'd see the boy again.
After about fifteen minutes past six, he opens the front door. “I need to tell you something!” Jude basically yells. “Okay…?” Sam says hesitantly. She pats the seat next to her on the couch. He sets his coat on the arm of the couch and sits next to his fiancee. “You know how I’ve been more sick than usual?” He nods slowly, still confused and concerned. “Well, it’s not because of the treatment.” You can hear an audible sigh of relief coming from Sam. “I’m pregnant Sam.” He looks at her in disbelief and chuckles. “That’s great honey!” he exclaims. It took him longer than Jude to see why this wasn’t the best news. “Wait, no. You need to finish your treatment. You need to get better. You can’t have the baby while you’re sick. We have to get rid of this. You need to call your doctor.” Jude was surprised at his response. She didn’t even consider abortion as an option. “No. No, we’re having this baby. Whether you like it or not. I wanted to talk to you about changing the treatment or doing nothing. I’m not aborting our baby!” She storms out towards the bedroom. He, still beside himself, decides it’s best to stay where he is.
He dropped the bowl. I ran out to hug him, he was in shocked. There was glass everywhere on the floor. I had told him how and he didn't get it, “Why”!! did this happened, she left me and now she is gone” said Jerry, im very sorry Jerry I responded, i'm here for you if you need anything you know that Jerry. “Nooooo you're not always going to be here okay so just leave me alone” said Jerry, he ran out the door in anger. He ran fast in tears.
Nicole is sitting in the doctor’s office for the first time. She is waiting patiently as the small round clock in the corner of the room ticks away at a snails pace. She suddenly hears footsteps coming from the other side of the door. Nicole puts her sweaty palms together as she sees the doctor enter the room with some blue papers in his hands. The doctor quickly looks at Nicole then turns away clearing his throat, “I have examined the test results that we just completed; you are pregnant but there are some complications.”
