Personal responsibility to me means taking accountability for your own actions, Making a commitment and sticking to it. In order to be a success in college, you have to apply your life learned lessons to the equation, to balance both school and out of school priorities. Because You are responsible for the choices you make, you are ultimately responsible for your success. Becoming a master organizer and learning how to manage your time efficiently, will help you achieve your goals. Taking responsibility for all that happens while you are in college will help you prevail in areas, where you may have lacked confidence. Because I did not want to let my boss down, I would get into this zone, where I would not see or hear anyone, and prepare to execute my excitement because under pressure and much stress, I completed my task. The negative stress in your life could be hard to eliminate if you do not find a positive replacement. According to Lucas McCain (2012),"Stress Management: 101 Best Ways to Relieve Stress and Really Live Life" (pg 64) " The important thing here is to find your particular negative coping strategy and address your stress, and replace your strategy with a positive one that address that same stress." Self- Discipline and scheduling effectively are critical factors when it comes to successfully managing your time. Having self-discipline is a vital necessity, when you are preparing for college success. Deciding to study for an important exam, or hanging out with friends, will need to be carefully decided. If you chose the obvious, Studying, you'd eliminate unwanted stress like, cramming days before the exam. Being self-Disciplined means you have control over your behavior and you do not make decisions on impulse, instead you make your decisions logically. Finally, we also mentioned the importance of time management and self-discipline. A student will manage very well his/her time by identifying best time for studying, using distributed learning and practice means study in shorter time blocks with shorts breaks between, reducing distractions which can waste time, making room for entertainment and relaxation, making sure there is time to sleep and eat properly and try to combine activities. For example, if a student is spending time in the Laundromat, he/she can bring his psychology book to read. Managing time takes self discipline. The same professor cited before said that “people who seem to have less difficulty with self-discipline probably have simply had more practice at it”. Being responsible and accountable for what I do is something I take very personally. It is a key point in my personality and a critical part of being part of the US Army.
From the Time Management Calendar assignment, I realized a lot of things about the way that I spend my time. I spent an abundant time doing homework, and I stay up entirely too late. Living a happy, healthy life is all about learning to balance schoolwork, a social life, stress relief, and somehow, getting plenty of sleep. I feel that for me to be successful in college, I need to spend more time on myself, including physical activity and other means of stress relief, and designating more time for sleep.

In the article, First-Year College Students’ Time Use, it discusses how important managing your time is for a college student. Many students manage their time by listing everything that they need to do for that day, to know exactly what needs to be done and in what order (Thibodeaux, Deutsch, Kitsantas, & Winsler, 2017). The less important tasks can wait. When you are in college and you start working toward your degree, you see how valuable your time is. Managing your time wisely is important in completing all your tasks that need to be done and in the appropriate amount of time.
“There has to be some common ground.” I caught the tail end of this sentence during a morning radio news story while commuting to work. Although the story was about the recent polarizing presidential election, the phrase stuck with me throughout the day. As I continue to critically reflect on my ethical framework for this paper, I will write about my core values in relation to Thomas G. Plante’s RRICC principles of responsibility, respect, and concern for others from his book “Do the Right Thing,” as well as other underlying morals and how they guide my actions.
Responsibility means being responsible, or accountable for something within one’s power, control, or management. We first need to be responsible for ourselves before we can be responsible for others. In learning to be more responsible it is important that we know our limitations. Being responsible is sign of having good character. Irresponsible people often break the rules, causing injury to themselves or others. Some examples of responsibility is being on time, being prepared, and managing your time wisely.
Successful college students ensure they know how to manage their time. Establish some priorities, make a list. Some things are not as essential as others. Some of these things can be delegate or moved to the side. Taking the time to develop a plan in order to avoid procrastination. Finding a way to identify the amount of time needed to study and complete course work lets you identify any way time could be misused and could cause delays in your study sessions.

To start off, the most successful people in the world have one thing in common and it is that they work harder than others. But, for a student to be successful in college, they must manage their time by being efficient. In order to do this, students must get an early start. For example, students who have exemplary work ethic usually get up early and get everything ready before their class starts. Time management plays a huge role in college students success because students are independent and must do everything without their parents being there; therefore, many tend to slack off and miss deadlines because they didn't have enough time to complete what was assigned. “As students, think of the time you waste trying to find things, figuring out what the assignment is, moving from one location to another when the trip wasn’t necessary, or teaching yourself because you weren’t an active learner in class”(University SurVival). This shows that in general, students are always wasting time so being able to manage time is very affective. But students with great work ethic, tend to be organized and manage their time. Most hard working students tend to think ahead and know what kind of work they are getting into. This is why most students with great work ethic end up getting good grades on their English papers. Being a college student takes time and dedication, especially when having other priorities such as work, family, and time to take a break. A student has to make time to do homework or study for your tests and finals, while still maintain a job and a social life. Every person is different and manages their time differently so it comes easier to some than it does to others. Others put work off to the last minute and add stress that is not needed. I personally do not always use my time effectively and it has been a problem in the past, along with delaying work that needs to be done. I have thought of ways to improve my barriers. Along with people who could help me overcome them.
