6:30AM As the night winds to daytime, the sun’s rays met my eyes through my window. I finished sewing one of my latest creations. Not to brag, but the hand sewing job is one of the best I’ve done so far, matching thread color to the color of the poly fleece’s fabric color. What is this creation you might ask? Ha-ha, well it’s none other than a toy duck. A guy in his late teens making a toy duck, what’s the deal with that? Random things interest me, whether it’s designing something in Photoshop, brining something to life in person, or even a mix of both. At the end of the day I like to use my hands to make things, that doesn’t break the bank that is. I lived in a pretty cramped apartment, but it suited my needs. It has a toilet, thank god for that. I had decent sized monitor, keyboard, etc. You can see the sun rays peer through the window as well as the various buildings, which sometimes blocked the sun. I try to keep my apartment clean, but as my hyper active mind distracts with me with various tasks and activities, I repeatedly put cleaning down at the bottom of the list of things to do. It mostly consists of crumple up papers of drawings, flyers, or articles, 5 years too old, along with scattered bits of fabric and plastic that I sometime step on which isn’t a fun feeling. Usually has the smell of spray on deodorant, and other aromas of that nature, out of fear that odor may build up. Wasn’t I doing something? Oh, yea I was getting ready for class. I packed up my stuff
Many schools entered a fashion design contest to make outrageous objects out of everyday items. Students are required to use one recycled item over and over to make a design that functions, as opposed to fine art. (Jones 18) All of the students had creative ideas, and embraced the fun factor completely. One student made a dress of of plastic bags and floating toy fish. Other students created even crazier items. A chandelier made out of hamster tubes, and a dress fashioned out of soda cans are just a couple of the students’ crazy projects. Everyday items can be created into fun and intriguing art
One early saturday morning my dad (Shawn), my cousin (trey), and I woke up at 2:30 a.m. to go duck hunting. When we get out there we are one of the first people there and 4:00 comes along and we sent out to our spot. When we come to a spot that boats can't go we have to walk for about 15 minutes. As we are putting out the last of are decoys we here so more people throwing out decoys and they are pretty close. Well, we start talking to them and they are pretty nice and they ask if they can hunt with us and we said yes. Then, daylight comes and a group of ducks come in and we shot but I was the only one that killed one that we could find and it´s a drake which is a male mallard. Then, my dad shoots and we could not find his ducks.
now had to live with a roommate. Kristina reports that her roommate is not messy, but is just not as clean as Kristina would like. Kristina states that she vacuums their floor and wipes all of the furniture (including her roommate’s desk) with disinfectant spray once day. The whole process takes her about 2 hours. She also puts a special cover on her bed so that the germs won’t get in it.
Specialty Toys, Inc., sells a variety of new and innovative children’s toys. Management learned that the preholiday season is the best time to introduce a new toy, because many families use this time to look for new ideas for December holiday gifts. When Specialty discovers a new toy with good market potential, it chooses an October market entry date.
The pencil liberates my stresses and sorrows. Bare and unimpeded, my mind is able to isolate itself from anything that was happening in my life. At my art table, which is merely an escape from reality, my curiosity is able to wander. Within this room, five blank canvas's look in on me as I become a mold of my imagination. A step inside my world develops into a sea of color and exploration. The vibrancy of the walls resonates throughout. Over the years, my room has served as my oasis. It’s my escape from monotonous and mundane routines. It’s my exploration of another side of me. I observe such works of art almost as much as I create. Taking notice of my classmates’ innovations and inspired by their creativity, my paintbrush begins to alleviate stress. I strive to produce pieces others will appreciate, but often find myself to be the true admirer. My pride, in this world, is driven simply by my own curiosity to express myself. I credit this side of me as the “passion” that supplements my insane drive for success. This passion has sparked critical thinking in me as well as how I see failure. Life is a blank canvas and you can truly draw whatever you want, and if you fail, you start over and don’t make that same mistake again! Hard work takes ideas quite far, but true success is derived from ingenuity and the generation of
An invasive species is an organism that is not native to a certain area but it resides there anyway (What is an Invasive Species, 2016). There are many of these invasive species that are now in Florida. Such as the Muscovy duck, the Burmese python, the Asian sword fern, and many others. Invasive species can be a huge burden on nature, and society. This is why certain species that are not in this region of the world should stay out.
As a critic interacting with this “thing” I deduce that it reflects my values and aspirations as a designer because as stated in my ethos, it challenges the viewers to reflect and to act upon them. It allows for individuals to think about what object creates meaning in their lives by seeing examples provided by my work. The Heildberg project was created using artifacts that contributed to the history and value of the city of Detroit. My project also allows for individuals to explore their creativity and encourage a stronger connection of the community.
My artifact is brown and black with almost 2 decades’ worth of memories; this object is my stuffed Rottweiler named Max. This artifact, although motionless with four legs, has walked to the moon and back with me as a child full of imagination. This artifact stores the most precious memories and has been with me at every step in my life. Max is very meaningful to me because we have shared many memories, from birth until now. My stuffed animal has been with me through every ups and downs in life, every change that has ever occurred to me, has been a part my past and present; and represents my future.
Toy Story is the groundbreaking 1995 motion picture developed by Disney and Pixar and directed by John Lasseter. The film was so revolutionary not only because it was the first feature length animation to be created completely by CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) but also, also the film was more rounded in all respects. The characters not only looked more sophisticated and three-dimensional but their personalities were also more human and fewer cartoons like. The film uses a constructed text in order to put across a theme of two very different characters learning to work together beyond their rivalries to rise above a common enemy and work towards a common goal. The film uses characters and imagery very cleverly to
As a child I enjoyed drawing several objects, and I felt that I had a rare gift to express life through art. I hope to reinvest my time back into my childhood hobby upon graduation later this year.
I grew up alongside the wild Rocky Mountain Columbines, where the air is crisp and the winters are long. I spent my time engaging in the arts such as acting, writing, and creating. From a young age I was drawn to the world of imagination and found happiness through producing art. We all face and over come challenges within our lives and whenever I am faced with hardship I find comfort in visually expressing myself.
Duck hunting is an absolute passion for me and nothing could possibly interrupt this annual event. For me, sitting out in a duck blind at 5:30 in the morning with the brisk cold air biting at my skin is something I look forward to each and every year. Even having to break through a layer of thin ice to make it out to my blind never gets old. The frigid cold on my hands can get unbearable at times, but the possibility of frostbite is never at the forefront of my thoughts. After all, when the ducks start to fly, nothing can force me off the lake.
Watery eyes, flaring nostrils, flailing limbs, and the temper of a furious bull, your child is having a horrendous tantrum. Even though you’ve taught them morals and positive values, this seems to recurring issue. There is one question all parents must ask themselves, “ What kind of outside influences am I allowing my child to govern themselves with on a daily basis?” These days, boys and girls alike face the incessant impact of society in their social, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral lives. This influence starts at a young age with the toys and games our little tykes surround themselves with.
In this business case, a shift from seasonal to level monthly production of toys will change the seasonal cycle of Toys World's working capital needs and necessitate new bank credit arrangements.
Art. To me is something undefinable, what I want my art to show you is a piece of myself and a piece of yourself. Something we can all relate to; a memory, a song, a poem, art should make you feel something. Art is a gift, a tool we can use to hide beauty in ordinary places and things. I want to broaden my understanding of design and the world that art is beyond my knowledge and experiences. Because my love for creating burns so bright and deep within me, I am determined to find a career path that will allow me to explore the world of design and art every day. A number of art forms are endless and this seems like a daunting task to find just one path that can express the enjoyment and involvement I want to have with art. Throughout my life I have been endlessly drawing, painting, sculpting and creating--often times I feel almost cursed with such talent to create because the ability seems endless. I have taken a number of art classes exploring my passions as a High School Student and created many different types of works including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; etching, embossed, and screen printmaking; charcoal, graphite, and pastel drawings; Sculpting with ceramics and plaster as well as wheel pieces. I find that there is few mediums I have yet to experiment with. I have become accustomed to Acrylic paintings as I have recently started to create paintings and sell them to community members. I participated in a local art fair and it opened my eyes to what art
