Self- Reflection
Childhood is the best days of human life. We get love from everyone. Our needs and wants are fulfilled at any cost by our loved ones. But as we grow, we remember a very few things that had happened in our childhood. So, when I got to do this assignment, I hurried to call my mom to know how I was in my childhood. This assignment is based on self-reflection. Human self-reflection is the capacity of humans to exercise introspections and the willingness to learn more about their fundamental nature, purpose and essence. Human self-reflection is related to the philosophy of consciousness, the topic of awareness, consciousness in general and the philosophy of mind. One of the most important things for you to understand about self-confidence is that it is a great and useful thing to

For example, I wasn’t talkative and I always want to be alone. Moreover, I was unfriendly with people other than my family. Physically, I was very weak, so I was not that much active. I don’t like strangers to enter my house even. Because of that, I don’t have many friends. I even could not control my anger. If I cried for something, I should get it somehow. All over I could say that my self-esteem was very low in my childhood.
Then comes my schooling days. When I started my school life, things got totally changed. I started making friends, physically I became active and my self-confidence started to grow. I believe that, it might have been because of the changes in environment. When we go outside from our home we socialized more as we made new friends, we learnt to cooperate with others. And we learnt to respect our elders and gained valuable skills and rules from outside environment. All these things brought and built my self-confidence. I experienced the same things during my school
Our childhood plays a significant role in defining the kind of person that we become and the type of life that we live.
Hays (2008) discussed privilege and biases based on culture and how these privileges and biases can affect a therapist’s work. Having a healthy understanding of self-identity can help understand the role of privilege and biases. In order to help self-reflect, Hays (2008) presented the ADDRESSING model which includes age, disability (born with), disability (acquired), religion, ethnicity/race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, indigenous status, nationality, and gender. This ADDRESSING model will be applied in this paper.
Gaining confidence: Your self-confidence is an important life tool. Its like riding a bike. First, you must learn to ride the bike. Then it takes practice to get really good at it. But once you have mastered riding, it is as natural as breathing.
After reading the article Confidence Can Help You Achieve Anything written by Andrew Coleman, it gave me an answer why it is so important to have self-confidence in our lives. The author gives some excellent life experiences to demonstrate that self-confidence is one of the most important elements to be successful.
Many people have a limited memory of their early childhood. These memories fail to exist as they have faded due to brain development during this stage in life. A child’s
The world we live in is tough, and self-confidence can either make or break a person. Confidence is when a person believes in himself, otherwise he can get lost. Self-esteem is affected by race, age, ethnicity, gender and many more factors. Confidence can also be associated with feelings about one's appearance. Confidence and its effects can be looked at through many different lenses. It is a characteristic that is constantly relived every day in a person’s life and can almost always be strengthened and improved.
The aim of the reflective essay is to highlight my own personal development skills that I have developed during first semester of my module. However, in this report I will make sure my learning ability phase and what this module has allowed me to work and understand in improving my personal skills and purpose. My major aim is to develop and assess an in depth range of my personal traits as a student in order to endorse my future development plan.
Throughout our childhood, we all can recall memorable moments about things we experienced. Whether it be losing a tooth or getting in trouble during recess. The children in To Kill a Mockingbird Scout, Jem, and Dill spends their childhood together learning from each other and the town around them. Today the concept of “childhood” is changing for each generation and becoming more connected with technology rather than going to the park. Still, there are things every child can relate to or remind them of a similar event. Such as fearing a neighbor, summertime, and the first day of school. There are many different components that make up our childhood experiences.
As a little girl, I was the child who would never let go of my parents. If anyone ever glanced over at me they would catch me either wrapping my whole body around my Mom's legs or begging my Dad to pick me up and hold me. Even worse, if any adults dare took the chance to come over and talk to me I would hide my face, thinking they couldn’t see me so I would never have to talk to anyone. I was shy. Simple as that, talking to people was something I feared the most.
The areas of productiveness in this session for me included the paraphrasing and minimal encouragers. Throughout this session I felt that my paraphrasing was clear and concise. It allowed the client to think about what he had said, while being able to provide me with feedback and allowed for the conversation to flow naturally.
I have always enjoyed writing, and I believed writing was a subject I was naturally good at. I turned in papers that were still rough drafts, I did not evaluate my sources, nor did I ever take the time to fully understand the prompt. It was not until my first semester of college, in my writing composition course, I realized that I had a lot of work ahead of me to be as good a writer as I thought I was. In the writing course, the students were required to compose several essays using different methods to help progress on the course objectives. The work in this portfolio demonstrates that I have used the methods of synthesis and evaluation of sources to advance my critical thinking skills and develop personal responsibility. Though I have
I imagined what people thought of me. I believed in what people said, and I was not believing in myself. I was the monster. I let myself down. I was doing things that pleased my peers, not me. being normal is boring. I did not want to fit in but rather stand out. My shyness has ruined so many great opportunities. I started to accept myself and that was important. I made friends who believed in me and allowed me to be who I am. why should I conform to what people tell me who I should be? I like being who I am.
Some people have so much confidence that they are not afraid to do anything. Others are the complete opposite, and are scared of being judged or ridiculed by others. Self-confidence cannot be taught, but is reached by the individual when they decide to believe in themselves. In order to attain self-confidence, one needs to believe that they can do the task at hand. It cannot be accomplished overnight, but slowly gets stronger and stronger over a period of time. One of the major ways to obtain confidence is acting like one is confident, even when not. Acting will transfer into truly being self-confident and having high self-esteem. Another way to gain confidence is by talking to others.
During the course of the quarter, I feel that I have progressed somewhat. I've gained a lot of knowledge on rhetorical strategies and how to present arguments effectively. In the writings I have written, I feel that each writing works towards meeting the course goals. Logos, ethos, and pathos were strategies and ideas we were introduced to (if not already in the past) and were built upon throughout the quarter. The knowledge gained over the course of the quarter weren't only those three types of appeals. Rhetorical strategies like proposals helped reinforce the course and using rhetorical analysis in different situations have become easier throughout the quarter. I believe that I have made sufficient progress towards becoming a better
When introducing the concept of self-consciousness, it can be very difficult for individuals to understand that there are many forms of self-consciousness. Many already have a definition in mind as soon as they hear the word self-consciousness. It is made up of many concepts because it isn’t just a cognitive state, rather, many cognitive states. The mind processes many things as opposed to just knowing things. Humans are capable of doing and desiring many things while self-evaluating and questioning oneself. Everyone is able to consider their own actions and to think about themselves. When thinking, humans are able to consider ideas and depictions regarding the self and others. Regarding oneself allows for evaluating self-worth in refinement to common social roles (Bermudez).
