In the Holy Bible, which is inspired by the word of God, whom is the creator of the heavens and earth, tells of a story about Joseph and his brothers. In the story Joseph brothers sell him into Egypt slavery. The reason begin, Joseph father, guided and love him more. This of course, made the brothers jealous. In the story, of The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver gives an account of a father, who claims to be a loving and Godly man, however he guides his family directly into Congo slavery.
In The Poisonwood Bible, we first meet Orleanna, who was born in Jackson Mississippi during the Great Depression. Even though the Great Depression was in era, Orleanna was given as normal of a life as possible. Her father was an eye doctor who also ran

In the beginning of Nathan and Orleanna Price relationship, he was just a young preacher trying to save her soul along with others. Soon their relationship developed into Nathan coming over all the time to see and peach to her. Originally it was her Aunt Tess, who said to her, if she was going to cook for him every Sunday afternoon, the she might as well marry him. Orelanna’s dad was

upset because she became eventually a free will Baptist. Orleanna dad wasn’t too fond of her new religious choices. Her dad began to drink and curse at Orelanna for becoming baptist then the stress of her marrying. Obviously, Orleanna dad had other plans for her.
Once married, they traveled across the countryside to find work. For the most part, there time together made their relationship full of love and happiness. Shortly, afterwards, Nathan was drafted into the war. During his time in the war, he was shot and came back home. Their relationship of husband and wife would change forever. This was her first sacrifice. Just as the relationship of Adam and Eve in the Bible changed forever once sin entered their life and

It would truly take a strong family bond to hold together in Africa, however not all made the sacrifices.
The people of Africa were in need of guidance due to the social and economic issues the country was enduring. At first in Africa, they were greeted openly and settled into a village. Of course, the relationship with the people in Africa and well as the family united within the Price family changed overtime. Just as the event in the Holy Bible of Joseph and his brothers. The brothers all grew up together and overtime issues of anger, jealousy and sacrifice affected them. While living in Africa things continued to decline for all involved. Nathan was gone from the family unit preaching the Gospel. This left Orlenna to become the head of the household. It started to be the only interaction Nathan and her had was when he would bring people home and preach to them there. Most people came because Orlenna would provide a meal for them even if she had to sacrifice her family from eating since the conditions in Africa continued to worsen.
Things could have been different, if Nathan was a stronger leader not only in the church, but
It was not until half way through the book when Nathan starts opening to Fiona and doesn't think of her as an annoying little sister. As his parents were trying their best to get back together despite their differences, Nathan's idea of compromise and understanding widened. He'd do anything to be a part of his parent's reunion. This was the main motive behind his change of views on Fiona. Nathan narrates "Normally I would've done what I usually do, and pretend she didn't exist but I was feeling so good after talking to mum, that before I could get a grip of myself, I grinned and waved back". This is indicative of a change in Nathan's attitude towards the acceptance of Fiona. He realizes that if one can put his or her differences behind and keen on improving relationships, it can be done. Ego, unwilling to compromise and arrogance are some of the main reasons keeping people apart. Occasionally we should take a moment to sit and think calmly with humility and humbleness. This can and will change the way we interact with people around us. In simple terms treat people the way you want to be
Joseph was promoted to a position of power only second to Pharaoh, because it was believed, the spirit of God was with him (Genesis 41:38, King James Version). After being imprisoned, Joseph found himself in the company of a butler who would forever change his life.
In the Bible is written about the story of Joseph in Genesis 39-47. Joseph is one of the twelve sons of Jacob. Joseph was Jacobs favourite son. And his brothers were very jealous. They first wanted to kill him, but they sold him instead. Something like that happened to Prospero. Prospero was duke of Milan at the beginning. His brother Antonio got jealous too and abandoned him to an island. Joseph and Prospero both had very jealous siblings. And they couldn’t stand that Joseph got privileges. And (in the case of Prospero) that he was ruling them. They were both banned.
In the story of Joseph, Joseph was the favorite son of Jacob. His brothers were very hostile and jealous of him. Knowing this,
Joseph could no longer hold back his true identity, so he told everyone to leave the room except for his brothers. When they were finally alone he told them that he was their brother Joesph. They were shocked to find out that their brother was standing before them. Joseph encouraged them not to be upset that they sold him into slavery because it was God plan to place him in a high position to keep his family alive. Joseph explains there is still five years of famine to go. Joseph told his brothers to go back to their fathers, and says, “ Joseph is alive, and govern of the land of Egypt.” He instructs them to pack all their belongings, and move to Goshen so he could provide for them. He tells them to describe all that they have seen to their
Nathan’s family also adds to his desire to keep up appearances. His family, however, functions similarly to the faceless members of an imposing society due to Nathan’s distant relationship with his family members aside from his brother. In the past, they have sent him to every “funny farm” in the area. These actions, through Nathan’s eyes, can be seen as simply another form of suppression, or dealing with the problem without actually solving the problem. Due to his treatment as an outcast, Nathan is only given another reason to create this façade in order to be understood as normal by other members of society. This, combined with his dependency on drugs, lead to his further instability and eventually to his suicide pact with Sophie. Styron presents the deceased couple on the bed in the Pink Palace where Stingo originally met them, tying his story back to the beginning. From this, Styron establishes the dangers of societal pressures, and the consequences of such pressure on those in a vulnerable state. In cases such as Sophie, a Holocaust survivor; and Nathan, a man with a severe case of paranoid schizophrenia; were susceptible to the demands of society to live the good life and be happy. Almost in an ironic fashion, society’s encouragement to be happy and live large ultimately triggered their fall into depression and their untimely demise. This pressure gave a reason for them to suppress their true selves, hiding behind a well put together mask or a wall of
Most of the time Nathan was an open book, spewing out every little problem and emotion he's ever felt or had to deal with. As Nathan talks, Warren listens. Just as he likes him to do. During these moments Warren knows he's at his most vulnerable state and he appreciates the trust Nathan hands to him, and Nathan often doesn't hand out his trust very easily.
Wait, was that Nathan? Did those words just leave his arrogant lips? Maybe this trip truly will change his
Nathan had heard stories about the McFadden’s territory and would never even think about going near that horrific place. His friend Clay had told him about what happened the night that Marvin McFadden died. His wife Millicent was widowed and still lived in the house that they bought together when they first moved to town. Marvin died trying to scare away some kids that always came up to his house on halloween to play pranks on him. He had a heart attack and the kids that were there were never seen again. Rumor has it that people see his ghost sometimes standing next to the bridge, and they can hear the screams of the group of kids.
As already mentioned, focus more on Nathan and his relationship with Mykel to escalate the tension and conflict. Also, consider adding the idea of an important legal bill or law that Nathan is struggling with to give the story more substance.
There are a plethora of stories in the Bible, but one stands out in particular; the story of Joseph. The Hebrew meaning of the name Joseph is “may Jehovah add, give increase.”1 Through the life of Joseph we see God add meaning and purpose to his life, just as God adds meaning and purpose to all our lives. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”2 Joseph obediently followed God’s plans through trials and tribulations whereas many other figures in the Old Testament faltered in their faith. Joseph, son of Jacob, is the single most important human being in the Old Testament because of his impeccable faith in the one true God and his story of forgiveness that set the stage for God’s chosen people.
When the brothers arrived back in Egypt Joseph saw that they had kept their promise and had brought back Benjamin. Joseph greeted his brothers and sent for one of his slaves to get Simeon. The brothers hugged Simeon and talked about how much they missed him. This made Joseph angry. Joseph had many bad thoughts like:
Nathan had more exposure to his hero through befriending his brother, Jerry Levov. Jerry was radically different than the Swede as Nathan recounts. He had a fiery side, unlike his cool, calm, and collected brother. Nathan was one if not the only friend to Jerry in high school. “I would have not otherwise have played in Jerry Levov’s basement. If it weren’t for the opportunity to tell
And to do justice to my favourite, I did a lot of research for creating the perfect Nathan character as I wanted him to be very chilled out and incorrect in every possible way! Just like Charlie Chaplin. Just to bring the best into this character and to get the right inspiration, I watched a lot of films and finally the idea of how his character should be came evolved. He was the person who connects the sequences. He creates the aura of unpredictability. The way he enters and turns Tom’s future upside down. He drinks the wine meant for Zoe .The entire scenario changes because of Nathan. It is Nathan who rolls and takes forward the story due to his antics and unpredictably hilarious behaviour. And all the time, it is not deliberate. He is unaware of the havoc he
sons are going to follow in Nathan's footsteps and work on the land for a living. This
