What Is College For Everyone

While going to college can help you succeed in life, it is not for everyone. Some people already know what they want to do after high school and don’t need a college education to accomplish it. On the other hand, others do attend college to find what they want to do and it just ends up being a waste of time and money. College should not be required for every high school graduate.

College isn’t for everyone, and a reason behind that is because the career you might want to enter doesn’t need a college graduate diploma. For example myself I’m not in college, I am in a free vocational school for welding and going through this line of work I will be able to make a lot of money over the years doing it. Another reason why I don’t think college is for everyone is because a lot of people go to college and manage to find themselves in debt because they couldn’t afford college themselves and pulled student loans. Also following that the career that they are preparing for most of the time doesn’t end up making enough money to get themselves out of debt and that isn’t good whatsoever. High school students contemplate that college is not the right choice for them, but there are multiple benefits that come with a college degree. Author Charles Murray writes in “Are Too Many People Going to College”, that college in some ways is unnecessary due to the core knowledge we learn growing up. College is where you become a “cultivated human being” not where you become layers or doctors.

Whether or not everyone should go to college has been a strongly debated topic as of late. There are those who believe college is necessary in order to survive in America, in terms of jobs, future living, and general life knowledge. Have you ever thought of going to college and how your own life would change if you attend. College provides a lot for the ones that want to go to college. College puts you in the right place and start in life. There’s so many thing you can study and be in life. Although there are people who think college is a wasted of time and money.

College can still be worth it for many people when they are deciding on their future path. College doesn’t have to be very expensive, there are many scholarships that students can apply for to help reduce the cost. Also, having a college degree will allow the person to have the option for career changes in their lifetime. Some colleges offer work co-op programs,an internship, where the person can get a degree, learn their skill, and make money. This allows them to feel more comfortable in their field, and it helps to eliminate some of their student debt. These are just a few of the reasons why college can still be very beneficial to people, and why college can still be worth it for many people.

The education that one receives from a college will be very beneficial to people in many ways. College is worth it for meeting new people, learning new things, and experiencing and working on the right path to take. College from a personal perspective is quite the experience. Me being a student-athlete, it's more than just an athlete. It's more about a student.

Many think college is not worth it, however when I think of college not being worth it, I ask myself what is “it”? Is college not worth the sacrifice, time, or stress? In this case, many are not college material, simply for lacking the amount of effort and self motivation it takes to get through college. I oppose with the statement “For many, College isn’t worth it” because college is worth everything it takes for you to become great in the field you choose to study. Many people are not able or do not have the mindset to get through college, but that do not mean they will never have the mindset. Most people do not work hard under pressure or have great skills at testing or learning at a slow or fast pace. Some people believe that after highschool, since it is required, that going straight into an occupation is better for them. In my opinion, college is a stepping stool for achieving higher education and newer knowledge for the area you decide to infiltrate. I believe the educational world is bias to the brainpower of many people and people of the world is bias to the things they are capable of doing. Therefore, I am confident in stating college is worth it because having a college background ensures you quicker job opportunities, college gives you knowledge to become disciplined and self-motivated, and; college also enhances your communication skills.

Having a college education is an important tool that contributes to several aspects of a person’s life. The areas that are impacted the most would be the professional and personal areas. It is important to learn the value of a college education in order to take advantage of what you learn and how to productively apply it in your personal and professional life. It helps you financially. While you can get a job after high school, a college degree makes it easier to get into a better, higher paying job with better health/insurance benefits.
