I think co-working is a fantastic idea and would absolutely do it if I were in a position to do so! While the separation of work and home is appealing, the major draw for me is the “Good Partners” mentality that Spinuzzi mentions in his article. The notion of working collaboratively as partners and making connections is intriguing because there always is the possibility that your day can shift in an instant. In addition, the spaces described- from modernist spaces with open plan rooms to a grand Victorian mansion- are inspiring environments where I would want to go work. Going to work wouldn’t feel like I am “going to the office” but rather going to a space where I am free to work.
Granted, my opinion is somewhat biased because I have a
Partnership working has been shown to have benefits for staff; it has been found to give more clarity regarding roles and responsibilities and is also linked with lower levels of stress.
can create flexibility, better customer service, and increased productivity. This will also create a home-based virtual office environment. This will help with employee retention, especially those that are experienced and skilled.
“This remote work may be something we should be doing more of, according to two new studies. Working from home can be good for your health and productivity. Not only did people who worked from home report greater work satisfaction and less “work exhaustion,” they also got better sleep. Separately, researchers found that the highest performing workers were the most likely to cultivate and excel in a “WFH” environment (Gregoire, 2015)”. If workers don't prefer to work at home they are more than welcome to continue working at the main workplace. The company will give each employee the opportunity to try working from home in order to have more space at the main work
Some practitioners’ attitudes may present challenges if they see themselves working in teams, as opposed to working as teams. Employees might simply work alongside others, sharing a common work experience but not truly engaging in the give-and-take of working as teams. It is working as a team that brings the full range of motivational benefits.
“King Arthur was said to be the son of Uther Pendragon and Ygraine of Cornwall. Arthur is a near mythic figure in Celtic stories such as Culhwch and Olwen. In early chronicles he is presented as a military leader, the dux bellorum. In later romance he is a king and emperor. The Tudor monarchs traced their lineage to King Arthur and used that connection as a justification for their occupation of the English throne.” (So who was King Arthur) . As it says in this quote Arthur has been said to be the son of Uther Pendragon and Ygraine of Cornwall. He is a military leader, and we all know later on in his life that he becomes king and emperor. “Irrespective of whether King Arthur was real or mythical, it cannot be denied that King Arthur has been
When patients are brought back for rooming, the nurse or medical office assistant will review the printed list with the patient prior to documenting in the EMR. During the office visit, we will review polypharmacy and are adding a document to our resources section of the EMR regarding polypharmacy and accurate medication list that will be given to all patients. I have always been aware of the importance of accurate medication list, but was not reviewing this often enough in our patients EMR.
The biggest change in my schedule is due to the fact that I only get 2.25/3 hours daily. Because of this, I sometimes have to get up early to go in the morning to make up those extra hours which is quite difficult when it is not a regular routine but worth it because I get more in class experience. Luckily for me, I did not have to do anything to my current schedule to accommodate for CO-OP. Since I only have one in-class, class it makes my life with CO-OP a whole lot easier in some ways… The only thing that could be better is if my one class wasn’t in the middle of the day because I then have to travel to Meadowbrook then to Huron and then back to Meadowbrook again. If my class was in the morning it would make things easier, however, I am
Inter-professional collaboration refers to a collaboration between health workers across different professional roles to provide high-quality care (Liesveld 2017, p.429). The main professionals in Simon’s care are, a physiotherapist to assist Simon with movement and any musculoskeletal problems which may arise, a dietician to ensure that Simon has the knowledge and understanding of the diet he should have with a colostomy to be able to maintain his health and prevent complications, a medical officer who is responsible for Simon’s medical diagnosis and determines the therapy required (Gonda & Hales 2015, p.116-117). Simon may need support from a social worker who can counsel and support him, and an occupational
He was seen for followup. He is known to have Crohn's disease and also iron deficiency anemia secondary to chronic blood loss. He is currently on Colazal three capsules three times daily, Bentyl 20 mg three times daily, ferrous sulfate 325 mg three times daily, and prednisone 10 mg once daily. He claims that his loose stool has improved some; however, it would even be better if he is very compliant in taking his meds. He claims that he does not take his medication regularly on account that "it hurts my stomach," but I did mention to him that his stomach is hurting because of his condition, and at this time, he promised that he will be more compliant.
Mutual cooperation and equal loads of work among colleagues can help improve partnership working as well.
Brad Neuberg coined the term coworking in 2005. He was working both as a freelancer, working independently, and as a consultant for a company. Neuberg started to feel the gap between “the freedom and independence of working for myself along with the structure and community of working with others” (Neuberg, 2014). That gap was filled with the idea of a kind of space that would gather other workers allowing the structure he was looking for. Therefore, the coworking movement started because people were in need of each other to collaborate and share resources. The first spaces were born in the United States and then spread to virtually everywhere in the world. As to the term itself it is interesting to note that it is commonly written this way,
1a) Co leadership is when the leader of the group has a partner or another person to lead the group alongside them where both share equal power. Two leaders when working together, can systematically divide their workload that requires the leader’s attention .For example , while one leader is talking to the group, the other can scan the members’ faces for reactions.
I would collaborate with the unit manager to design the team. We will select diverse champions with different backgrounds, experiences, skills and qualifications. After forming the team, using the similar assessment tools, I will assess the members. This is to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. I would provide the team with the clear idea about the project, purposes, activities included, goals and the timeline to achieve the goals. Depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the members, I will assign the job to the team. The purpose of the activities planned is to make sure the staff are in compliance with the existing policies and protocols of the unit. The team will do chart audits and tracking of the staff activities to ensure the
The term 'co-production' was first coined in the 1970s by Elinor Ostrom, an economist at Indiana University to describe the relationship that the police need communities as much as communities need the police, explaining why neighbourhood crime rates rose in Chicago when the police changed from foot patrol to cars . The concept followed through with further developments by academics and activists such as Edgar Cahn who included principles of social justice. Today, co-production is a concept applied in a wide range of fields alongside user and community participation as a way of working together to improve and create user-led, people-centred services. Despite a seeming consensus around the potential of co-production, existing literature and
Wastewater reclamation is the process whereby wastewater is treated using physical, chemical and even biological methods, so that the effluent obtained can be used again, providing that it meets a series of parameters which varies according to its use. The need for wastewater reclamation has increased due to the ever increasing demand for water which has led to a rise in water stress both in terms of quality and quantity of water (Gerke S., 2001). With wastewater reuse the water stress will be alleviated. Constructed wetlands provide a cheaper and environmentally friendly means of treating wastewater so that it can be reused (Kivaisi K. A., 2001). Constructed wetlands makes use of the naturally
