According to Elena Popan (2016), integrity is the relationship between someone’s actions and beliefs. Characteristics of integrity include honesty, responsibility, dependability, loyalty, and trust. Integrity can also be influenced by outside factors such as family, religion, economic status, and philosophical ideology (Popan, 2016). However, integrity is ultimately determined by the individual (Stefano & Wasylyshyn, 2005). The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy states that integrity guides behavior and is determined by the choices you make and the principles you follow (2016).

Integrity is defined as following your moral or ethical convictions and doing the right thing in all circumstances, even if no one is watching you. Having integrity means you are true to yourself and would do nothing that demeans or dishonors you. When employees are asked what they want from leaders it is integrity. Qualities change across culture and time, but what people say they want most in American society is integrity. When people are asked to define integrity, the word they mention most frequently is honesty. The leader with integrity always tells the truth as he or she believes it to be. Think about the best leader you have ever had; she or he probably had integrity. First and foremost, people want a leader they can trust. Ask yourself whether you have a reputation for integrity. What is integrity? This is a very complicated question with a million different ways to answers. Integrity is something that a person can possess. It is something that a structure can possess and it is something that a sport can possess among many other things. When someone is asked if they have integrity the person must think about what qualities are associated with integrity.

To me, integrity comes from the heart. It is about being straight forward in everything you do. I cannot fail to show my integrity and let my life be consumed with negativity based on lack of integrity. If I lie, it shows my lack of integrity. If I do not constantly do what is right and good, I have a lack of integrity.

Integrity is having a strong moral compass and knowing where your place in the world is.

Integrity can be defined as "an uncompromising adherence to a code of moral, artistic or other values, utter sincerity, honesty and candor, avoidance of deception, expediency, artificiality or shallowness of any kind" (Webster's 3rd New International Dictionary 1174). In simpler words this means to maintain high standards and follow the rules, even when no one is watching. Integrity is very important in our everyday life if we wish to be good people. The sad thing is that if you ask some people what integrity means to them they will probably tell you that it doesn't mean much and some may not even know what integrity is. The story To Kill a Mockingbird is filled with integrity. For example, many of the people in Maycomb share a prejudiced sense of integrity when it comes to its racist views. However, it is Atticus Finch’s integrity throughout the novel that really embodies the idea of moral and ethical principles. He puts into action every moral idea that he supports. Atticus is a role model to not only his children, but to the whole town of Maycomb, and his integrity is a great part of what makes him such a good example. Integrity

A person of integrity does exactly what he says and says exactly what he means. There is no conflict between his thoughts and actions. His actions are consistent with the values he professes. According to Dr. William Manninger, A building without integrity may receive structural damage, or even collapse, in a storm. Similarly, people without integrity are blown about by the winds of misfortune and destroyed by catastrophes, for they lack the firmness, solidity, and strength of character to weather any storm. This means that integrity is one of the six essential qualities that are the key to success.

A person with integrity is humble – He is more concerned about what is right than about being right. He recognizes principle and puts it ahead of self.

Integrity is how somebody lives their life. In this life we live, we face choices every day that only we can answer. We dictate how we run our own lives, and they way we run them defines us. Integrity is doing the right thing versus the wrong thing. People, if nothing else, can always have their pride, their integrity. It is something that means a lot to some people and then nothing to others. The ones who value their integrity highly are the good people in this world, and the opposite is true for those who do not value their integrity.

To have integrity one must follow one’s morals and be strong against the negative aspects in life. A friend with integrity will help one live and follow the correct path. A person with out goals and with no sense of direction will only result in disappointment. As Alan Simpson reveals, “If you have integrity, nothing else matters.” Integrity is a characteristic that incorporates many other qualities. One cannot prove integrity unless one has respect, honesty, and loyalty towards others. Friends do not put one down and condemn those who do. One must be strong-willed and able to stand up for what is right in any situation. Friends help one strive for fineness and push one along the way. A friendship with good integrity is the opportunity to build a sturdy relationship. Integrity forms protection from harm and disappointment. One will always know the others actions and is prepared for the worst. Friends with integrity only know how to be one, and do not understand how to be untrue or false. Integrity is hard to recognize in oneself. Therefore, the people who express this quality rarely dwell on what one is doing.

Integrity, as we all may know,is not a joke. Something many people take very seriously. I would hope you all would know the definition of integrity, if not I guess it would be helpful to tell you. Integrity in the internet's perspective is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness, the state of being whole and undivided. In my Perspective Integrity is being able to be honest and true, to not just yourself but everyone that's in your surroundings as well. There is another version of integrity and that is self-Integrity which is known as the process of knowing your self, a process of self-sought but never completed. Honesty is the state imposed by others, which is somewhat connected to self-integrity. Integrity is how a person will live their life however they please. In this crazy thing we call life, we tend to face many choices every single day that not only can we personally answer but everyone can answer as well. Integrity is doing the right thing versus the wrong thing, and I am not saying that any of the definitions are incorrect, but what I am portraying is that everybody's definition is different, and will always be different.
