If you are seeking a superior college education, that will guide you down a successful career path, then, California State Universities, are your most logical choices. As of today the California State University system is the largest system within the United States and is “comprised of twenty-three member (23) institutions (New Faculty Survival Guide/Governance pg.1).” However, I specifically want to highlight the advantages of attending California State University, Fresno, most commonly referred to as, Fresno State University. Fresno State offers large variety of opportunities for its students, faculty and employees. As a free thinking university, “...you have the opportunity to participate in the consultative process affecting planning
Students nowadays face many challenges when it comes to obtaining a college education. We evaluate an institution’s quality based on what we need the most. The qualities sought out may vary by each person’s personal point of view. However, as a student, I’ve found that most students seek for an institute that benefits them the most. Attending a community college has been an enormous advantage towards my education. I have been attending San Bernardino Valley College for the last two semesters. I have come to respect their philosophies and values. The institution has now been in business for 87 years. They venture to encourage both students and faculty towards high standards of achievement and progress into exceptional members of the society. They now offer a variety of degrees, transfer programs and certificates for a wide range of students. San Bernardino Valley College has an accomplished staff, student support services and technological tools that pave the road towards the conquest of a quality education.
When I thought about my future and where I 'll be going, I thought I would be attending a university like all of my friends in high-school. I never thought I would be attending a community college. I really hated the idea of community college. I thought it was for people who had low ACT score or people who didn 't really try as hard as others in school. I always tried hard in school even when things got hard I still tried my best. I never thought it would be for me until I saw the benefits of attending a community college. I attend a two year college because I felt like I had a better opportunity to talk to my professor , also to better myself improving my knowledge by stepping out of my comfort zone.
I see this university as an enormous and amazing place to study. In my mind, I have not planned to start in a JC and then transfer to a State. I know, I can do whatever I put on my mind. I want to accept this challenge, because I want my parents and siblings to feel proud of me, otherwise if I go to Fresno State, I will be the first one of the family to study in a university in the United States of America.
There are several things I hope to gain from my experience as a student at California Baptist University. Such things include, a community of God loving, supporting and encoring friends, a Christian based education and opportunities to grow into the person God created me to be.
Not only monetarily, but also mentally. Attending would certainly allow me to go to my dream school, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, while still being fiscally responsible. Additionally, it will allow me to go to almost any other university if I so desire. Eventually, it will allow me give back to the community and support other aspiring students. I am also positive that SC GSSM will help me mentally. With the low teacher to student ratio, the teachers positive attitudes will no doubt rub off on me. I also believe that the college style teaching environment will teach me responsibility and the value of planning. Attending GSSM would most certainly mold me into a mentally and mentally and fiscally mature citizen.
According to Jenkins and Fink, the writers for the Community College Research Center, an average of 38% of community colleges students transfer to a 4 year college and 42% of the students complete a bachelor’s degree within the next 6 years. Going to a community college is very beneficial and affordable to children with high or low income. While I am taking Economics my teacher broke down the concepts and benefits of going to a community college versus a university. For example, going to Moraine Valley Community College is about $3,570 a year for their tuition, while the University of Illinois is around $15,686 in tution. If you go to Moraine Valley Community College for 2 years you will only be paying about $7,140 versus going to the University of Illinois for 2 years and paying $31,372 Your saving $24,232 dollars if you go to a 2 year college versus going the whole 4 years. If people are struggling financially this can be a financial advantage. Some junior colleges cost less than two-thousand dollars each semester for students who attend full time and it gives students some time to prepare for a 4 year university if they plan on taking their education further. Going to a community college helps students to set goals and aspects for their future career they want to pursue to transfer to a university. So why doesn’t Joliet West counselors promote the idea of going to a community college?
Loma Linda University stands out for many reasons. First of all, the faith that is embodied within the university community is very appealing. Connecting people who prioritize faith in their daily lives results in establishing a healthy network of individuals who value one another and work closely together. This not only allows students to be great team players and helps residents support each other, but also aids me to incorporate my faith in becoming a successful orthodontist in the future. Loma Linda also provides an opportunity to continue serving the community by participating in mission trips and community outreach programs. From a very young age, my family has harvested the need of using my talents to serve others. This has led me to

Most importantly, it has the major (Agricultural Science) that I want to take and study in. With an acceptance rate of 39%, it will be challenging to have a chance but I am willing to go through with it. Its location is also convenient that it is in Pomona, California. This school would be a good fit for my personal needs and career aspirations because it has the major I want, is locally efficient, and is one of the few universities that teaches students by having them do it themselves. I will pursue admission to this college and see where it leads me in the
There are many city colleges in California. Before I graduated from high school, my friends and relatives told me that there are many good city colleges, but I chose to go to Fresno City College (FCC). I used to go to Fresno City College with my boyfriend for several times and found out some information about the college. However, I live in Stockton and chosen to attended San Joaquin Delta College, but not long after I dropped all my classes. I didn't felt comfortable going to that school. It has fewer programs, majors, and classes. Also, I chose to attend Fresno City College because of the help my boyfriend can give me.
The University of San Diego is the most picturesque and interesting school I have ever seen. The amazing campus flows on top of the massive hills and above the amazing city of San Diego. From any building or road on campus, you can get a view unattainable anywhere else in the world. The attribute though, that separates this university from all others, is the history behind it. The rich religious history gives every part of the campus meaning, not found at many other universities in America.
I am currently a student at California State University, Stanislaus for many reasons. Social forces have strongly impacted and influenced my decision to attend CSU Stanislaus. Societal factors such as social institutions, cultural norms, personal values, historical place and time, globalization, and the roles of social class, race and ethnicity, and gender all have played a role that has shaped my life in one way or another.
UC Davis is a wonderful school for me because I believe UC Davis can give me the quality and the opportunity of education that I always dream of. I dream of becoming a great person that I strongly believe I can contribute my works and knowledges to help others. I want myself to experience to the fullest potential of human wisdom in this world I live in. UC Davis gives me a sense of adventure and diversity because of the distance far away from home which helps I learn more about new perspectives and ideas from many prospective students around the world. Being a first college student in my family has given me the excitements and the motivations to succeed in college. Also, I want to make a difference for myself, my family, and the world. My
I chose the University of California, Irvine as my first choice because of their of Criminology, Law, and Society academic program. This program would benefit me the most when it comes to interacting with law. This school is competitive to get into, and I feel like if I do get accepted into the program, that I would be surrounded by students who genuinely care about learning. However, the expense to attend is high, since I would need to dorm at the university. The University of Santa Cruz is my second choice because they have excellent programs for Pre-law. They also have the Educational Opportunities Program which can help me as a college student. This school is a few hours away from my home, so dorming is necessary. My third choice and farthest
