Finally, many school lunches offer a little amount a variety of foods to choose from. If you are like me and are a picky eater then you don’t like most of the foods, they provide you. For example, I dislike various foods like macaroni and cheese, fish sticks, and corn dogs. When I would usually get those foods in school I would give it away to one of my friends or just not get lunch at all. Not all schools have vending machines so not everyone has the option to at least get a snack. Schools usually just make one food and prepare thousands of that one food. By lunch time they don’t have the time to make different varieties. If you don’t like it, you don’t eat until you get home. Although, if you pack your food at home, you decide what goes into
To begin Hammurabi’s Code was not just because all of his rules were very strict. For example in Document C If a woman was caught with another man then they shall be tied together and be drowned in a lake. Also if a son struck his dad his hands would be caught off. I think that these rules are too harsh because they all lead to death. Another example that Hammurabi's code was not just was that instead of killing a person he could just put the person in jail.
The 1700s was a time period of religious revival, people were now beginning to convert from Puritan beliefs to Christianity. This was called The Great Awakening, a great influence to this religious revival was Jonathan Edwards. Jonathan Edwards was a very passionate pastor who in his sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” called out unrepentant people he believed had turned their backs against the word of God and had not yet accepted his son Christ or salvation, causing them to be condemned to the pits of hell. In order to express his concern for those who had no yet accepted salvation and were on their way to hell, Jonathan Edwards utilizes rhetorical devices in order to persuade those who neglect God into accepting him and his salvation so they won’t have to live for eternity in hell.
How many people here sometimes look at the school lunch and say to yourselves, "What is it?" Most of us would agree or that if not most of us would. After getting lunch, do you just throw the food away after getting the lunch right away? You might just bring your own lunch because the school lunches have changed? Also you might have a problem with the lunch menu being messed up? The cooks with the lunch should be able to make better food than what is currently being served.
Not only do both of the reasons above prove and show great examples of why or why not schools really should or shouldn't let school cafeterias be transformed into fast food courts supplied by fast food companies, in the end it's the school's themselves who make the choices to change the foods that they supply. Therefore here are three examples at which they can use to see if there school is even ready to make the leap toward fast food companies supplying lunches. First the school will need to be sure students can afford the lunches, second make sure the school can afford it as well, and thirdly the schools will need to have make sure the students are willing to go along with it. Although there is several more steps in which changing to a fast
Specify a large population that you might want to study and describe the type numeric measurement that you will collect (examples: a count of things, the height of people, a score on a survey, the weight of something).
Children in America are faced with different choices every day. Some of these choices can be either good or bad for them. But these children don't really know the consequences of their actions, but the school does. Schools are serving unhealthy and un properly cooked meals to children every single day. These food companies make big money from these schools because the schools just buy the lunches so the kids will eat something. The schools don't really care what goes into the students stomachs, but as long as the school meets the requirements it's okay. Then the students just eat it because it looks and taste good, but they don't have an idea of what their eating is made out of or where it has been before. The government needs to start making school lunches more healthy for these students, if not then then unfortunately the number of obese children will rise.
The goals,is to improve school food, teach nutrition, support sustainable food systems, and create an education program focused on understanding the relationships between food, culture, health, and the environment.By the time today’s kindergartner finishes high school, she may have eaten well over 4,000 school meals—4,000 opportunities to strengthen her body and mind, introduce food pleasures that will make her a lifelong healthy eater, and deepen her engagement with the natural world. The more than 5.5 billion lunches and nearly 2 billion breakfasts served yearly in school programs, along with complementary education programs, can have a profound effect on issues of public health, academic performance, economics, justice, national security,
A lot of kids like to have healthy choices for meals. Some kids will not even eat at all because they have poor choices and so on they’ll have to go through three whole periods before getting to go home and actually eat something that taste good. Also, most food were given at lunch goes into the trash, but if we had fast food most of that food wouldn’t be going to waste as much.
"Tick tock, tick tock. It is 20 minutes until lunch but I am starving!" Some days in high school I would have lunch at 11:00 a.m., or the next day it would be 1:20 p.m.. I would be starving. When I should have been paying attention to class I was not because I was more focused on how hungry I was and how long it was until it was time to eat. Yet, when getting to lunch, the meals seems to not have enough to fill my stomach up or it was so gross I did not even dare to take a second bite. People are misinformed on school lunches due to the fact they do not know what is being served or why exactly what is being served is being served. Not eating and eating too much of the wrong stuff are all problems of childhood hunger. Recently when students go to lunch their meals are being based off of Children Nutrition Programs or a different type of health related program.
Elementary through high school students complain about how poorly made the food is and how they are still hungry after lunch. “Kids get seconds if they are still hungry, but they choose unhealthy selections”(citation) Schools are basically starving students by not giving them enough protein and nutrition. Schools in America need to step up their game. They all need more fruits and vegetables in their school lunch lines. They should gradually add more and more healthy foods, so the
School lunches are not desirable anymore. When people go to lunch, some of them cannot enjoy what they’re eating. I believe a lot of the reasons people get school lunch is they cannot afford to have lunches packed for them, so they stick with the pizza with gross cheese, and non-tasteful crust.
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is one of the largest food and nutrition assistance programs in the United States. (Moore, Gothro, Conway, Kyler, 2014). The NSLP provides nutritionally balanced lunches free or reduced- prices meals to income-eligible children each school day. The program is federally funded but administered through State and individual school districts. Federal government establishes the program rules and guidelines. States monitor funding and compliance of the federal guidelines.
Parents should continue to support the school meal standards program that Michelle Obama, the first lady, has made a campaign for. Michelle Obama has devoted herself to this campaign and is not trying to do anything other than to help the health of students around the United States. Many schools are involved already, and it would be more effective and helpful if more parents got involved with the way their children eat and make choices at school everyday. Even though students will argue that the new food that is served for school lunches is gross, there are more factors that are more important and relevant to the purpose of this campaign.
Is the school system perfect? No it's not and, here's how we can improve it. We need to improve teacher pay. Give students better lunches and, modify the uniform rules. To make the school a better place for students, teachers and, parents alike hears how.
One thing that sets me apart from other candidates is i have all the motivation necessary to get thru college. All my life I seen how much of a struggle it is to get thru life with a minimum wage job.The way you see your parents on the table literally crying because they don’t know how we are going to get thru the month. I have all the motivation to show college that yes i might fail a class but i am never going to quit. I know education is just a stepping stone to success. I know that to achieve success it not going to be easy but i’m ready with what life throws at me. My motivation is just seeing my life at this point in time. One day if my kids ask me for a toy I want to be able to buy it for them because I have enough money to buy it
