The World Wide Fund for nature, better known as the World Wildlife Fund in Canada, can be considered one of the most popular and reputable organizations that deal with the conservation of nature. Established in 1961 in Sweden, its purpose has been the same since the beginning. This purpose, as cited on WWF's Canadian website˚, is "to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth."
