The American Revolution between Great Britain and the American Colonies was not avoidable. This is because in source a: Legislation bank it shows six acts that were put into place to reduce the high national debt back in Britain. These acts were to collect taxes on anything that was highly used in the colonies and for other services. As you would expect, the colonists were outraged. In source b: Protests in Boston, it shows multiple colonists tar and feathering a British tax collector. The revolution was not avoidable, these pieces of evidence show how this is so. I say this because source a clearly shows why the british put these acts into effect so the colonists were outraged because they should not have been taxed without representation.
As Benjamin Franklin once said, “No gains without pain.” This could not be more of a true statement when speaking of the American Revolution. There are so many factors that are said to have caused it, that it's hard to determine what never needed to happen. Because of the French and Indian War, the British were suffering from debt. They needed the find a way out; therefore, new laws and acts were established. If the British would have treated the colonists as friends instead of their instant way out of dept, we could have never seen independence. Another reason that the American Revolution couldn’t have been avoided; because the colonists had already learned to fight, were tired of British
This is about the American revolution and the taxes the King of England put on the American colonists and how the American colonists thought that King George was a tyrant. The reason that writing this is to show how the American colonists reacted to the Acts that the King put on them. One of the laws was the sugar act of 1764 and the imports from Britain. There was also the stamp act of 1765 that made the colonists real mad . The result of the Tea act was the Boston tea party lead by the Sons of Liberty. The quartering act was the direct cause of the Boston massacre where eleven people were shot and five of them died.
British imposed acts and events against the colonies which put strain on their relationship, which lead to the Revolutionary War. I believe that the Revolutionary War was not avoidable, but only to an extent.
The American Revolutionary War was caused by the political disagreements between Great Britain and the American colonies. Most of the Americans initially didn’t want to completely separate from England but wanted to regain the rights that Parliament had taken away from them. England made war unavoidable with its unwillingness to negotiate, heavy taxation of the colonists that violated their rights, and strict trading policies.
Following the many policies and taxes being passed in the new world came the American Revolution. It’s by far the sole most important war victory America has ever had. It marked not only freedom and independence from Britain, but it also was a victory for mankind and the age of new thoughts, ideals, and practices. The revolution also established a political structure for America that is still effective today. Great Britain outmatched America both militarily and financially but a combination of events happening in America’s favor precipitated one of the greatest victories in world history.
The American Revolution was inevitable. Colonists were infuriated by the stamp act and the fact that they had no direct representation in the parliament that levied the tax. The colonists tared and feathered tax collectors from Britian who would attempt to enforce the british laws. Colonists reacted in multiple revolts and boycotts, such as the Boston tea party. if the American Revolution did not occur, the british government would continue enforcing unjust laws and win more battles against the Americans. The American colonists would continue to rebell like petulant children.

The American Revolution should never have happened. The British were not tyrannical, oppressive rulers although the American colonies perceived them to be so. The American colonists misperceptions led to revolution and independence.
When you research about weather or not the American Revolution was inevitable it seems there is many different answers and opinions. The most common opinion is that yes the American Revolution was in fact inevitable. With the distance between the British and the colonies it was hard for the British to keep a close eye on the colonies. One of the main reasons the British was not needed any more by the colonies was because there was no other military power on the continent of North America so there was not a possible threat that the colonies would be over taken. If the British government would have been willing to cut some sort of a deal or lessen the taxes most americans would have most likely been accepting to this rather than go through the trouble of a war. The war was not completely what the American people wanted but it was in some ways what they where forced to do because the taxes and rules had gotten so strict.
Many people disagree with the British because they put taxes on the colonists. Many people also question whether the American revolution was avoidable. I believe the American Revolution was avoidable. Three reasons why the American revolution could have been avoided were that if both sides hadn’t reacted so violently, if the British had put a reasonable tax,and if the British actually listened to the colonists when they said they did not like the taxes that were put on them.
Even with both the English and the Americans willing to compromise and make deals, it would have been very hard to prevent the War for independence. The American enlightenment, however, could have been stopped. A large majority of Americans wanted independence from England mainly because of the way they were being ruled. Of the Americans that wanted to break away were from many backgrounds, they came from all over the social ladder and from all over the world. If they didn’t all come together to be equal around each other then the War for Independence still would have happened, but the success and growth during and after the war would have never happened. It was never a sure thing whether or not the people would come together to move the
The irregular and disorganized British rule of the American colonies in the previous years led to the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. Most Americans did not originally want to separate from mother England. They wanted to stay loyal to the crown. England’s unwillingness to compromise, mismanagement of the colonies, heavy taxation of the colonists that violated their rights, the distractions of foreign affairs and politics in England and the strict trading policies that England tried to enforce together made the revolution inevitable. The British were definitely expected to win the dispute because they significantly over powered the Colonists in most areas. They had more money, weapons, people, etc. However the American’s prevailed with
The American Revolution, perhaps the most significant event in the history of the United States, was indeed radical enough to be considered a true revolution. One historian stated that, “The founding generation articulated enduring political questions and provided the structures by which we still conduct our political lives” (Kerber 25) to emphasize the enormous impact that the revolutionaries had on contemporary American society. These questions and structures however do not only pertain to America’s political system and ideals; they also greatly changed American social standards and practices throughout the years directly preceding and following the revolution.
The American Revolution was justified because the colonists were not being treaty fairy and equally by the British. And according to Jefferson, “people being oppressed have a moral obligation to rebel against their oppressors”. From the beginning, the colonists were not given the full rights as British men, just because they were not living in that country. The Navigation Acts passed by the Parliament to restrict colonial trade, and all of colonial trade with Europe had to go through England, overall they wanted to keep colonies in a position of economic dependency on Britain. And that was a serious damage in the colonial economies and people’s aspirations, it makes many colonists unhappy and smuggle goods to other country. And British
The British had control of the thirteen colonies for many years prior to the French and Indian War. After the war Britain took sole possession of the thirteen colonies. The French and Indian War had put Britain in debt so they began taxing the colonists. Britain also began to enforce laws made by the King of England. This led to the phrase "no taxation without representation". The colonists had no other choices but to try and settle their differences with Britain or attempt to break away.
