Is Brutus a hero or a villain in the play of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare? in my eyes, Brutus is not a villain in this play, but in the eyes of a civilian he could be considered as a villain. Also i think that Brutus is an honorable man because even though he killed his best friend he did it for the good of Rome and because he’d rather let one person get killed than the country he loves and is devoted to get destroyed.

Julius Caesar was greatly admired by his soldiers and citizens. Julius Caesar won the support of his soldiers through his military leadership and strategy. With his military, he strengthened and expanded the state of Rome.

One major thing Julius Caesar did was change the way the senate was organized to “better represent Rome as a whole” (Bio.com). Julius Caesar was known for “grant[ing] citizenship” to many people, also for “inviting [his] rivals” to join him in the senate (Bio.com). Julius Caesar was popular in both the senate and with the people of of Rome, but it was a different popularity for both the senate and the people. The people love Julius Caesar because he “[bettered] Rome” and helped the people (bio.com).

Caesar had many other effects on Rome besides the emotions of the citizens.  As dictator, from 49-44 B.C., Julius Caesar proved to the world that he was well capable of being a great leader; he did this by making great decisions when times were tough.   Being the kind gentlemen he his, he gave a ton of money to each and every citizen in Rome.  Since Caesar made all of his personal items public, it impacted Rome by showing Rome what his private life was like.   After a well lived life, Julius Caesar showed his loyalty to Rome, and his willingness to help anyone in need, which made Rome a great place to live.

He also helped pull Rome out of the large case of debt that the country was in. The best-known impact he gave to his empire has been called the “central to the establishment of social relations, especially relations of unequal power.” (Roller, 130) During his rule, he was immensely popular with Rome’s poor. This was due to the fact that he proposed redistributing unused public lands that were owned by the government, and redistributing it amongst Rome’s lower income individuals. In the army, Caesar gained leadership, experience, and respect. He was awarded the civic crown for saving a person’s life in battle and was promoted to secure ships in Bithynia (Mark 2011). As a leader of the Roman Empire, he expanded and transformed the empire. By age thirty-one, Julius Caesar had fought in several wars and immersed himself in Roman politics. He helped the Roman Empire by expanding its geographic reach and establishing its imperial system (“Julius Caesar” 2017). Caesar was a skillful leader which contributed to making him a successful ruler.

Some of the reforms that he did were: granted citizenship to those who lived in Rome's territories outside the Italian peninsula, stated new colonies to provide land for the landless, and many more things that people can imagine. He did so many good deeds just for Rome. Also, he had devoted most of his energy to make Rome as perfect as perfect can be.

Julius Caesar acted in the best interest of Rome, in certain situations his actions were justified when it came to bending or breaking the law for the good of the country, and he was the greatest ruler Rome has ever had.

Julius Caesar was a very good hero because he did a lot of good things in Rome that would be difficult to pull off with any ordinary leader. He was the kind of leader that was different from the rest. He treated his troops with great respect, unlike some other leaders of Rome that would just sit in the back and watch their men die on the battlefield. Julius Caesar would get in the fight next to his men and get the full experience.

First of all, Julius made Rome's debt lower tremendously. Rome had lots of debt, especially after the Civil War, or when soldiers asked for payment and the real estate values collapsed. The result of that was the shortage of coinage and loss of circulation due to the fact that people kept what they had. He reinstated that no one could hold more than 60,000 sesterces. He later canceled all interest payments which made debt slow down.

First off, he started public job programs to aid the poor. The poor people of Rome were generally called the Plebeians, and they made up the majority of the population. In order to appease most of Rome, Caesar had to win over the majority of the population. He did that very well by showing compassion to all of them because that then gave them a reason

He was taking over land very fast for Rome. He was a great military leader to take land. That is another reason that Julius Caesar is a hero. The last reason is that he gave poor people jobs. He was very nice to do that.
