Walt Disney had always been an inspiration to me, and his legacy has always inspired my career goals. I’ve always seen myself working within The Disney Company someday, due to my memorable childhood experiences at the Disney parks. Walt Disney World has always been a place of solace for my older brother and I. My parents would constantly fight, creating a lot of stress and anxiety for me as a child. Each time we went on vacation, my family would choose Walt Disney World as our destination. Disney World was the only place that my parents would put their differences aside and genuinely seemed happy together. As a young child, it seemed almost magical how my family would suddenly become one at this specific place. Disney was never just a vacation, it was a retreat for my entire family.
Upon discovering the Disney College Program, an internship for college students, it was simply a no brainer to apply. The program involves living and working on Disney property as a Disney cast member. My further exposure to different ethnicities and religions expanded my knowledge of new cultures I hope to explore some day. I met people from all over the world and established relationships with extremely positive and motivating people. They encouraged my goals and aspirations which increased my motivation and work ethic. I made long lasting friendships that I will cherish forever. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He had an older brother named Roy Disney and his dad was Eli Disney. He always dreamed of creating something big when he was older. As he became older he began creating characters. He created Mortimer Mouse which later became Mickey Mouse. He also made Oswald, Donald Duck, and many others. All of the characters he made were animals with a name. Walt Disney along with Roy Disney built two theme parks. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966 in Los Angeles, California. Walt and Roy Disney created an empire of theme parks, movies, and memorable characters from a recreation of a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
