Throughout my high school career at Wahconah Regional High School, I have done, and continue to keep doing many activities in order to help my community. In addition I have made various accomplishments in many different areas. I should be inducted into the National Honor Society because of how my accomplishments and community activities prove how I fit into the four pillars, service, leadership, character and scholarship.
My scholarship can be seen through my grades at Wahconah. My grade point average has not dropped below a ninety-six in my freshman nor my sophomore year. I plan to keep this up heading into my junior year. With having these grades, I know that in the winter of my sophomore year, I was eleventh in my class. I know this because I had to send my transcript to a private school who was interested in me for lacrosse, and gained very much interest seeing my grades. I have kept my grades up while also maintaining a job at Kelly’s Package Store and playing lacrosse all year round. Therefore, my I excel academically at Wahconah and plan to do no different in the future.
My character is shown in school, as well as outside of school. In school, alongside being a prestigious student, I’m also a great peer. I am never afraid to reach out to someone that needs help if I

This past summer I participated in Camp Holy Cross where I donated my time ad counseled kids from eight to three each day. I worked in the field thus I had to set up games, instruct them and take care of the kids while they were there. Another event I participated in with my church was the soup kitchen. This is where members of the Church’s youth group get together and put on a dinner. I also participated in the crop walk. This is where we collect donations to fight hunger and then walk six miles around Dalton. Therefore my community service shows how I give back, and another reason why I should be
I believe I should be inducted into the National Honor Society because I obtain admirable social and work skills, which include my strong ability to interact and understand others and my perseverance towards my goals. Opening yourself up to strangers or being open to getting on different levels of understanding with different types of people can be difficult for some, however, it has always been my forte. I began my high school academic career at Burrell. The transition from Mary Queen of Apostles School to Burrell High School was a traumatic adjustment to the quantity of my classmates. I had been traumatized at first because I had gone from knowing every person in my small school to not knowing anything or anyone in Burrell. I surprisingly
It is a great honor to be among the commendable students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is discernible for showing an interest in students with exemplary grades, great character, leadership, and service. Last year I was enrolled in a tenth grade honors language class, this year I am taking an advanced placement college course. I am enlisted in all honors classes and I strive to do the best that I can not only academically, but in all activities I participate in. I am a strenuous worker and have great character. Everything I try, I give all my effort, for example, in track I show good sportsmanship and cheer on my fellow athletes at every meet. I also show great leadership qualities.
I am privileged to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to applying to this organization as it provides influential help in our society. I would be privileged to join this distinguished association because it would provide me with opportunities to get involved in my community. As a hardworking, helpful, and friendly individual, I feel that I would make an auxiliary member to this organization. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.
I may not be the best candidate for the next member of the National Junior Honor Society, but I certainly believe I could be a great addition! Overall, I am a great learner, leader and student. I have not had any major discipline problems since kindergarten! I have always had top grades and have been top of my class at some point or another. I have good grades that I always maintain and standards that I never lower. My character is not the best but it certainly isn’t the worst. I try to help out in my school or community when possible but regrettably I have not given much of my time to my school or community. At the end of the day, I am a good student, friend, son and brother.
For my community service, I have been going to Lyndon B. Johnson Head Start Program, or LBJ. At LBJ, it is my responsibility to look after children and clean up after them. The teachers there set up many activities for the kids to work on, most of the time they finger paint. The teachers also set up small field trips. For example, we once went on a field trip to a house that had set up a pumpkin patch and many other activities for the kids. The house we went to wasn’t very far from LBJ. The children had so much fun choosing a pumpkin and playing different games, and I had fun helping them and taking care of them.
National Honor Society is a great opportunity for me to give back to the community. I am Marcel Kas and I am currently a sophomore (2016-2017). I was the president of NJHS in middle school (2014-2015). Through my first two years of high school I have been able to take honors and AP courses allowing me to have a GPA of 4.143. I am also involved in many after school activities. I am currently a part of the tennis team, German National Honor Society, and the Greenfield High School marching band. I also volunteer my time to my community. I always volunteer for Polish cultural events like Polish Fest, I volunteer at church by being a lector and by helping out the priest every Friday and Sunday by being an altar boy, I am in a choir, I babysit,
I, Troy Weber, want to join National Honor Society to benefit my community and myself. This experience will help me with completing difficult tasks, handling a situation or just finding a way to talk to another person. I want to help my community because there is so much work that can be done. People need help everyday and I want to give up my time to lend them a hand or two. Volunteer work can lead to a better character and create a sense of care for the people within a small and large community.
I believe that I should be accepted into the National Honor Society because I embody all four principles. Although I’ve never held a leadership position, I have demonstrated my ability as a leader in both clubs and on sports teams. I have great character; I have never caused issues inside or outside of school, and I am honest. I have kept a high GPA throughout my high school career and place heavy emphasis on academics. Lastly, I have gathered several volunteer hours and have happily contributed to helping my community.
Scholarship and learning are things I strongly value in my day-to-day life. I have completed my freshman and sophomore years so far with an unweighted GPA of 3.94 and a weighted GPA of 5.57. I’ve challenged myself in various Honors and
Everyday, countless amounts of people are working hard, trying to change the world for the better. They are researching cures for cancer or taking twelve hour shifts to help keep oceans clean. There are people who are working towards a better world, and making life safe for the children in need, the animals in danger, and the men fighting for our country. Seeing these changes happen has motivated me to want to be a part of these developments. I wish to serve those around me, and believe that if I can have a positive impact on my community, it can affect the rest of the world. Therefore, I have made it my goal to be a part of the National Honor Society, in hopes that I can help my school, Middleville, and all who have impacted me. I believe that I represent the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and hope to use these qualities so that others may benefit.
I have been participating in community service since ninth grade. Being in organizations such as National Honor Society and Future, Career, Community, Family Leaders of America, have given me the opportunity to do community service with a group, rather than alone. The community service that I have done is events such as , beach cleanup, Teleton car wash, helping in dog shelters, retirement homes, serving Winter Texas, and even volunteering at a Hospice Clinic. These events have expanded my experience with helping and serving others. Since i want to become a Family Practitioner in the future, the community service has helped me get used to interacting with others and helping them get better. When i volunteered at the Hospice center, i logged
From my high school career until now, I have completed around 344+ service hours. In high school I volunteered in my church’s nursery, as well as any events involving our youth programs. I would also help my church’s kitchen every Wednesday night after church. Normally it was just washing dishes or straightening up after dinner. I also helped with the Special Olympics. Another student and I would be paired with a child with disabilities. It would be my partners and my job to help the child feel like he or she could accomplish any obstacle, whether is be an event he or she was participating in or just making the child feel like a super star. In high school I also helped with food pantries for three years. My first year helping was at an Elementary School in New Albany. My dad and I packed lunches and then spent the day delivering the plates to the addresses given to us by the school. The last two years I helped at my church. Both years I helped with setting up, cooking, distributing the food, and cleaning after wards. In high school I also helped with some events Walmart Distribution Center held or participated in. They
Waheed is a very unique person when it comes to his physical features. For instance, his skin color is a light brown tone that is a bit different than most people. He always combs and gels his hair so that it looks like he pulled all his hair back. He barely has any facial hair, but has a lot of hair on his arms and legs. He has a circle face that’s pretty round and has a big nose that shows out just a little. He has no acne on his face, which is a surprise because most people at his age have it. Although he wears glasses, he has really bright brown eyes that stand out. He is a bit tall when it comes to the average height, he is 5’10 which is a bit big compared to the normal size. Waheed is also skinny when it comes to the average weight of
I have worked hard throughout my high school career and I feel like I should be considered for these scholarships because of my efforts to try my best. I have been busy with my organizations’ projects and in my schoolwork and work, while also balancing my classes. I feel as though my perseverance throughout my high school years, especially this year, has helped me better prepare myself to be successful in college and whatever obstacles that I may have to face. I wish to be considered for these scholarships because I am very active in my school community and my first priority that I have for school is to keep my GPA high and to retain information that will help me in the future. These scholarships may not seem like a big deal for some individuals,
In September I did a few community service, and or took part in where it lead up the following months. One of my organizations Diversity for Society had a fashion show they hold every year. I asked to be a part of it, because they do great things for our campus. The fashion show has women, and men of all shapes and sizes. Showing everyone it doesn’t matter what size you are. We are all beautiful doesn’t matter what you weigh. What my job was to help set up, and make sure the clothes were ready to be worn. My other organization I am community service rep we had a guess how many contest. We were raising money for our local fire department. They are volunteer so every equipment is paid out of pocket.
