I believe that World War II was a continuation of World War I because of some not resolved issues. Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by expanding the military and invading Poland. One of the events that led to the beginning of World War 1 was: Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism; which stands for MAIN. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia but they then joined up with Russia. After, Germany declared war on Russia which caused the war to expand. World War I ended in 1918 when Germany surrendered. It also had a great impact on European countries after it ended.

During World War I, the views on the idea of a Civil Peace in Germany changed from wanting and accepting it to opposing it. The concept of Civil Peace refers to setting aside prewar conflicts in order to set unite the civilian population in the interest of defending the country. In the beginning of the war, German citizens were excited to go to war. However, as the war dragged on their views changed. The failure of the Schiefflen plan and Germany's new plan of winning the war of attrition caused the people to wonder what they were fighting for. Those who were for Civil Peace brought up points like there will be an end to political parties and only the Germans matter, while those who were against it said that the children, their jobs, and the welfare of the people are more important than the war. The views on Civil Peace changed with the course of the war. When the Germans thought they would win and the effects of the war were not present, Civil Peace was accepted, but as total war was felt Civil Peace was rejected.

WWI was a time of great change for Canadians. This time period was one of progress for many Canadian women. Although women were not allowed to enlist in the military during WWI, women did play a huge role during the war as nurses and ambulance drivers. In the mid-twenties, the world was affected by a numerous amount of significant wars, but the one that I will be focusing on is known as World War 2 (WW2). WW2 started 21 years after World War 1 from 1939 to 1945. It was an extremely deadly war, one of the deadliest wars in war history to be exact. According to the textbook, Handbook for the Humanities during its six-year period the war left over seventeen million soldiers and over eighteen million civilians’ dead (Benton 289). In the book History of the second war it explains that this disaster was initiated by Adolf Hitler and his deadly plan to invade Poland so that the German people could expand and attain additional living space (Hart 3). During this time the leader of the Nazi Party, Hitler was holding Jewish men, women, and children in concentration camps in hopes to eliminate the entire “race.” Before WW2 Germany was hit hard by the great depression and was going through an economic crisis, he used the holocaust and the invasion as a justification to limit inflation.
