I think the most effective way of learning for me is visual learning. It is the easiest way for me to learn things. I think that academic honesty is of the most educational philosophies because it allows trust between the student and the teacher. I wish that I had better work ethic but I usually procrastinate on my work. Even when I procrastinate I always get my work done on time. I am a shy person and I don’t really like participating in class discussions. I also don’t really asking questions or sharing ideas with the class because I guess I’m just not that type of person that does that.
My favorite subject in school has always been English. In elementary school I always liked writing short stories even if they weren’t very good. When I was
It was sixth grade and an advanced English class was chosen. I was discouraged because I actually enjoyed reading and writing but found out I wasn’t smart enough to be in that class. However, I would say that seventh grade was my favorite year of English. We still had vocabulary, which I wish we still did because I always have boring essays because I don’t remember the words we learned. I wouldn’t say that I disliked reading yet in middle school. I’d even say the most exciting part of middle school would be reading The Hunger Games with Mrs. Young, especially since she was kind of a nerd and got overly excited about all of our
English has always been one of my favorite subjects because it allows me to use imagination and creativity while always learning something new. I constantly read and even participated in a small book club. I also began writing short stories in a journal and sharing them with others. I love being able to write whatever I may think of and turning it into something more. The passion I have for English has stuck with me for years and I have been trying to share it with others.
I have always loved to write, and it became even more evident when I entered elementary school. I quickly befriended a girl named Beth, who lived just down the road from me. One afternoon that I remember in particular was in the middle of the summer. She and I were set to write a book. We had read countless storybooks on our own, and we could not see why we could not write one too. We sat down with a notebook and two pencils, and we were set to go.
What was your experience of learning to write at high school? Which types of writing did you enjoy, and why?
Nike globally is one of those most well-known sportswear brands, as seen being wore by the NFL and other professional sports leagues. Gender equality among the depiction between men and women. Nike created an advertisement for their new product which challenges the typical view of women. Nike uses their popular consumer base to provoke gender equality by using contrasting colors and an unpopular portrayal of women.
As for my Visual Analysis Task, I have chosen to write about this image on the left. This piece was recently created by Shepard Fairey a street artist. This was made in response to the election of Donald Trump- known as the President of the United States. ‘We the People’ features portraits of Native Americans, African Americas, Muslims, and Latinas portrays in Fairey’s trademark style with slogans such as “Women are Perfect” and “Defend Dignity”.
While my love for reading sprouted, I soon became obsessed with writing. My passion for reading only helped my writing skills to prosper. In fifth grade, I had a teacher who very well understood that reading and writing were important. Every day, we had a half an hour to write about whatever we wanted. Boy, my imagination ran wild. I often wrote fiction stories. My favorite part was when the teacher allowed us to share our stories with the whole class at the end of the week. This one activity really sparked the beginning of my love for writing.
This is a picture of my BIC card and is what I get as a Medi-Cal recipient, and the other picture is my new insurance card. I chose this picture for government health programs because the department of Health and Human Services are where they provide Medicare and Medicaid. The department of Health Care Services is where they administer Medi-Cal, which is what I have. It is the nations largest Medicaid program and many Californians have it. It pays for almost half of all births in California, and a little more than half of all the revenues in California hospitals. Medi-Cal, which is what I have offers essential health benefits similar to what Covered California offer. When I visit the doctors or is taken to the emergency room, my expenses are
In elementary school, I loved to read. Writing was not a big deal either due to the fact that we did not have to write four page essays. It was in first grade when I started to like reading. Reading has just been freshly introduced, considering we had only completed one year of school. My teacher always read to us and I wanted to read those books as well. Throughout elementary school I started to read Junie B. Jones books, which were my favorite. All of the books were about a first grade girl and her different adventures. I had always enjoyed reading those books. Each book had a different topic which I would always relate to in some way. Although I liked to read, I did struggle with reading comprehension which made me dislike writing as well. I hated having to read and then go and write about it. To this day, I still do not like reading comprehension, but my feelings toward reading and writing have changed.
This is an anti-smoking advertisement geared towards parents of young children. The advertisement is overall plain and simple; it gets straight to the point when you look at it and utilizes a dark theme. This anti-smoking advertisement is trying to evoke a sense of “parental guilt” into parents who smoke. The way the advertisement is able to do this is through the use of an optical illusion, use of text and the use of negative space.
In terms of work habits, or approaches to learning, my report card from this semester as well as previous ones have shown that I have consistently met all expectations, which is a result of being very organized. Furthermore, I use my class time productively, working well independently and also in groups. I also work diligently on assignments, whether they are projects or homework. Although I may seem very quiet in class I do participate and contribute when I feel it is appropriate and relevant.
The first painting depicts a young woman lying in a field on a farm in what appears to be an awkward position. She may be experiencing some type of internal or emotional pain which may have temporarily halted her ability to move. The field is very close to what one might assume is her home. The painting appears very somber and melancholy and I would hypothesize the young woman is longing for something she might have recently loss; possibly a relationship or significant material possession. The woman gazes towards the house as if she is waiting for something. The colors in the painting are very neutral and the feelings provoked are those of sadness. Another hypothesis could be she is pondering her life path and struggling to
Even though my childhood consisted a fair amount in writing. I think what really made me enjoy literacy even more, was joining my school's creative writing UIL ( University Interscholastic
The Dark Age of Greece refers to a period of time where all knowledge of Mycenae construction, painting, sculpture, reading and writing disintegrated due to Dorian invasion. One form of art that continued through the period of the Mycenaean downfall was the art of pottery. Pottery, more specifically vase painting, was the beginning of an illustrative development in Greek art and was considered a durable form of art because it ensured the survival of artifacts for long periods of time unlike other forms of art. The emergence of independent city-states within Greece took place around the 8th century, which in turn led to the formation of colonies to facilitate trade
Through the years of elementary school, I excelled in reading because of the comprehension I had and my love for books. We were always required to read a book, because we needed a certain amount of accelerated reading points each month. My favorite books were Junie B. Jones and Captain Underpants. I enjoyed reading during these years because it came natural to me and I admired the fictional aspects of books and the way they could make my mind run wild. The teachers I had I credit some of my success to because they helped me succeed in reading during elementary school.
