I like to bring your attention a matter which deserves immediate action. The idea of the United States no longer being the world’s greatest and most secure country in the world is a scenario in which many Americans are not prepared to witness. However, this idea from an analysis point of view may differ depending on the situation. The analysis of America’s greatest resources stems from the responsibility of ensuring these resources are protected. The alternative to the solution may

These actions can lead to social instability; due to political interests and inability to trust government officials to protect the homeland, many Americans will seek self servitude. This in turn may lead to increase crime rates; not only that which is in self-defense, but of retaliatory violence aimed towards creating greater hysteria and fear by these terrorist organizations, ultimately contributing to an increase of human casualties. Though seen today as very unlikely, the effects on the environment from terrorist attacks can also be just one of the many impacts, for example in the days, and even months following September 11th, a report from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continuously gave assurances that much of the dust permeating from the World Trade Center towers were not of any health risk to any of the population. However in August 2003 this report was muffled by a subsequent report by Inspector General Nikki Tinsley, which stated that many of the reports made by the EPA are unfounded (Buczynski, B. 2009). Finally, many of these effects previously talked about as well as the results of strained international relations due to political ties, and/or social opinions can have long-term impacts of how terrorism affects America’s ability to both stand united …show more content…
Aside from being deeply unnerving, and the continued assurances made by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, a report by Judicial Watch states that many US border patrol agents have received orders to avoid certain parts of our southern border to avoid an “international incident” (Rothman, N. 2014). The risk of ISIL fighters, sympathizers, or otherwise sponsors of ISIL planning a border crossing can perpetuate other sympathizers to act upon their views of western civilization, therefore plaguing America with the constant threat of homegrown terrorism. In relation the fore mentioned situations; it is believed that this scenario would be placed 6th in relation to the national threat level analysis. With the threats posed by ISIL for worldwide jihad still fresh in the minds of many Americans it seems as if ISIL has already begun its rampage against Americans within the homeland. In a report from Durden, T. (2014), a man recently fired from a food processing plant in Oklahoma brutally beheaded a former coworker following his recent conversion to Islam. Though not confirmed, many of his actions as well as comments on social media sites indicate the perpetrators sympathies and methods of expressing an
Bellavita Christopher is the Director of Programs for the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security. Also, from 1998 to 2002, he was the planning coordinator for the Utah Olympic Public Safety Command. The author focuses on the fact that homeland security faces a variety of threats. Many factors such as the economy, weapons of mass destruction and a lack of moral compass pose potential challenges to homeland security (Bellavita, 2009). The terrorist attacks such as the one in Mumbai, the economic meltdown, the disaster on the borders remain potential malefactors to the U. S. homeland. And to no surprise, the threats are gradually transforming into a more complex tactics. Bellavita takes aim towards a realistic assessment
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the most recognized person during the Civil Rights Movement. During the mid 1900's, African Americans were protesting the Jim Crow Laws and the racial violence happening around the south. Most importantly, Alabama. On April 16, 1963, Dr. King wrote a letter to clergymen arguing for a change in society and to justify his actions from the Birmingham jail. While writing this letter, King uses rhetorical devices and appeals to develop his argument.
Terrorism is one international political issue that has been significant in US society since the end of the Cold War. Since the attacks of September 11, 2001, America’s sense of security has been destroyed and continued terrorist attacks in other parts of the world targeting Americans, as well as other allied nations further fuels a sense of anxiety. From Bin Laden, to Saddam Hussein and ISIS the fear of further terrorism attacks is

Violence in America America is a violent nation. Many people think that America is full of freedom and democracy. Do these people actually see what happens in America? Do they see the violence in schools, the crime in our society? Most likely, no, these people have loosely seen our society, the violence and the frauds that plague America's history as well as the present.
Homeland security is the cornerstone of protecting the United States from terrorism. The United States has come two ways of providing significant progress of securing the nation from terrorism since the 9/11, attacks (dhs 2012-2016 p. 3). However, there is a terrorist threat that has evolved from the last ten years, continues to develop and change. With the founding creation principle of protecting the American people from terrorists and other threats DHS and many of its partners, internationally, and across the federal, private sectors and communities have strengthened the homeland security operation to reduce and defend
Throughout America’s history, Americans have seen waves and waves of violence. The bloody American culture has taken away any sense of security that Americans may have had. Due to media coverage we are now more in the front lines than ever. Which means that we now feel personal connection victims that are on the news coverage because we know that in one way or another we all share the same characteristics.
On the above date and time, I Officer Marion, was notified of a vehicle that had been parked in an individual’s driveway. When the complaint, Ms. Peggy Walls, comforted the vehicle it drove away, Ms. Walls followed the vehicle into Estill Springs. I made contact and initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle on 41A and Alsonia Drive. The driver of the vehicle exited and ran back to my vehicle. I asked the driver, Mr. William Dye, what was going on tonight, he stated that a friend of a friend, Misty Newson, called and said she need help. I looked in the vehicle and found Ms. Newson in the floor board with a jacket thrown over her. I asked to see her hands she stated that she was afraid someone was going to kill her. I asked the driver of the
Driving under the influence has affected many people's lives and families. Today I would like to talk to you about the problems of drinking and driving, and why it is a concern for all of us. Driving under the influence is one of the most common and dangerous situations you can put yourself or someone else in. The fact is that drinking and driving is a huge deal and can leave a long trail of broken dreams and hearts. If you drink and drive, not only are you putting yourself at risk, but your passengers and the pedestrians outside of your vehicle. According to the most recent statistics by the National Commission Against Drunk Driving states that 17,000 Americans die each year in alcohol- related traffic crashes and 600,000 Americans
The America I believe in has no violence. In the 1st Amendment of the Constitution, everybody has the right to peacefully protest. Nevertheless, some people in this world do not do that. They like to cause destruction between them and whatever they are protesting against. Those peoples definition of protest is to burn people's own businesses to the ground. A business they worked hard to maintain. To crash cars, glass flying everywhere from the broken windows. Or humans being badly hurt. It is just like a domino effect. One after the other.
For years America has been known as the most powerful nation in the world. However, today, many people can agree that America has been losing that title due to a number of reasons. Gun violence, police brutality, racism, and economic problems. These are just a few of the reasons that America has gone downhill. Now the question is can America go back to being the most powerful country in the world?
This research paper will shed light on the issue of Homeland Security. For many countries including the United States, Terrorism and national security have always remained one of the biggest challenges. This research essay will critically analyze as to how the homeland security of the United States has dealt with the threat of future terrorist attacks since its inception in 2002.
The manner in which violence is carried out in America has evolved over time and has
Violence has been an issue for a long time and is all around us, that’s why police or law enforcements are important for our community to keep all individuals safe. People have said for several years that violence is never the answer, but yet we continue to have many issues that surround it. Our own history has shown many acts of violence throughout its time and has proven to people that wars are the only answer, but I strongly disagree.
Many citizens do not know it, but violence is occurring all around them. There are a few ways for us, as citizens, to investigate the types of violence, causes of violence, and ways to control violence in our society. Violence in the United States is arising as we speak.
