Video Game Violence Effects
The technology usage in the United States has grown greatly over the past decade. Video games continue to change in several ways as well. All video games have ratings on them and when I was younger, my parents would not allow me to buy a game that was above my maturity level. Gun violence around has made an uphill climb around us as civilians. The fun that these games produce make it hard for crimes to commence. Violent video games have no effect on gun violence.
My family members do not play video games much and have not committed any violent crimes. None of them have told me that they love violence with a passion or make vulgar responses when they play video games. Many children in my family look at video games as a resource to take up time out of their day. Even though they play violent video games they are welcoming and comical people when I speak to them. When they are mentally ill or struggling with others, we won't discuss violent video games. All of my relatives use a technology resource as help for an upcoming task or to connect with others. Violent video games are the main causes of mass shootings in the U.S. Over the years as technology gets better we have more video games coming out leading to more shootings occurring around the world. For this reason teenagers are protesting about gun violence. Not only does it bring more violence, but it brings issues and behavior problems too.

It directly resulted in President Obama requesting Congress to allocate $10 million for research on the effects of violent media.¨ (Video Games, Violence, and Crime) Some people that play violent video games can be just fine playing them and not doing anything that is regrettable. But there are some people out in this world who do something that is so far off the margin that they cause mass shootings. Violent video games and video games in general cause less crime and gun violence. According to U.S. News, “countries who play more video games, for example Japan, have less crime and gun violence.” Violent video games allow players to make choices that will affect them in a video game so that they don’t try to do it in the real world. According to BBC News, “youth violence in the U.S. and around the world is currently at a 40 year low.” In countries with more people that play video games, gun sales and crime are lower than countries with less people that play video games.
Even federal government research has failed to find a statistically significant correlation between increased aggression and violence in video games.
Thesis Statement: While they may cause aggression in some people, playing violent video games does not cause gun violence because other countries that consume more video games per capita have less gun violence, they are mentally beneficial, and the real causes are rooted elsewhere.
Violence in video games, more specifically where the whole violent video game controversy came up, was a game called Death Race. Since violent video games, like Mortal Kombat, were created, adolescents who play these games become more aggressive than before. To me, playing violent video games is unsafe for these people since they have the negative influence on these people. I believe that researching on that topic would help us get the sense of what problems to avoid. I wish to know what are the possible effects of violent video games on adolescents’ aggression. The independent variable is violent video games, and the dependent variable is adolescents’ aggression. In this age of technology, it's very safe to say that a large majority of the world's population has played at least one video game. This can vary from playing games on console, like Xbox-One, Playstation 4, and for the older generation, the NES to playing mobile games like Tetris. A growing issue in the United States is that video games have led to an increase in violence. The violence from video game experiences have affected many families. Playing video games does not cause an increase in violence as well as it does not contribute to mass shootings.
