“Still Life with flowers” by Vincent Van Gogh was made in 1888. In this artwork, the first thing that I recognized was the flower vase. The flower vase contains many pink flowers and along with its long and sharp leaves. The vase is colored black and white with its top half having green and red decoration on it. Next to the vase are two books laying on top of one another. The book on top is yellow while the one below is tan. These objects are on top of a brown table. The background is plane with only one color being green. After looking at the work carefully, it reminds me of my own childhood. Although this artwork does not have an exact focal point, however the flower vase does capture my attention. Composition plays a major role in this
The focal point of this painting is the tree that lies central on the canvas. It is also the foremost feature in the picture with the town, sea, and intense foliage falling far behind
1.Flowering Chrysanthemum This was an art piece done by Leon Bonvin in 1863. He captures this scenery of the plant making it the focal point of the picture. You can see workers and other plants or buildings in the background, but the chrysanthemum plant really captures the viewers' eye with the bolder colors. 2.Top of flowering stem of Royen's Tree Cactus Created in 1916, this bright, bold, water color piece was done by a lady named Mary Emily Eaton.
What stood out to me of the painting was how bright the picture is. There was no use of dark colors, everything was nice, colorful, and happy feeling. I think the focal point in this painting is the flower itself because they are much brighter that the rest of the painting. Probably to emphasize the beauty of the painting with light. The subject of the artwork is the
For example, the subject of the Mona Lisa sits in front of a landscape and is centered in the piece with a portrait orientation. In Warhol’s art piece, Marilyn Monroe’s head is also centered, and Warhol also uses a portrait orientation. The placement of both subjects at the center of each artwork immediately captures a viewer’s attention. This placement works to creates balance and focal interest within the art pieces: the Mona Lisa balances the landscape in the background while Marilyn Monroe’s head becomes a point of interest in a negative space of a muted background. This placement allows the artist to control the viewer’s focus, perhaps an intention. Similarities also exist in the use of color. Although, Warhol use vivid colors to depict Marilyn Monroe’s face, the hue of the background color is a muted gold
Vincent van Gogh is one of the world’s most well-known artists. He was the son of a pastor and was brought up in a religious atmosphere. He thought his true calling was to preach the gospel like his father. He became a preacher in a small coal mining town. This is when he starting becoming very interested in the people and things that surrounded him. He became an artist at the age of 27.
A while back my uncle took my brother and me to a trip to the Museum of Contemporary of Art in San Diego. However, on that day, the museum had an event of Mexican heritage artist. I do not remember exactly all the details on that day, but fortunately, I do remember one painting I was able to remember, the “Flower Seller.” At the time, I could not understand why the picture had impact me and was the only one I can remember well. When I was young, I thought the young girl was decorating, but now I doubt she was decorating it. Today, I do not know what the girl is doing anymore. Is she about to carry it? What is in the background? Is she in a market or a field? And why is it that I remember this painting so well?
As a formal analysis, this artwork has a figure in the center of the page, which can be assumed to be the focal point due to its positioning in the center of the picture plane. Also, this artwork is monochromatic, and the only color used is the hue green. Towards the top left-hand corner, there are darker shades of green, which make this part seem to be in front of the rest of the picture by using overlapping to convey depth. Also, towards the right side of the picture, the people seem lighter and appear farther away than the dark shaded buildings Additionally, since the figure in the center of the work is larger and more detailed than the other figures, it appears that the center figure is closer to the viewer.
This painting really makes me feel happy and overjoyed. The bright and vibrant colors really stand out to me. In my opinion, there isn’t really a focal point in this piece because the entire painting is the focal point. The subject of this piece is a landscape of the Rocky Mountain National Park, specifically, Longs Peak. There are clouds and a blue sky
Vincent Van Gogh is one of the most infamous and influential artists of all time. When I saw that Van Gogh’s painting “Olive Trees With Yellow Sky and Sun” was on display at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, I knew I had to choose it for this paper. Before doing the research for this assignment, I didn’t know much about Vincent Van Gogh, but the fact that pretty much everyone knows his name and recognizes him as a huge part of art history, it made me naturally really curious about him.
The two still lives, Bowl of Cherries by Giovanna Garzoni, and Vanitas Self-Portrait by Clara Peeters are both artwork from the fiftieth century. They speak volumes about what life was like for each artist, and depict a seemingly average day through their artistic recreations. However, Peeters and Garzoni lived very different lives, and followed different paths through their journey as female artists. A still-life with a convenient subject matter meant something unique to each artist, allowing them to create these seemly different, yet surprisingly similar pieces.
The Parrot Tulip, by Lowell Nesbitt, was painted in 1973 and was made by oil based paint on a canvas. Nesbitt was a floral artist that spent most of his time looking for the perfect flowers in nature. His work corresponds with the “Still Live, Dead Nature” where his work highlights inanimate objects rather
• The focal point of the painting is the sun-drenched valley and river. The emphasis comes from the diagonal of the tree to the left that directs the view of the scene down the valley toward the farmland.
Vincent Van Gogh is one of the most recognized artists in the world. Van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 in Groot-Zundert, Netherlands. Van Gogh was born into a family of six children in which his father was a pastor and his mother was an artist. He was named after his stillborn brother who died exactly one year before he was born.
I'm known to living inside my own head. It's as if Vincent van Gogh's 'Field of Poppies' became an identical replica to associate itself as a good day for me. It's hues of remembrance and vibrancy allow my mind to feel at ease and for me to appreciate the good on the other side of life. On the other hand, I'm still trying to center my mind and emotions where its universal treatment frequently turn a van Gogh painting into a tenebrosi portrayal of Caravaggio's realistic observation of humans, which is often emotionally violent and provocative and a distraction of the feeling of numbness. To this day, my own interpretation of 'The Conversion of St. Paul' is ecstasy-filled, yet terrifying to speak about without getting too in my emotions.
However, perhaps there is more to this image than meets the eye. The style, although subdued, brings to mind the many paintings of women in Victorian art, in which themes of beauty and love were apparent. Victorian women often appeared in the paintings of great artists of the time posing in rather seductive ways, standing next to flowers,
