There are many different types of employees in that business, however, I will focus on the financial analyst, data quality analyst, and a senior variable pay advisor. The financial analyst uses reports results, identifies trends and makes recommendations based on the analysis performed to solve day-to-day financial business problems. (USAA, 2015) The data quality analyst uses relevant industry data quality practices & methods and demonstrated ability to connect data creation, transformation and transmission lifecycles. (USAA, 2015) Last, the senior variable pay advisor uses techniques and tools that promote effect analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business. (USAA, 2015)
Verizon is a major telecommunication provider in the United States. The company is the market leader, with $110 billion revenue and $2.4 billion in profit (MSN Moneycentral, 2012). Verizon has steady revenue streams that are largely based on a subscription model. It has several business segments, including wireless (63.3% of revenues) and wireline (36.7%) (2011 Verizon Annual Report). Most of this report will therefore focus on the wireless business, not only because this is the largest business that the company operates but because it is a rapidly growing and evolving business as well, a function of the rapid pace of smartphone adoption in America.
1. Mission, vision, and primary stakeholders Verizon's corporate mission statement is published in the introduction to the 2010 report, "to enable people and businesses to communicate with each other. We are also committed to providing full and open communication with our customers, employees and investors" (Verizon, 2011a, p. i.). This conveniently outlines the primary stakeholders, with customers owning the service delivered through contracts they commit to, employees obviously having a stake in compensation, benefits and retirement, and investors including institutions as well as individuals. Other stakeholders include the general public who benefit from corporate giving and responsibility, and the suppliers and distributors, their shareholders and employees who earn profit and wages generated directly and indirectly as part of the Verizon value chain, and perhaps the taxpayers who enjoy public services from direct and indirect (capital gains) taxes thereby.
The success of the economic agents depends on a multitude of forces, such as the managerial ability to combine and exploit the resources in an efficient manner, the ability to manage the labor force or the ability to develop positive relationships with the external stakeholder, such as the customers, the business partners, the public and so on. Still, while all these factors are crucial, they are merely adjacent to the core operational function which builds towards organizational success, namely the organizational operations.
Marvin, I really enjoyed reading your post and the example that you provided. I see exactly where you are coming from with this post as I myself have made an attempt to help my parents lower their FIOS bill or change provider. As I was comparing the companies, they both in my opinion force a customer into a package they were not fully satisfied with. Yes maybe you I could have left, but the other provider lacked something that I needed or had what I needed and charge more than what it was worth. I truly feel like these two companies Verizon and Comast are monopolies because the limited option's when building a package. Again great idea for using Comcasat as an oligopoly especially in the Henrico area. If Verizon was to ever set foot in the
The company, I'm representing is Verizon. Verizon offers consumers many products and services for the home, business and even wireless products. Verizon's products that are offered for the home includes but are not limited to FiOS Internet, FiOS TV, FiOS Digital Voice, Standard DSL and home phone, Internet security, text support, and many wireless options to choose from ("FiOS - High Speed Internet, FiOS TV, Digital Voice | Verizon"). The target market for Verizon's customers is everyone! Verizon wants to be a brand name in the home of family and provide all families needs from the cable they watch to the mobile device they speak on. Verizon's goal is to ultimately own the home of consumers.
Verizon changed their organizational culture through role modeling, training, and coaching (Kinicki & Williams, 2013). Verizon created the Leading for Shareholder Value (LSV) and the Verizon Leadership Development Program (VLDP) as a means for cultural change (Kinicki & Williams, 2013).
Darius, performance metrics is a way for the company to measure the employee productivity. Companies such as Verizon’s do measure the employee by the number of sales the employee get from signing people up for new services. However, not only are they looking for their employees to provide customer with new contact but also what them to sell the products as well. They can look and see in the system who is making the most in sales and who is not doing so good in selling. Training opportunity can be mention to the employee to help him or her to get up to speed with the other employees that are doing good. Managers providing their employee with feedback and also goals that they have for the month will give the employee an idea of how they doing.
Received an email from the FCC stipulating that the above case was closed. It's too bad you didn't ask the consumer if they were satisfied or not because I'm certainly not.

Conflict resolution is necessary to keep focus and sustain the positive process. Collection of all the facts should be done prior to attempted resolution. Communication to the parties in a private setting to get their perspective is the idea. Only give opinions afterwards. Unless all is understood one cannot move onto mediation. After making the decision, be resolute in the delivery. (Lewicki, Saunders, & Barry, 2015)

By the year 2020 about 25 billion devices across the United States will be using the internet. [1] Accommodating the massive amount of devices with internet coverage is a daunting task, but innovations being made for data centers are helping accomplish this task. More people are opening data centers throughout the United States to provide internet for all of the aforementioned devices. One common misconception about the growth of data centers is that they are growing in size, but the fact that refutes this is that micro technology and consolidation have become very popular topics for research and development, which have been making data centers stronger. Finding new and innovative ways to cool a data center is a trend in the industry that can make each individual rack more efficient and thus more lucrative. More trends include software driven infrastructure, internet of things, and alternative energy utilization. Data centers are vital in facilitating servers and computer systems, and the increase of the amount of data consumed, will come new advances and trends within the industry.
