St.Patrick's day is celebrated on March 17, St.Valentine's day is celebrated on February 14. St.Patricks day has a four leaf clover as the holidays simboly. St. Valentine's day has a heart as it’s simboly. On St.Patrick's day people eat corned beef and cabbage, on St.Valentines day people eat chocolates and candy. St.Valentine's day and St.Patrick's day both have St and day in the name. Both St.Patrick's day and St.Valentine's day are celebrated on someone's death. St.Valentine and St.Patrick are both men. That is why St.Patrick's day and St.Valentine's day are both alike and different.
‘Havisham’ and ‘Valentine’ are both poems written by Carol Ann Duffy. They both develop the idea of what love is really about, while being two completely different interpretations about love. The poet reveals the link between the two poems using a variety of techniques; Duffy expresses the reality of love in ‘Valentine’ in contrast to the exaggeration that love is a thing of hate in ‘Havisham’. ‘Valentine’ directly tells the reader what love really is, ‘Not a red rose or a satin heart / not a cute car or a kissogram.’ Duffy takes away the materialistic side of love on Valentines Day, and looks at it realistically, using an onion as a gift, instead.
My saint is saint cecilia of Rome. Saint cecilia is the patroness of musicians. At her wedding musicians were there playing while she was there singing her heart to the lord. Her feast day is celebrated in the Latin Catholic church, Eastern Catholic church, Anglican church, and Eastern Orthodox churches on November 22. Saint Cecilia's full name is Saint Cecilia of Rome. In the fourth century a Greek romance on the Loves of Cecilia and Valerian was written in glory of virginal life with the purpose of taking the place of back then romances. Until better evidence is produced, we did not know about saint Cecilia until about the time when Pope Gelasius introduced her name into his Sacramentary. They said there was a church dedicated to St. Cecilia

Flag Day (the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777) was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916, but it was unofficially observed way before then. Flag Day was celebrated for the first time in 1877, the 100th anniversary of the adoption of our country’s flag. My favorite saint is the saint I chose for confirmation, Saint Rose of Lima. She was born on April 20, 1586 in Lima, Peru. She was born with the name Isabel but grew the nickname Rose because her mother would tell her she was as beautiful as a rose. From the moment she was born she was admired for her beauty. She found such little importance in physical appearance that she cut off her hair and rubbed pepper to ruin her skin. She refused to accept any suitors.
Saint Sebastian has two different feast days depending on the denomination of Christianity (January 20 for Catholicism and December 18 for Eastern Orthodox). The Catholic Church sets aside one date out of the year for every canonized saint. The saints are remembered for all of their accomplishments in their lifetime along with dedicated prayers, mentions, and scripture reading. This is undoubtedly parallel to a panegyric for each and every saint. In 286 AD it was discovered that Saint Sebastian was in fact a Christian, following this epiphany, Sebastian was handed over to Mauretanian archers where they pierced his epidermis was punctured by arrows. Post-arrow assault, Sebastian was nurtured back into good health by Saint Irene, but he was finally eradicated by way of clubs in 288 AD, in Rome.

Saint Volodymyr had been a Grand Duke of Kyiv in the tenth century he was the ruler that declared that Christianity was the official religion of the Ukraine. In a way this could be considered a political statement against the atheistic communist regime that had taken over the Ukraine, serving as a reminder that Christianity had been declared the official religion. Saint Olha, was Saint Volodymyr’s grandmother, and a convert to Christianity. The reference to his grandmother, could also be serving as a reminder of ancestors and family.
