Dear Editor,
I wish to explain some common misconceptions involving vaccines moreover, provide some information as to why everyone should be properly vaccinated as it is my personal opinion that they’re an indispensable medical practice. Not only have vaccines greatly improved medical technology, but also the overall health of citizens, and have almost prevented some very lethal diseases from killing the population.
Let’s start with the most obvious contribution vaccines provide, progress in the medical field. Medical technology has advanced further in the last 100 years than it has throughout history. We live our lives relatively disease-free and we owe so much of that to vaccines. Despite the overwhelming evidence, people still have some questions and concerns, which is okay, so let’s explore the typical misconceptions that come with the topic of vaccines and provide some information surrounding vaccines.
In 1796, smallpox was hundreds of thousands of people every year. This was until Edward Jenner

I highly advise you to be vaccinated. Vaccine-preventable diseases haven’t gone away; the viruses and bacteria that cause illness and death still exist and can be passed on to those who are not protected by vaccines. In a time when people can travel across the globe in just one day, it’s not hard to see just how easily diseases can travel too. In the US, vaccine-preventable infections kill more individuals annually than HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, or traffic accidents. Approximately 50,000 adults die each year from vaccine-preventable diseases in the US. Diseases not only have a direct impact on individuals and their families, but also carry a high price tag for society as a whole, exceeding $10 billion per year in direct and indirect costs. An average influenza illness can last up to 15 days, typically with five or six missed work days. So please, for your safety and suitability, please be vaccinated. It can mean the difference between life and
This essay will attempt to investigate the employment of the 23 plus vaccinations used today and how they defend the preventions and spread of diseases. The paper will support the pros and the cons of vaccinations that are supported by research statistics as well as the different symptoms that have been reported for each available vaccine.
The debate about vaccines has been going on since the development of the first vaccine. By understanding how Dr. Jenner developed the first vaccine and how vaccines have impacted society as a whole, one can gain insight into their importance. Vaccine safety concerns are on the rise, but researchers are attempting to ease worries by providing facts and clarity on the subject of vaccines. Knowing the facts about vaccines is important for one to recognize misinformation and poor logic as well as the misinterpretation of existing information about health concerns associated with vaccines. Because of these health and safety concerns, many parents question the benefits of vaccines.
To the average individual, the word ‘vaccination’ means to prevent illness. Vaccinations have many advantages; they allow us to be less susceptible to a variety of illnesses and diseases. Many individuals believe that vaccinations should not be mandatory. However, the benefits from vaccinations greatly outweigh the risks from side effects. The judgments are factual and ethical and are supported by testing and research findings from multiple sources.
Vaccines are important for the wellness of America. Without these vaccinations people will fall ill very quickly. Getting vaccinated is safe, not only help you but people around you! Without being vaccinated deadly diseases will appear once again from the past that we tried so hard to cure.
“Why should I get vaccinated? It is just a waste of time and money. I never got vaccinated before and never will.” That’s what one of my colleagues said when he was asked to get vaccinated during the outbreak of SARS, severe acute respiratory syndrome, few years ago in Mongolia. Then, I had reasoned him that disease comes all of a sudden and it is more serious than he thinks. As reported on CDC, Centers for Disease Control, 40 percent of all American parents were refusing one or more vaccines for their children (Willrich 3). So it is clearly one of the most significant public health issues today. There are lots of people who hold the belief against vaccination because of several reasons. Even though there is a public notion that vaccine
Everyone should be vaccinated to prevent the spread of disease. Whether it’s the common flu or hepatitis, being sick isn’t fun and it can cause severe complications in young children, people with weak immune systems, and the elderly. We should all get vaccinated to ensure that every generation is safe from severe illnesses.
As for the forms to signs: will I have to prove my immunization status? Shall I bring any other kind of document besides my ID?
The intended purpose of this presentation is to provide facts and scientific research that persuades the audience members regarding the use of vaccinations. My intention is that the audience will support the use of vaccinations and consider the facts before making decisions that affect the entire community. My central idea is that inaccurate data exists with regards to vaccination; instead, that vaccinations should be viewed as essential for protection of society, both from extreme illness as well as life threatening, and sometimes fatal, diseases.
Every year, more than ten million vaccinations are given to children under the age one. Ten million vaccinations just in babies, can you imagine the global number for all ages? Since the end of the 1700 century, vaccinations have built an immunity to many infectious diseases, saving millions of lives; however with new controversy data shows that these vaccines could be causing more harm than good. With the eradication of smallpox, vaccination numbers have skyrocketed and the effectiveness and safety have been questioned. To begin with readers will gain basic knowledge on what a vaccine really is and how it works.
Vaccines help stop a disease from infecting the body by mimicking the disease and exposing the body to a small amount of the infection. This is scientifically proven and has worked to stop outbreaks of chicken pox, HIV, the flu, and much more. Not only does this help the person who is getting the vaccine, but it also keeps everyone around them safe. Some people may not be able to get vaccinated for every disease available, whether it is due to issues with money or age. However, if people around them are able to get the vaccine and protect themselves, it also helps the people that have to be around them on a daily basis. In other words, getting vaccinated may not only save your life, but can possibly save the lives of everyone around you. This is known as “protecting the herd.” They protect humans and animals from life threatening diseases. Vaccines are a big reason the average life expectancy has risen since the 1800s. In the last 150 years, life expectancy has doubled. Humans used to live to be about forty. For most high school and
In today’s society we use many vaccines that help prevent many different diseases. Some of these are live, attenuated vaccines, inactivated vaccines, subunit vaccines, toxoid vaccines, conjugate vaccines, DNA vaccines, recombinant vector vaccines. There are also multiple benefits of children getting there vaccinations early. There are also some downsides to vaccinations which will looked at directly as well. The importance of these vaccines are a great help and ultimately outweigh the shortcomings to this.
Vaccines prevent more than 2 million deaths each year. People argue the benefits and the drawbacks of vaccinations, and whether it should be mandatory for children or not. However, every individual has a different perspective and views the issue from different aspects. For instance, scientists, doctors and nurses may have a different viewpoint than some parents regarding vaccines. Vaccinations should be mandatory for children for these three reasons: prevents children from getting serious diseases, proven safe ingredients are used for children’s vaccines, and it saves children’s health for a long time with a low cost.
In this paper I will be discussing the need of vaccination and the importance of being vaccinated at a young age.
Vaccines are one of most successful and cost effective public health preventive tool in current century for preventing communicable diseases. According to UK Health Protection Agency (HPA), vaccination is the second most effective public health intervention worldwide. Immunization protects the individual as well the community from serious diseases. Since the implementation of immunization there has been a 95% reduction in the cases 4. According to WHO immunization prevented 2million deaths worldwide.
Immunization is very important to the safety and health of everyone, especially children. Whether on not to vaccinate is the big question here. The only reasonable choice to make is to vaccinate. Immunization is not bad; moreover, the choice to not receive shots is dangerous. The choice to vaccinate your child could be a choice of either life or death. Vaccines are safer and easier than many people think. Immunization can protect from loss of time and money due to hospitalization, and can save future generations. Becoming educated on vaccinations and how they work will save lives one day.
