The most known symptom of rotavirus is severe diarrhea. Other symptoms include fever, vomiting, stomach pain, and dehydration. Rotavirus can cause severe illness and can even cause death due to dehydration. Good hygiene and sanitation is very important for your child but won’t affect the rotavirus. Immunization is best for your child to prevent the disease.
MMR stands for measles, mumps and rubella, and it is caused by a virus. Measles cause brain swelling, lung infection, and a rare brain disease. Mumps can cause hearing loss, infection of the brain/spinal cord and inflammation of the heart, kidneys, and joints. Rubella can cause chronic joint problems, reddening of eyes and swelling of the neck. The MMR vaccine has made it so today measles, mumps, and rubella are less common.
Childhood illnesses that were once present and killed many innocent people, are now decreasing because of vaccinations. "Up to 90% of the total decline in the death rate of children between 1860-1965 because of whooping cough, scarlet fever, diphtheria, and measles occurred before the introduction of immunizations and antibiotics" (Obomsawin, Raymond). Vaccination are so important that schools are now requiring every child to have mumps, measles, rubella, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and polio before attending. In order for a child to attend school, they are required to have at least 4 doses of Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus; 2 doses

By vaccinating your children, it will cause a decline in disease all over the world. People that aren’t vaccinated are not allowed to see cancer patients because of the possible chance of them carrying a disease. In 2010, the U.S. shows 21,000 causes of whooping cough (pertussis), most cases involving children that are under 6 months of age. These children most likely developed this disease because of a friend or family member that weren’t immunized. People need to understand that young children aren’t able to be as vaccinated at a young age, so since they are not vaccinated and immune to the disease it will affect them to a great extent. Every health care employee are required to have all of their vaccinations, even the flu. Health care employee are exposed to many illnesses and they work with people that are sick and have a low immune system so in order to protect their patient, their vaccination records are always up to
Childhood vaccinations have not been a topic of controversy until recent times. Due to the recent outbreaks of diseases that were thought to be eliminated, people are now investigating vaccinations. State representatives and Congressional people have even gotten on the bandwagon to emphasize the importance of vaccinations. Many states already require children to be vaccinated before entering school, but states allow religious, medical, or personal exemptions. Getting rid of these exemptions would be beneficial to not only parents and children, but also to members of society. Having children vaccinated at a young age when the immune system can respond correctly to vaccines will benefit the future health of children. Children are more at danger at a younger age to catch infectious diseases. Vaccines are a safe way to prevent the child from getting sick. “Proponents say that vaccination is safe and one of the greatest health developments of the 20th century”
The vaccinations of children are a cornerstone of the United States public health measures to protect people from a host of infectious diseases and possible death. Vaccines are beneficial to the greater good of the public health including your own as well as being a cost effective way to manage infectious diseases. Diseases that used to be common throughout this country and around the world can now be prevented by vaccination. These diseases include polio, measles, diphtheria, pertussis, rubella, mumps, tetanus, rotavirus, and haemophilus influenza type b (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014).
Over many years there have been parents that are very resistant to giving their children vaccines for the most complex to simplest diseases. Getting your children vaccinated could potentially save your child’s life and wipe out the disease for good. All children should be vaccinated when they are old enough to get the medication because if they do not get vaccinated it could put their health and others’ at risk. The disease-prevention benefits of getting vaccines are much greater than the possible side effects for almost all children.
People choose to vaccinate for many reasons but one major reason is to prevent themselves and their children from contracting vaccine-preventable diseases. These parents and/ or individuals may feel that getting vaccinated is an important part of overall health. There are still many vaccine-preventable diseases that exist in the world today and some people still think that getting vaccinated is unnecessary. “In 2000, the United States announced that it had eradicated measles from the country. Fifteen years later, the disease was back.”
According to nfid.org, in the twentieth century diphtheria, measles, mumps, rubella and Hib killed hundreds of thousands of people. Over the past century there has been a rapid decrease in diseases. Clearly, some diseases have been eradicated because of vaccines. Parents should still vaccinate children for diseases, but first do some research about questionable vaccines, for example, the HPV shot. Undoubtedly, vaccinations should not be eliminated, yet certain ones need to be investigated by parents to confirm that the shot is safe for their child. It should not be highly recommended for children to get all vaccinations open to
According to the CDC (2014) vaccinations are one of the best ways to put an end to the serious effects of certain diseases, some that can be deadly. Parents who choose not to vaccinate their children are not just gambling with their child’s life, they are also gambling with the lives of others. It is always better to prevent a disease than to have to treat it after it occurs. People with weakened immune systems are not as strong such as pregnant women, newborns, cancer patients, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive people, transplant recipients, and the elderly are also affected by the choice not to vaccinate.
Preventing disease is much easier than treating a disease once it occurs. Vaccines can prevent most childhood diseases such as measles, diphtheria, polio, and small pox. There has been much discussion in the news recently over whether or not to vaccinate children. One argument is that vaccines are not safe and contribute to autism. The vast majority of people continue to believe childhood vaccines are safe and choose to have their children vaccinated. If deadly diseases are going to continue to be prevented, it is necessary to have children vaccinated.
Because of advancements in medicine, vaccinations are becoming a widespread medium in the prevention of disease. They have provided the eradication and immunity to many deadly diseases such as smallpox, polio and rubella. Although there is no law that mandates the vaccination of children, they are necessary to prevent the infliction of disease and harm. By making the decision to vaccinate their children, a parent has the potential to save their lives.
In today’s society they’re thousands of children that are not being vaccinated because of the unconcerning knowledge of the parents not knowing the side effects: long-term or short-term. A side effect is an harmful or unpleasant effect of a drug or a medical treatment. Babies and children are more than likely to experience an unpleasant effect due to their very weak immune system.Babies and children are not like the adults and the elders. When infants are born their immune system in not fully developed but the doctors vaccinate them to help fight the germs. Children are vaccinated for the same reason because it helps them fight bacteria and bad viruses. Babies and children should be vaccinated
During this time and period, vaccination has become an emotionally charged health issue among many families. Anti-vaccination groups believe that vaccines cause birth-defects and autism in young children, and many families are scared to get their children vaccinated. Studies have shown to disprove these side-effects to vaccination, however, parents are still not convinced and refuse to get their children vaccinated. Therefore, the Center for Disease Control organized an advertisement campaign to promote positive messages such as "Spread music. Not Flu.", "Shots aren't just for kids.", and "The FLU ends with U" to encourage vaccination.
Having the immunity when your child is exposed to the disease is extremely important. Vaccines have come a long way and many diseases have been eradicated due to people choosing to vaccinate.
[Vaccinations have lowered the death rates of Americans over the years. According to McNeil “in November 2007, death rates for 13 diseases that can be prevented by childhood vaccinations were at all-time lows…nine of the diseases, rates of hospitalization or death had declined more than 90 percent. For three…death rates had dropped by 100 percent” (Paragraph 3). This study shows that vaccinations are beneficial to children. With these vaccinations, children will be less exposed to these diseases, which will prevent them from spending time in the hospital or in some cases dying.
Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to inform my audience on the importance of vaccinating their children. My central idea is that current education is too lax, we need to better educate our new parents on the importance of vaccinations.
As if being a parent can be stressful enough, vaccines for a parent can be even more stressful. Immunizations are defined by many experts and providers to be a process of boosting an individual’s immune system against disease by introduction of the disease in a small dose. Immunizations work by the process of introducing immunological memories that respond to past encounters (Nuorti & Whitney, 2010). This teaching plan will follow a vaccination schedule from infancy to adulthood and explain the reasons a parent should immunize their children.
Vaccination can save your child. The medical world is more advance then it has ever been before. The advancements in medicine have been able to save many children’s lives again harmful diseases that once killed thousands. Vaccines have killed off many diseases and a lot are on the brink of extinction. Vaccination protects your child from more diseases than ever before. Polio was once an epidemic in the united states that killed millions. Thankfully to vaccination polio is very rare and has not been reported in the states recently. Vaccinations help your child’s immune system interact with the substance that is in the shot and kill it off so that they are immune. The vaccine will not harm your child. Yes, there can be allergic reactions but that is better than death from your body not being prepared to attack the viruses.
